This Journal in very good condition has coffee stains on the front of the binder, the band with information around the journal, the front 2 pages, and the stickers on the front wont come off. I was very disappointed in the quality based on the price and very good condition! I feel this journal should have been priced half the price I paid.

This sketchbook contains high quality pages, they are cold press and the surface is smooth but with a nice texture. I use it for all my portrait studies

This was a Christmas gift for my son. He has used this Strathmore STR-469-105 for a few years now, and really likes it for his sketching.

I used this journal for a mixed media art class. This is the second year I’ve taken this class and used this journal. I’ve used watercolor and acrylic paints and several different kinds of markers. The pages have held up with each medium used and the pages never bleed through on sides or the next page. I’m very impressed with this product and will use it again.

Nice thick paper that doesnt allow soak through. However, it is not very absorbent if you use very wet media such as watercolor. The paper is super smooth, which is great for ink line work and sketching in charcoal. I found that Zendoodles in black ink with white highlights really look great on this paper.

I use this watercolour journal for my illustrations and I couldnt be more pleased by the quality. Strathmore are a great brand for paper and their watercolour paper is just perfect. Their thick GSM is perfect for washes of colour and the paper has very little buckling which is something vital when creating illustrations. When applying watercolour to the paper it more or less sits on top of the paper and dries rather than the paper soaking it in, meaning that if you make a mistake and the watercolour is fairly wet you can simply pick the colour up with a paper towel. The feel and texture to the book is great and gives a great touch to finished pieces as the texture can often be seen through washes. Binding of the journal seems quite strong so far as Ive used it. The journal is a little pricey though so I would recommend using this if you work with watercolour a lot and your budget allows it. Edit: its been almost a year since I bought this now and this journal is still up to par, as for binding it is still strong.

Pros: great with wet medium, nice sturdy cover, portable size Cons: Graphite smudges, doesnt lay flat, copic alcohol-based markers bleed through

Perfect for 8.5 x 11 addicts who find those other sizes outside their comfort zone.

Couldnt wait to start painting in it, Ive been looking for an affordable sketchbook that could withstand paintings like oils acrylics. so far Ive only used gouache. but since gouache is like acrylic and watercolors child I believe it could withstand both. that paper barely buckled and the gouache painted on nicely. WILL PURCHASE AGAIN dont know how itll work for markers since I dont use them but for waterbased mediums, i would recommend
