Strathmore 566-5 500 Series Hardbound Mixed Media Art Journal, 5.5 x 8.5, White, 32 Count

Ive 95% filled this journal with watercolor art. This will be my go-to watercolor paper from now on. There is something magical about the way that the pigment dances across the page - probably due to the 100% cotton. I use a lot of water and the pages do buckle a bit, which doesntbother me. And the journal doesnt lay completely flat, which is usually a deal-breaker, but I just use some clips to keep the paper down while working. Im happy to overlook those minor issues for the paper quality. I prefer this paper over the same weight (and more expensive) Arches. As you can see from my photo, the pages work for collage as well.

I never received it. from experience, I can say Strathmore is a great quality brand and this sketchbook is no exception, but be prepared for long shipping or never receiving it at all.

Bought for daughter. She paints water colours posca paint pens color pencils perfect for all.

I keep a journal. For years I have used sketch books for the purpose. The old one was full and this book presented itself at a very low price and on paper had all the right specifications. On arrival I was delighted to find that the book was bound in an elegant leather-like material which feels satisfying to the touch. Let us hope the content does it justice.

This is the type of sketchbook thats such beautiful quality, youre almost too scared to use it. The paper thickness and texture is absolutely ideal for me; I mainly use india ink and water-based brush pens. No feathering, no bleeding.

Good quality paper

I am using this in a journaling class called Draw Your Awesome Year given by Joanne Sharpe. Well be filling the whole book during the year. I love the paper and the size for a years worth of drawings and notes so will definitely be buying more of these. I wish the covers came in more colors. Why do the companies think we all are happy with black??

These are great quality pages that truly can handle mixed media. I have been doing a lot of water color with pen and ink and have had no issues. The pages are smooth which I prefer. It is a great quality product. I highly recommend and will order and use again.

Love, Love, Love this big art journal. Paper is soooo nice I was afraid to start messing it up! But of course I did - sturdy enough for mixed media. The large format is wonderful.

Great quality and good for sketchbook practice, however delivery is slow.
