> 3 dayThis light is as advertised. It is bright and light weight. It has a momentary on switch which is extremely nice. The only flaw I have experienced is the light gets really hot if used 10 minutes or longer. Not so hot it burns but hot enough you dont want to touch the metal casing around the bulb. The metal around the battery compartment and on/off switch do not get hot so you can operate it for longer periods of time without discomfort. Just be careful not to let your hand wander near the bulb area or it may nip you with heat. If mounting this light the heated bulb area wont matter because the bracket will be around the center of the light and the on/off switch does not get warm or hot.

> 3 dayIf you are in any type of security or law enforcement then this light is for you. This thing is just as bright as the spotlight on my cruiser. The only thing is that if you use it regularly in your daily patrols then it zaps the batteries pretty quick. My batteries start getting weak around the third night. You can get the rechargeable but idk how great they are.

> 3 dayThis thing is impressive. The modes are easy to switch between. I have this mounted to my rifle, and I plan on buying another for every day carry

> 3 dayGreat, very bright beam. Sometimes I feel like I could cut a metal plate with its beam. And very tuff construction. You only get a couple hours of lighting time with it, but when I’m using it at work, I only need a beam for a couple of minutes at a time. And I always keep the spare battery freshly charged.

> 3 dayExtremely bright. The non rechargeable lithium battery is the way to go for intermittent use.

> 3 dayGreat quality flashlight fits nicely in hand. Well worth the price, but the 1000 lumen rating is questionable. I tested this side by side with a 600 lumen Black Label 6V flashlight at 20 yards (both using CR123A batteries). Both flashlights had almost identical beams, but the HL-X appeard very slightly better. In the image: Left is the HL-X and Right is the Black Label 6V

> 3 dayI bought this as a pocket light after owning the Protac HL-X rail mount version. After trying several sets on batteries Ive found that this hand held version is quite a bit dimmer than my rail mounted light. Not sure if its just mine or if its a common theme. The rest of the light is great, and its still plenty bright, but I was expecting the same output as my Railmount.

Greater than one weekThis just arrived yesterday and I could not be happier with this purchase. Very bright. Easy to use. Tried it out on the tree line about 50 yards from my front door. Lit everything up like it was day. I bought this to replace a Mag-Lite LED XL100 that finally bit the dust and stopped working. The Steamlight is larger but then its also 10x brighter. Easy to go from full on to strobe to low light. I do like the clip on the side. Fits well and snug in the pocket of my cargo shorts. I havent tried to belt holster yet but on examining it it seems well made and fit the flashlight tight but not overly so. It does heat up at the light source but thats to be expected for such a powerful light. The body of the flashlight remains cool. It would have been nice to be able to adjust the focus from a flood to a narrow beam but thats not a deal killer. Addendum: Well, this flashlight just stopped working. No rough treatment, new batteries. It just stopped. Contacted customer support so will see how that works. I registered this flashlight at Streamlight then contacted Customer Service online. I was emailed instructions on returning it to them to repair or replace. It was found that the on/off switch was faulty and was replaced. From the time I contacted Customer Service to getting it back was about a week. Was able to do all this without having to deal with a person and without any hassle. Thank you Stream Light
