These make excellent travel journals and sketchbooks. The paper will hold a wash without buckling and is smooth enough for pen and ink work. I use both sides of a page without any bleed through.

I actually bought this sketchbook at my local art store. I been meaning to try this out mainly because I wanted to keep all my watercolor drawings in a book other than loose leaf pages. Many things that I love about this sketchbook is the texture. One side of the page has a random light tooth while the other side is a harsh pattern texture (this side I do not like). The pages holds up quite a bit of water. I even painted a few drawings right off the bat and it does not bulk up. The paint stays wet a bit longer than other papers I have used (which are cheap papers btw) so it gives me time to fix, blend, or manipulate as I please. Both pages are totally usable if you would like since the paper does not wrinkle or bulk it can handle both sides (at least for me it does). A few cons to this sketchbook is that it does not lay flat. The cover of the sketchbook is soft faux leather which is nice but it easily gets dents and scratches which is very noticeable. I know I said before it was good to use both sides of the pages if you like but the downside for me is that since both sides have different textures I end up only painting on the pages that I like the texture on. Overall, great sketchbook. I do recommend this for any watercolorist; however, if you do not like any of the cons I have listed then I suggest looking elsewhere because this might not be the product for you.

Arrived saturated in a heavy sickening scent, like it had been sprayed directly with scented Lysol? The hardcovers corners were damaged on the spine and outer corners, outer corners crushed inward so badly the recessed paper corners are foxed and bent. Packing should have protected the fragile corners and paper products should never be exposed to scented products as the scents cannot be removed and over a third of the gen pop has adverse medical reactions to synthetic scent, including anaphylaxis.

The quality of the paper Is good. It is hard back and the paper is thick enough for paint and ink.
