> 3 dayI used for my cabinets doors made out of Walnut hardwood. I was able to made 900 pugs easily and the bit feels like very sharp after that. I used my Ryoby press-drill and was very easy to drill 900 pieces. Very nice and excellent quality plugs. BUY IT!- Im a general contractor and used this brand for first time and Im very impressed.

Greater than one weekWorks great. Perfect match to normal countersink bit for #8 screws. Im actually mostly using this cutter to cut plugs all the way through 1/4 Baltic Birch plywood which creates a nice match to plug countersunk screw holes in thicker Baltic Birch plywood. With face side of source board pointed down on sacrificial board and drill press set to just touch the sacrificial base board, the plugs spin out nicely. (Im too lazy to cut plugs partially into the source board then chisel or trim them out, plus that probably wouldnt work well for plywood anyway).

Greater than one weekIt worked good it does waste a lot of wood. The size it cuts is dead on or at least it matched my bit perfectly or a bit tight. Im happy with it.

Greater than one weekThe first thing I noticed was the finish was rough and did not have the matte or semi-glossy sheen of other plug cutters I have had in the past (and the one thats pictured). There were little bits of white gradoo stuck in the crevices like it had not been cleaned before packing. I wonder if a final step in the manufacturing process had been skipped. When I went to use it in my drill press, it seemed to need a lot of force to work into the wood. It also squealed and chattered. I honed the cutting edges which seemed to help a little, but sometimes it cuts well and sometimes it chatters like crazy., not sure why. Im considering throwing it out and trying something else, but it does work, just obnoxiously, so I guess Ill use it for now.

> 3 dayThe plug is exactly the correct size. I have found that I need to cut the plug quickly to help the cutter not to burn the wood (walnut at the moment).

> 3 dayFirst off... this is my first plug cutter so I dont have previous experience with plug cutters that I am comparing this to. I bought this cutter to cover a dozen or so screws in a stair handrail project I was working on and it turned out great. My only complaint is that it was not very sharp. It required a bit of force and it seemed to burn its way into the wood rather than cut. Maybe red oak is a little hard for this cutter? Maybe Ill try sharpening it before the next time I use it? Overall this cutter served its purpose and helped me complete my project. I wouldnt expect this to last for a lot of uses but for a few small projects and for the price its more than adequate.
