> 3 dayIve had this about a year and a half, dont use it daily - mostly on saturdays for a few hours while working on cars. The battery life isnt very good and sometimes it just shuts off when fully charged after being on for only a few minutes. Its bright and the programmable 10 tap is nice.

> 3 dayThe light is very sturdy and compact but, very bright on high. Since this is a recent purchase I do not know how it will hold up but, I seems very durable. So far the battery life on high seems reasonable considering the spot light brightness level and the low setting significantly extends the battery life and is more than sufficent for general use as a flashlight. Compaired to similar lights it seems like a reasonable value.

> 3 dayI wanted a nice bright flashlight for taking my dogs out every night before bed. Only takes about 10 - 15 minutes. It is super bright when you first put batteries in which is great but after about 5 minutes it gets so hot you can barely hold it. There’s even a “hot” warning on the flashlight itself. If you touch the end it feels like it could burn you. That’s ridiculous. On top of that it eats through batteries so fast and the batteries it uses are expensive. Totally not worth it.

> 3 dayTook a while to realize that the button press needed to do the ten-tap programming is a light button press. Once you have the feel of this down the whole thing makes sense. The light is based around light tap and release and full push only when you need to have the light stay on. I changed mine over to Low/Med/High program. The Low and medium should be fine for most day to day chores. The high would be great for use outside and in the great outdoors. This is a rugged essentially tactical system designed for police and security personnel. Two of the programs have strobe. Will get quite hot when on high.

> 3 dayUpdated review: Downgrading to one star. Like several other reviewers (whom I mistakenly ignored when purchasing this flashlight) this flashlight suffered a catastrophic failure just one week after being received. I used it for less than a total of 20 minutes and yet the brightness of the flashlight is now less than 25% of the reputed 1000 lumens. I did not drop it, kept it in the case when not in use, and turned it on for no more than 2 minutes at a time. When it worked (that is - for the first few days) it was nice and bright. But it suddenly and inexplicably stopped shining at the published lumens. (Just to make sure it wasn’t stuck on the low light setting, I activated the low light - it was then no brighter than a tea light!) I have $5 flashlights that are more reliable (and now brighter!) than this one. This is the first and last Streamlight product that I will invest in. Very disappointing. Original review soon after product was received: Solid construction. Very bright light. Clip is awkward and thin. Gets pretty hot. My biggest beef with this is the alternate settings - strobe and low light. The triple-click control is incredibly difficult to execute and frequently takes three or four tries to get the timing just right... Thankfully, I dont need either strobe or low light, so just leave it on the default/single-click (bright) setting.
