> 3 dayI bought this light to be included in my edc equipment. I have a full size streamlight, but I found it tricky to carry with me when I wasn’t wearing work pants. This is an awesome solution for someone who wants a bright light in a small package. I have been carrying this daily since I bought it (about 2 weeks), and it works great! I can’t speak to the battery life or water resistance, but if it’s anything like other streamlight models, it should be solid!

> 3 dayI know a thing or two about compact flashlights, as I have carried the Stylus, Stylus, Pro, and Protac from Streamlight, and other models from 4sevens and other companies. Im going to first address the Pros of the Microstream. --Price. They are almost giving it away. --Good Quality Build (this can always be expected from Streamlight Products) --Uses AAA Batteries (some flashlights use special or hard to find batteries) --Has a decent beam and throw for its size. --Seemingly unaffected by the elements. --Good on/off button (some flashlights have a week button, which will turn on in your pocket and run the battery completely down...ahem 4sevens Preon 2) --Bi-direction clip that can stay strong in a pocket or clipped in reverse on the brim of a hat (this is why I purchased the item, and it works very well. Streamlight clips are some of the best, and if they break, Streamlight will send you a new one for free if you contact their customer service department.) Now for the Cons. --Short Battery Life (expected with a single AAA). --Smaller beam and throw compared to bigger lights (also expected). --Only 1 mode, on or off (some comparably sized models have Lo, Medium, and Hi, plus strobe, SOS, or beacon signals as options). Summary. If you are looking for a pocket/handy flashlight thats about the size of a fat pinky finger, this is probably the best product you will find for the price. Many are advocates of the 4sevens Preon, and I agree: it is a very fine (and pricy) flashlight. In fact, I have owned several of them. However, if you plan to clip this in the pocket of your khakis or blue jeans, a 4sevens lights Clip will loosen over a period of just a few days of carry and eventually it will fall out of your pocket and youll lose a $50 pen sized flashlight. This has happened to me so many times I will never carry one with me, although I still have them around the house. Go with a streamlight - who cares about have a strobe function on a EDC (every day carry) flashlight anyways.

Greater than one weekWhy do I choose 5 stars? I have had a lot of terrible luck with flashlights as they are so dull I can hardly see anything (let alone far away) so I decided to invest in what I thought would be good quality flashlights (rather than what others THOUGHT were) and I have not been disappointed. The best part is this is almost too bright! What to do? And also something I like... Press once and hold for as long as you want the light or press all the way down until you hear and/or feel the click and you have a steady stream of light. The flashlight is little, but it packs a punch bigger than any big flashlight I have ever had. You can slip this into your pocket or use the high quality nylon holster that attaches to your belt. This is for ANYONE who wants a bright flashlight: You will not be disappointed if you are wanting a bright flashlight where you can look around your home for danger, look under your car, under your couch for that missing rawhide your dog lost, or just want to tease your dog or cat with the light then this is your light! I live alone and was nervous as I cannot see the entire yard with my high quality work flashlights and I get really scared when I cannot see more than 2 feet as I have had many stalkers. These streamlights will do the trick as they are really bright and you can toss them in your purse or place them in your pocket. I have this one ( Streamlight 66318 MicroStream C4 LED Pen Flashlight), the Streamlight 88032 Protac Tactical Flashlight 1AA with White LED, Black, and the Streamlight 88033 Protac Tactical Flashlight 2AA with White LED. I do not regret my purchase in the least. Do yourself a favor and get a good quality flashlight. What did I dislike about the flashlight? It is too bright as I shined it on some numbers at the back of the TV and I had to point the to not be directly on it. I am not disappointed about this being too bright as I do not have to shine it directly on what I want to see and the brightness is there when I do need it.

Greater than one weekThis little light is PERFECT for every day carry. Im a medic, so I use these a lot on the job and also around the house. Its enough to find your way around a dark room, but not quite bright enough to light up the entire room. Its not designed for that anyway so who cares? For my fellow medics out there, this is way better than a 99 cent white plastic penlight. This does real good checking pupils and such. Its cheap enough to get a couple of them and keep one with your duty gear, and another one for home use. Size-wise its about 1 and a 1/2 the size of an AA battery. Its perfect for holding with your mouth if you need both hands. It also has a two-way clip so you can clip it to the bill of a ball cap facing forward. You dont even have to clip it to your pocket. Its short enough to lay flat in the bottom of a normal pants pocket. Its very lightweight and unobtrusive. Once its in your pocket, you dont even notice it. Battery life is stellar! Not only do I use it for about a collective hour every day, but I have let it burn for hours on end while wrenching on my car and the first battery lasted well over a month. I have had this going on 4 months, and Im only on my second battery. Durability is also stellar! Ive dropped it I dont know how many times, its been fully submerged in water, caked with motor oil, power steering fluid, and dust. I wouldnt go running it over with my car or anything, but for what it is, it can take a beating. I would buy this light again and again. In fact, I didnt realize just how much I would use this light every day until I started carrying it everyday. Now, I feel lost without it! If you can get it for $18 bucks or less, do it. You wont regret it.

Greater than one weekI work in a factory and need a flashlight when working in small, dimly-lit areas or inspecting parts for flaws so I probably reach for my light about 100 times a day. Ive gone through several, mostly of the 2X AA variety that tend to fail after about three to six months. Finally I decided to spend more than $10 and purchased one of these to see if it would fare any better. That was two years ago. So far Its been dropped on a concrete floor, a sharp metal catwalk, and even into a tank filled with nasty water (while lit) multiple times. Its been exposed to high temperatures, high humidity, and its still going strong! The paint is scratched up, the lens is marred, and the rubber over the switch is wearing thin but still functions flawlessly throwing more light than one would think a flashlight of this size ought to be able to. There are a couple of slight cons, though. For one the switch is rather stiff, so it takes a firm press of the button to activate. Not really that big of a deal but just be aware. And secondly when the battery starts to run down the light will simply go off with no warning. Again, not really a problem if you keep an extra battery near by. These problems arent really problems compared to what youre getting, though. Its small enough that you can keep it in a pocket or purse and youll never even notice that its there until you need it. I keep mine clipped to the inside of my pants pocket so I can deploy it instantly at work (or anywhere I am, for that matter) and so far it hasnt let me down. If youre looking for a flashlight that is a workhorse then I highly recommend spending the few extra dollars on this one. You wont regret it.

> 3 dayHands down the best EDC light Ive ever carried. Ive been using this for well over a year now on a daily basis. It has survived multiple drops onto concrete from upwards of 20 feet, rain, diesel, gasoline and everything inbetween. It is very bright for its size, outshining (pun intended) lights that are much larger. It does not burn through batteries at a fast pace and is always reliable when I need it to be. The on/off button still feels just as strong as the day I bought it, and I have never had any issues with it turning on/off or latching. The fact that it can be clipped onto the bill of a hat makes it a no brainer if youre in need of a compact EDC light. Time spent in use is split 50/50 between being in hand or clipped onto my hat, and the clip is still springy and has yet to stretch or bend to the point of it not being secure. If I ever lose it Ill probably buy 2 more... I might even buy 2 more anyway. Theyre that good.

> 3 dayI already carry a pocket knife clipped to my pocket. I was a little concerned about adding a flashlight because of the extra bulk and weight. I shouldnt have worried. Sometimes I notice its there, but its not cumbersome nor does it get in the way. Any consideration of weight or bulk is far outweighed by its usefulness. I never used to carry a flashlight because they were impractically large. Now, I cant imagine not carrying this little guy. Ive grown accustomed to having it at hand since carrying it (for 1 month). I end up using it for all sorts of things. When, in the past, I would be in the middle of a project that needed a little bit of light I would either grab my phone (which is unwieldy) or pause to get a larger flashlight. This little flashlight has brought me moments of delight for having the right tool at hand when I need it. Oh, as to the brightness and quality. I couldnt have asked for better. Its sturdy and I dont feel like daily carry is going to wear it down or cause it to break prematurely. Others have mentioned how the button isnt easy to activate. I dont consider this a negative. For daily carry I think its perfect. I dont want it accidentally turning on. After all, the button is exposed above my pocket and is susceptible to getting bumped or jarred. The brightness is better than I expected and I have yet to pull this out and wish for something brighter. This is the ideal EDC flashlight for your pocket.
