> 3 dayI purchased this MicroStream a few days after purchasing the Streamlight Stylus Pro from my local Snap-On truck dealer. I am an intern at a motorcycle/ATV/snowmobile customization and service shop and had been jealous of the owners Stylus Pro, so I splurged and spent roughly $26 on the Snap-On truck for the instant gratification of having it right then and there, knowing I would find it cheaper the moment I looked online. Not to my surprise I found it on Amazon for about $10 less. I have had it for 2 weeks now and I love it. But it is not perfect. I want to share a few of the ups and downs. Ups: It is small and compact, it fits in my pocket. It is bright enough to allow for closer inspection in a lot of hard to reach and see areas that are common in small engine repair. Its durable. The aluminum body and LED make it more drop resistant than a typical Maglite. The battery life is decent, although I had to replace my first set of batteries after a week (in defense of the light I tend to leave it on unnecessarily while I work). AA batteries are common as they are cheap, and that makes it a good buy in my book. This light feels more substantial than the cheap Rayovac you will find at WalMart or Meijer. The beam is focused and white. Its light enough and small enough to hold in your mouth while working with both hands (if you dont have any type of headband/holding strap). Downs: 20 lumen light is adequate but does not satisfy my inner caveman. Its small enough that it is easy to misplace if you arent careful. Bottom line: The Streamlight MicroStream is a great EDC (everday carry) pocket light that is well made, impact resistant, water resistant, guaranteed for life. For the money I say it is a good buy. Better to spend $20 on this and be happy overall than $10 on a crappy Maglite or Rayovac and be unhappy. One more thing... Dont buy it from your tool guy.. Unless you absolutely have to have it that same day. Otherwise order it online and wait two days to save a few bucks. :)

> 3 day2 years later. Fantastic flashlight. I keep it with my electronics repair bag for working on computers. Just a couple issues I have is how hard it is to press the button. You can unscrew the rubber end cap bit for the button and add a bit of old credit card into there and that makes it much easier to press. Another issue is not having these rubber caps available (that I know of) on amazon. If you use this flashlight much more often then I do. I see this rubber cap wearing down and needing to be replaced. One tiny issue is I originally got the flashlight with the intent of using 3.7 10440 cells to power it. However this isnt really necessary. It could burn out the led faster and there arent many cells available for a decent price. I just use my old Ni-Mh 1.2v batteries and they work just fine for what I use it for. Summery. Great little flashlight. There are others with higher lumen count. But they might not be as reliable. I like mine and its held up great over 2 years. I bought 2 at the time and the other still has the original battery holding a charge.

> 3 dayI keep this flashlight in my daily carry. It is easily tucked in the pocket. The light is bright enough for any job. Instead of the AAA battery, I use the rechargeable 10440 Li-Ion battery that it seems to work well.

> 3 dayI’ve had a few of these things now. I just feel naked now without it. So small it just disappears in your pocket. It’s not the brightest light in the world, don’t expect to be spotlighting deer with it, but it’s perfect for finding the remote under the couch or working under the hood. Pro tip - if you wear a baseball hat you can clip it to the bill of your hat and it acts as a head lamp. Perfect addition to your EDC. Great stream light quality at a great price. Makes a great gift! If your on the fence about this thing do yourself a favor and click the buy now button. You won’t be disappointed.

Greater than one weekThis is about the perfect light for everyday carry. This AAA version is shorter and lighter than the rechargeable version and I prefer simply installing a new battery versus having to recharge. It is sufficiently bright for practical purposes in everyday life. This AAA model has on/off and thats it. No fumbling around with different modes. No nonsense. Pull it off your pocket and hold the button for momentary or click it in all the way to keep it on until you click it again. Heres the homerun: the 2-way clip that allows you to clip this to the brim of your hat for an instant headlamp. Its light enough to not pull your hat down or otherwise be a nuisance. The rechargeable model, in my opinion, has too much leverage and will cause the brim of your hat to drop. Ive lost probably 6 of these over the years and I always order a new one immediately. Its that good. Oh, and its cheap too compared to other brand-name flashlights.

Greater than one weekMy daily carry. Had one for over 15 years but lost it and needed to replace it. Very brightfor single AAA battery and it lasts a long time. 8 know there are brighter rechargeable versions but I prefer this one because batteries are easily available and many times I dont have to plug it in to recharge. I can just replace the battery and have a working light again. Best bang for the buck.

> 3 dayA month or so ago we had some really bad storms and while at work our power went out. Like in most offices we had two flash lights for this type of emergency. I grabbed it and tried to turn it on.....nothing. I checked the batteries and they expired 3 years ago.... I went and checked the other flash light and same story, expired 2 years ago. The best part of getting those flashlights was that we used my Streamlight to find them! Once we put new batteries in those old beasts (using 3 D batteries each) my little guy put out a better light than both. Later after we were sent home early due to now power, I decided to stop by the grocery store for some things. When I got there the power was out throughout the entire store minus the registers. So again, this little guy came in handy and I shopped for groceries in the dark. It totally felt like it was a end of days in there lol. This is my real life application of the Streamlight. Pros: -Small: Smaller than a pen, and fits in your 5th pocket on some guy jeans. -Bright: This has a good beam for the size. You wont light up the world, but for a pocket light trying to get around it serves that purpose well. -Clip: The clip is a double clip. On for a pocket, and the other fits the bill of a hat to mimic a headlamp. ( I use this in my carport since there is not light there. -Single button use: This does NOT have a distress option which I am grateful for. You push the back button on and off. SIMPLE -Sturdy: This guy has a solid feel to it. -Battery: THE HONEST SELLING POINT OF THIS GUY!!!!: it uses one single AAA battery. Not some weird battery size. Very common and easy to come by battery. If I needed to replace this battery in an emergency, SIMPLE! Con: -Finish: After about 2 months of daily carry (in an office setting) the finish has turned to more of a stone washed look. Not a bad look, but just showing wear faster than I thought. All in all this guy sits right with my keys, phone, knife and pen as my EDC set up.
