22-11-2024Works great. Perfect match to normal countersink bit for #8 screws. Im actually mostly using this cutter to cut plugs all the way through 1/4 Baltic Birch plywood which creates a nice match to plug countersunk screw holes in thicker Baltic Birch plywood. With face side of source board pointed down on sacrificial board and drill press set to just touch the sacrificial base board, the plugs spin out nicely. (Im too lazy to cut plugs partially into the source board then chisel or trim them out, plus that probably wouldnt work well for plywood anyway).

> 3 dayCuts nice plugs. Use to cut face grain plugs, which look much better.

> 3 dayDisappointed with this product. Plugs are very rough, get stuck, and most are unusable.

> 3 dayWorks best in a drill press, it has a tendency to tear out some fibers from the plug so you will end up with a few trash plugs, overall not bad but could definetly be improved

> 3 dayThis guy works great! I had to cut a bunch of plugs for a cumaru deck (cumaru is a Brazilian hardwood that has a 50+ year lifespan but that’s a different story). I tried using a cylindrical plug cutter but, whether I cut fast or slow, made more smoke then plug and by the time I got one cut it looked more like a guinea pig turd than a wooden plug. I picked this one up and it tore through making 70+ plugs in no time and was as sharp as it started out as. I have been very impressed by this plug-cutting but and would highly recommend it do you anybody. It is well worth the price!

> 3 dayThe worst plug cutter Ive ever used. Tons of chatter and the resulting plugs were smaller than 3/8.

Greater than one weekI got this along with a counterbore set from Snappy - I was able to sink some screws on the underside of a serving board and then hide the holes with custom plugs. It worked well for me. The plugs I cut were a little skinny but that could have been use error and a little run out on the drill press. Since I was not looking for an invisible fit I was happy. The bit is sharp and cut through mesquite just fine. Walnut got scorched a bit but once I lowered the speed of the press it was fine for me. I am an amateur and your mileage may vary. Buy American.
