This game is very creative, fun, and you learn a few things.

Wingspan has quickly become one of our favorite family games. Some weeks we play several nights a week, several games a night. This expansion has nectar, which I wasnt fond of at first. But the more we played, the more it grew on me. You do need to have the original game, as Oceania is not a standalone game. It isnt hard to learn to play because there are some great new components, but you would ideally already have learned how to play the original game.

My fiance and I have loved playing the original Wingspan, both in 2 player-setting and with a bigger group. Each game forces players to adopt different strategies, which made it a lot of fun. However, the birds definitely were getting a bit repetitive in terms of their abilities, and there were some abilities that were always ignored as useless. The European Expansion adds a bunch of new birds and abilities, including a new ability type. From the first game we played we could tell the change in the dynamic and strategies that the expansion offered. Must have for any fans of Wingspan!

This takes the original Wingspan game and adds new diversity, interest, and life to an already great game. There is much online discussion about mixing these cards with the original and recommended ratios. We mixed the whole expansion into the original and it works great that way. Fantastic game for 2-5 players.

With this expansion, there are really so many different strategies you can use and its easier to pivot if your original goal doesnt seem to be working out. We find it much easier getting more resources to play more birds which always makes a game more fun. It takes a little bit to learn the new rules but after one game I dont really want to play without it.

This is wingspan 2.0 and really changes the number of viable strategies. The mechanics are really well thought out and of course the cards are eye candy. Surprisingly mentally engaging and balanced.

The Oceania birds are ever-more colorful and powerful in the game, but its the nectar thats the real star of the show here. We play with this expansion every time we play now!

It is an interesting extension to the basic game.

I already had the base package and the European expansion, so I was familiarized with the game. As with the others, this expansion is really beautiful and the mechanics will for sure make the game far more interesting and competitive. Recommended!

We love wingspan and play it almost daily. We definitely enjoy the expansion and new powers this brings. The only thing we didnt like about this expansion was the handful of cards that are attack cards, cards that allow you to steal food from another player. This is a departure from the original and from the Oceania expansion that allow you to benefit from things other players do but never allowed you to TAKE things from other players. Perhaps this works in multiplayer games if youre stealing from multiple players (I dont know yet), but in two-player games we recommend just removing these from the deck to keep things civil.
