> 3 dayI have bought several (8-10) cheaper flashlights, some of which actually still work. However, none compare to the initial quality or brightness of this flashlight. It literally lit up my entire back yard (about an acre) I use it professionally to do inspections. For me its worth the investment. I believe in redundancy, 2 is 1, 1 is none, so Ill probably be buying another soon. Anxious to try with rechargeables.

> 3 dayI have this one, the new Streamlight dual fuel 1000 lumen, and three of the 600 lumen battery only Pro Tac HL. Used as part of my everyday carry gear. Heres the review: The 600 Lumen is BRIGHTER and has a WHITER light. I was surprised by this and used both the rechargeable (Fully charged) and new Streamlight brand batteries. I couldnt believe it. I even tried the same batts out of the 600 lumen. The 1000 lumen Pro Tac HL-X has a yellowish light, and not as bright as the 600 lumen Pro Tac HL. I have called and emailed Streamlight and they are ignoring me.

> 3 dayThis light is very tough and extremely bright. I would recommend this light. The option to run 2 CR123 or 1 18650 is really a great feature. The only complaint I have about the light is it will only accept Button Top 18650 batteries. I actually took the light apart and soldered a gold plated spring I bought from an electronics website to the driver/bulb housing. It now accepts Flat Top 18650 batteries that are more common and you can still use a button top 18650
