> 3 dayAwesome little light. I just let it float free in my pocket and I dont even notice its there. Dont be turned off by the low lumen count, this thing is BRIGHT! The beam is focused with a slight ring around the beam so you can see a big area clearly. The clip can be removed and swapped out for a better one. I dont really care too much about the clip because, like I said before, I let it free float in my pocket. Everything is metal, even the clip. The quality of the light is really good, has an o-ring for the end cap, and it takes 1 AAA. The button is my favorite part about the light. Its either On or Off, you dont have to sit there and cycle through the modes. You can either click it for constant or lightly press it for intermediate light. Since there is no stun mode (which is awesome), you can use the intermediate technique to quickly press it to get the stun effect. It is the perfect size too. Before I bought it, I grabbed a tube of chapstick (one of the reviewers did a side-by-side shot of the light and a chapstick), and I thought it would be too small for my hands (I have large hands). BUT!! Its the weirdest thing because even though they are the same size, the light feels bigger. Just buy the darn thing! I am so glad I got this light. Streamlight, you have done it again!! Cant speak for the quality of surefires micro light but the price is sure a turnoff. I am glad I went with what I know, and streamlight is an awesome company and make great products.

> 3 dayThese are by far the best pocket flashlights on the market IMO. Theyre basically indestructable. Ive dropped mine, left it outside for days on accident, dropped it off a dock to the bottom of a lake, used it underwater... it just doesnt fail. Its perfect when you need light to see up close. Its not made for long range though. Its just not strong enough for illuminating things at a distance, but that should be obvious from the specs. I have mine in my pocket 25/8 and it just never lets me down. 10/10.

> 3 dayI know a thing or two about compact flashlights, as I have carried the Stylus, Stylus, Pro, and Protac from Streamlight, and other models from 4sevens and other companies. Im going to first address the Pros of the Microstream. --Price. They are almost giving it away. --Good Quality Build (this can always be expected from Streamlight Products) --Uses AAA Batteries (some flashlights use special or hard to find batteries) --Has a decent beam and throw for its size. --Seemingly unaffected by the elements. --Good on/off button (some flashlights have a week button, which will turn on in your pocket and run the battery completely down...ahem 4sevens Preon 2) --Bi-direction clip that can stay strong in a pocket or clipped in reverse on the brim of a hat (this is why I purchased the item, and it works very well. Streamlight clips are some of the best, and if they break, Streamlight will send you a new one for free if you contact their customer service department.) Now for the Cons. --Short Battery Life (expected with a single AAA). --Smaller beam and throw compared to bigger lights (also expected). --Only 1 mode, on or off (some comparably sized models have Lo, Medium, and Hi, plus strobe, SOS, or beacon signals as options). Summary. If you are looking for a pocket/handy flashlight thats about the size of a fat pinky finger, this is probably the best product you will find for the price. Many are advocates of the 4sevens Preon, and I agree: it is a very fine (and pricy) flashlight. In fact, I have owned several of them. However, if you plan to clip this in the pocket of your khakis or blue jeans, a 4sevens lights Clip will loosen over a period of just a few days of carry and eventually it will fall out of your pocket and youll lose a $50 pen sized flashlight. This has happened to me so many times I will never carry one with me, although I still have them around the house. Go with a streamlight - who cares about have a strobe function on a EDC (every day carry) flashlight anyways.

> 3 day4 or 5 year owner of this flashlight here, I have probably purchased 6 or 7 of these. MY problem is that it is so small and compact that I always lose it before I can experience any problems with it. I work in commercial maintenance and this thing is as big and heavy as the Sharpe I keep next to it in my front pocket. This light goes with me everywhere because it will provide a big enough spread to hold out in front of you for walking. Also however, If i look at something up close like a lock, duct, or really anything, its bright enough to hurt your eyes if you catch a glare on a shiny metal part. The S clip is for your hat or a pocket. Works super well and people I work with are like whaaa!!!. On that note I have raked in business for streamlight as every guy I work with has bought one. I tell them $15 on Amazon and they look down at their own flashlight in disgust knowing what they paid for theirs. If I had to complain I guess after using it every day I would say: The clip spins on the aluminum and scratches a ring around it. Goes away kinda with normal handling and use There is not much , if any warning the battery is low. It has died on me in ceilings and I wasnt happy. Only this last ones hat clip part has broken. The rest with heavy use have not. Maybe a bad one (it happens) If you on the fence between this and a competitor thats in this size/price/brightness/durability/versatility range You cant go wrong with this. And by the way I dont get anything from streamlight OR Amazon for this. Get at me you two im always looking for sponsors. Reviews always help me and I feel like I should pay it forward. So buy it and move on with your life already. Youre welcome.

> 3 day5/5 stars for a great product. The MicroStream is an impressively bright miniature flashlight, and I discovered firsthand that its tough enough to take a real beating. It is as narrow as a tube of chapstick and ~2 cm longer. Included in the package was a genuine Energizer battery, a breakaway lanyard, and an extra rubber pushbutton. Im liable to lose the extra pushbutton before I need it, but its inclusion tells me that this is a product made to endure. Speaking of which, my Microstream recently survived a 30+ foot fall onto solid rock (climbing related mishap - forgot I had left the flashlight in my pocket the previous evening) and sustained only minor cosmetic damage. The battery inside of the flashlight actually malfunctioned due to the force of the impact, but the light itself was unharmed! Impressive, to say the least. I cant comment on battery runtime yet, but after nearly 2 hours of use with the original battery there was no noticeable dimming. All-in-all, the MicroStream is an extremely well-engineered piece of equipment that, while inexpensive enough to knock around without remorse, is also resilient and bright enough to rely on when you need it most. If you EVER find yourself in dark places then you need one of these! ____________________ Pros: phenomenal light output well rounded light spectrum compact - any smaller and you couldnt hold it effectively (very, very) impact resistant relatively inexpensive 1xAAA pocket clip strikes good balance between ease of use and security Cons: easy to misplace/forget due to size beam and brightness are not adjustable Unsure: battery life? (I cant give a typical runtime yet, but it seems good so far: nearly 2 hours from one AAA without noticeable dimming) waterproof? (appears well sealed, but I definitely havent tested this out)

Greater than one weekQuick review: Great focused flashlight for tight quarters. Single AAA battery keeps it small but wont give you more than 2 hours of light. Perfect for electronics work, engine work, keeping in your glove box, taking out the trash, or any other area where you want a lot of light without a lot of fuss. Long review: I love this flashlight over any other Ive ever owned. The 20 lumens of output is intensely bright in a concentrated cone shaped beam (I can see the beam at night its that bright!). At about 8 feet away the main brunt of the light is about a foot or so wide. Furthermore, this light gives out a large dim ring around the center (8 feet wide at 8 feet away). This secondary ring not only makes this light good as a general flood light around the house in the dark; but for close quarters work where 20 lumens is just too much, you can aim a bit to the side and enjoy a more mild 3-5 lumens. In terms of how far away you can use this light, it depends. The beam is very focused so it does carry some light for quite a distance, but because its only a single small LED dont expect that much. Id say that at night it remains good for up to about 20-30 feet and still useful with some squinting at about 50 feet. The light color is 80% white with tinges of blue and yellow mixed in. The build quality is top notch with a sturdy clip and anodized finish. I have scuffed the finish up a bit but the flashlight almost self heals and keeps them hidden. I also get the feeling I could run this over a few times with a car and it would keep on going. For a gauge of how big it is, its about the exact size and thickness of my middle finger (male). I have no problems carrying it in a shirt pocket or side pocket of my pants as though it were a pen, and it doesnt fall out at the drop of a hat. The only obvious downside to a light like this is the size vs battery trade off. Streamlight says that the light will only last about an hour and a half on a single AAA battery. From my experience thats about accurate as well, although I usually change the battery out at the hour mark just to be safe. For me however, I prefer the smaller size over a longer battery life. In summary, this light is easily worth the $20 price tag if you want to take a step up from lesser mini mag lites. Its very comfortable to use and grip, and it seems like itll provide many years of service. As long as you dont mind using up a few AAA batteries, especially if youre a heavy user, you cant go wrong with this flashlight either for yourself or as a gift for others.
