This thing has it all on Mag Lights and the like. Its so easy to use, provides great light, is lightweight, and can go with you anywhere. This is essentially the same review I left for

I use this every day. I didnt expect to appreciate it as much as I do, but it stays on my pocket right next to my EDC.

There are two items that are ALWAYS in my pocket, a small EDC pocketknife and this particular Streamlight C4. I have a drawer full of expensive and not so expensive lights, let me save you trouble, money and wasted energy on auditioning others...This is the PERFECT EDC light. Lets start with the switch, press down slightly for momentary on and more firmly for constant on, much more firmly. The switch is strong enough that it will not inadvertently get pressed on even if you carry it clipped to your front pocket or carried loose in the pocket itself. Nothing as aggravating as having your light come on and deplete the battery by the maker putting a soggy, weak on/off push button switch on it. This light is as bright as the 2 AAA form factor, clips and stays perfectly in a Carharrt T-Shirt pocket and lasts for at least a week of occasional use when loaded with the fantastic Eneloop AAA rechargeable batterys. The pocket/hat clip is S shaped so it clips to your pocket or hat brim or shirt allowing hands free use. The clip is as robust as the switch, I have yet to Spring one by clipping it to too thick of an object and it stays put in a shirt pocket when you clip it in there. Yes, someone mentioned that it scratches the barrel of the light when you unscrew it to change batteries, the face of my hammer gets scratched when I hit a nail also, its a tool, not a piece of jewelry, I dont notice it. I t is also lightweight enough to stick in your mouth when you dont have a cap on, I just wash mine off with a sponge and a little dish soap when I think about it. Have been using it like this for years with out any ill effects or chipped teeth :) The LED is covered by a hard piece of clear glass which is nicely protected by the barrel of the light extending past it by a little bit. All in all, I believe no AAA or AA form factor lights can stack up to the perfect list of features this little light offers , all this for less that $20.00 this is as good as any EDC light gets. I have lights made by 4Sevens, Fenix, Surefire, etc. and would not trade my little C4 for any of them. It does not have a flat base so it will not Tailstand , this is one overrated feature of lights anyways, I would prefer the stiff exposed switch the C4 has to this ability. If I want a Tailstand light I will light a candle :). Bottom Line: Buy this light, you will not be disappointed. I buy them as gifts for friends and family, great for the favorite women in your life to keep in their purse or key chain and any man would certainly love one as a present. I was walking from my truck to the house the other night and would have surely stepped on a 18 copperhead snake in my front yard, in flip flops no doubt! if I had not had this light in my mouth showing the way, I had a load of groceries in each hand....

Quick review: Great focused flashlight for tight quarters. Single AAA battery keeps it small but wont give you more than 2 hours of light. Perfect for electronics work, engine work, keeping in your glove box, taking out the trash, or any other area where you want a lot of light without a lot of fuss. Long review: I love this flashlight over any other Ive ever owned. The 20 lumens of output is intensely bright in a concentrated cone shaped beam (I can see the beam at night its that bright!). At about 8 feet away the main brunt of the light is about a foot or so wide. Furthermore, this light gives out a large dim ring around the center (8 feet wide at 8 feet away). This secondary ring not only makes this light good as a general flood light around the house in the dark; but for close quarters work where 20 lumens is just too much, you can aim a bit to the side and enjoy a more mild 3-5 lumens. In terms of how far away you can use this light, it depends. The beam is very focused so it does carry some light for quite a distance, but because its only a single small LED dont expect that much. Id say that at night it remains good for up to about 20-30 feet and still useful with some squinting at about 50 feet. The light color is 80% white with tinges of blue and yellow mixed in. The build quality is top notch with a sturdy clip and anodized finish. I have scuffed the finish up a bit but the flashlight almost self heals and keeps them hidden. I also get the feeling I could run this over a few times with a car and it would keep on going. For a gauge of how big it is, its about the exact size and thickness of my middle finger (male). I have no problems carrying it in a shirt pocket or side pocket of my pants as though it were a pen, and it doesnt fall out at the drop of a hat. The only obvious downside to a light like this is the size vs battery trade off. Streamlight says that the light will only last about an hour and a half on a single AAA battery. From my experience thats about accurate as well, although I usually change the battery out at the hour mark just to be safe. For me however, I prefer the smaller size over a longer battery life. In summary, this light is easily worth the $20 price tag if you want to take a step up from lesser mini mag lites. Its very comfortable to use and grip, and it seems like itll provide many years of service. As long as you dont mind using up a few AAA batteries, especially if youre a heavy user, you cant go wrong with this flashlight either for yourself or as a gift for others.

Ive been using the Micro stream for about 3 years now and frankly have never found a better value/high quality flashlight. I choice this one because of the tail push button switch, I dont like using twistys, for me they are more awkward and frankly difficult to operate in a pinch. I read a lot of reviews and new this wasnt the brightest or the most in flashlight in this size but nothing else this size seemed to have the tail button or the quality/looks of the microstream. I ended up getting so much more then I bargained for that I cannot bare to use anything else from fenix to quark, and Ive tried. Now I carry one everywhere I go and even bought a spare as a redundancy in my camping pack. It has throws a heck of a long way, lasts forever on one battery and feels good in the hand (solid, as well as ergonomic yet light at the same time.) Ive owned a lot of these, a few Ive lost because of my own fault and one broke for reasons unknown but it was my first, so it was 3 years old and frankly I put them to hard use. I would not that they design, on this most recent order to replace the one that broke because I cant stand not to have one always at my hip anymore, its addictive) has changed. I dont know why they have made the push button cap removable, you can screw the end off and replace the rubber button cover now, and its odd but not a deficit. It is now also about 8 lumens brighter and comparing an old one to this new version its throw is a little longer and it has a wider diameter of light sooner. The only minor complaint I have is that they change the pocket clip. I loved the pocket clip on the old one, simple, easy to use(unbreakable which I thick is a dangerous thing to saw but so far they have all lived up to the promise.) and easy to ease out your pocket. Now they have doubled it back over so that the end of the clip curves back up to the tail. Its not a bad clip its just annoying because the thing is now more difficult to get out my pocket. The design has the effect of making the end of the clip, what I use to hook my finger on to slide it out, smooth. Also it create a kind of second pocket clip because the meta reaches back up tot eh top and the other day it got caught on my seat belt and I ended up leaving the thing in the car. Despite this new and strange redesign on the pocket clip I wouldnt use another pocket flash light simple because there is nothing more I could want, not to say I wont try some others out from time to time. I couldnt recommend it more to anyone who uses one. For those who dont use a pocket flashlight be warned, once you have one, you can no longer live without it.

Pros: I really like the way this light is designed overall. I love how simple it is. You have either momentary or constant on or off. There are no fancy settings that you have to shift through just to get your flashlight on. Also, I obviously like a two way pocket clip and the usage of a standard AAA battery, so I will just leave it at that. Another thing that I have noticed is that the aluminum has been very durable. The MicroStream has thankfully not taken to many falls but it definitely sees some contact with other items in my pocket. Many times I pull it out and it looks like it is pretty roughed up with wear and scratches. Then as soon as I wipe it with my thumb it quickly clears right up. In conjunction with this I really like how it feels in my hand, be it the actual material or the shape and grooves. Lastly, while I think that I would prefer the lumens to be slightly higher I find the 45 Lm to be enough for most of my tasks. Cons: There are only a couple of small complaints I have with this light, starting with the difficulty in fully pressing the tail switch. It definitely takes some real pressure to push past the momentary setting and actually turn the light on. I understand that this helps ensure that the MicroStream does not get turned on when you dont want it, but I wish it was just a little bit easier. The other thing I want to point out is that I wish the body was maybe a fourth of an inch longer at max. This would help get a more full grip on the light and might also help alleviate some of the difficulty activating the switch. Conclusion: Like I said I like this light overall and can ignore the two small issues that I pointed out. It has proven to be a really solid EDC pocket friendly flashlight and I have been truly impressed by the build and design. I find that for the most part the MicroStream fits my hand exactly where I need it to.

Awesome flashlight. Small and compact, good brightness, and even survived being washed in the laundry.

A month or so ago we had some really bad storms and while at work our power went out. Like in most offices we had two flash lights for this type of emergency. I grabbed it and tried to turn it on.....nothing. I checked the batteries and they expired 3 years ago.... I went and checked the other flash light and same story, expired 2 years ago. The best part of getting those flashlights was that we used my Streamlight to find them! Once we put new batteries in those old beasts (using 3 D batteries each) my little guy put out a better light than both. Later after we were sent home early due to now power, I decided to stop by the grocery store for some things. When I got there the power was out throughout the entire store minus the registers. So again, this little guy came in handy and I shopped for groceries in the dark. It totally felt like it was a end of days in there lol. This is my real life application of the Streamlight. Pros: -Small: Smaller than a pen, and fits in your 5th pocket on some guy jeans. -Bright: This has a good beam for the size. You wont light up the world, but for a pocket light trying to get around it serves that purpose well. -Clip: The clip is a double clip. On for a pocket, and the other fits the bill of a hat to mimic a headlamp. ( I use this in my carport since there is not light there. -Single button use: This does NOT have a distress option which I am grateful for. You push the back button on and off. SIMPLE -Sturdy: This guy has a solid feel to it. -Battery: THE HONEST SELLING POINT OF THIS GUY!!!!: it uses one single AAA battery. Not some weird battery size. Very common and easy to come by battery. If I needed to replace this battery in an emergency, SIMPLE! Con: -Finish: After about 2 months of daily carry (in an office setting) the finish has turned to more of a stone washed look. Not a bad look, but just showing wear faster than I thought. All in all this guy sits right with my keys, phone, knife and pen as my EDC set up.
