I bought one from one of the big economy stores, I forget which one, as I belong to both of them. When I bought it, over a year ago, the device was free, but I cant find where they have this device for free, therefore, I purchased it on Amazon for a cost, which IMO was worth it...I bought 2 for a couple people because it so convenient wrapping things, The wrap is sturdy and never tears from the roll. The device is super easy to use and cuts exactly where it needs to be cut. I recommend this to anyone. Would be nice if they made this is different colors, or would ideally like in a stainless.

Bought for disabled person, and yes it does cut cleanly, but its hard to press down for me, much less a disabled person.

Sometimes things in life just annoy you! Trying to tear the vinyl wrap off the cheap box they put it in was was one of those things for me! The cutting strip on the regular box just doesnt work after a short while, and becomes annoying. The Stretch-tite unit works just as advertised cutting even the inexpensive first roll of vinyl wrap that I put in it. As pictured, you can stretch and secure one end of the wrap to the bowl you are covering, and then after cutting it to the desired length its easy to finish stretching and sealing the bowl entirely! You do want to keep the unint closed with the little lever provided as reaching into the unit to pick it up exposes your fingers to the extremely sharp cutting edge! This unit works, and is well worth the price to me. Therefore, I gave it a five star rating! I think youll enjoy yours, too!

How many times have you fought with the plastic wrap while trying to put away leftovers? How frustrating has this been for most of us? VERY frustrating is my answer. Didnt you ever dream of a machine that would solve the plastic wrap problems-ALL OF THEM? DREAM NO MORE! This has got to be one of, if not the best, non-powered kitchen appliances I have ever seen. Actually, this fits the description of MACHINE perfectly: an apparatus using or applying mechanical power and having several parts, each with a definite function and together performing a particular task. Whoever designed this product realized that something that needs to function in a specific way need not be complicated, nor does it need to be expensive. Add to this an instruction sheet that was so simple, even a caveman can do it. Took me the best part of 5 minutes to put my roll of Stretch-tite in the housing, set it up and begin dispensing. It took me this long because I ignored the most important instruction-the first sentence that says Beware the cutting blade hidden in the lid. It is very sharp and will cut easily or words to that effect. Thats exactly what happened. I could hear the JAWS music in the background and the machine saying See, I warned you! (Please see my pictures and commentary on the product page.) After the successful first aid treatment, it was ready to go. This machine is so simple and easy to use I almost didnt believe it. The RARE and COVETED FIVE STAR RATING. I highly recommend this product but need to add a few things. FIRST-follow all the instructions. It is supplied with two snap-on feet with non-slip material and is designed to be used on the counter or other flat surface. ONLY use the machine with Stretch-tite plastic wrap, and make sure youre feeding it from the back forward, not the other way around or it wont dispense properly. Trying to use it with any other wrap, aluminum foil, wax paper, etc. will simple ruin the cutting blade. DO NOT try to pickup the machine by the lid when it is opened or you will discover how sharp the cutting blade is. And lastly, dont overthink the instructions. I tend to think things are more complicated than they really are. This is EASY. With a little practice youll be off to the races in nothing flat. And remember, plastic wrap can be used for so many other things besides food. HAPPY WRAPPING!

One of the best things Ive purchased! You avoid waste (of plastic wrap) by putting your plate or container right to the dispenser wall, pull out the plastic wrap to the edge of the opposite side of your plate or container, flip down dispensers lid to cut the plastic wrap, and the plastic covers your plate without folds and fidgeting on your part to straighten the folds, then you just tuck in the plastic around the sides of your plate. Prior to owning this, I could not imagine whats the big deal! Why would I need a dispenser when the plastic wrap comes with its own zipper-like cutting edge. Well, the first time I used it, I knew right away the convenience! You really dont want to be fidgeting with plastic wrap; you want a straightforward, clean, easy process. You hardly handle the plastic wrap because it just folds down on your plate or container and all you have to do is tuck it in. Its so worth the price and the premium real estate it occupies on the kitchen counter! I also like the quality and weight of the Stretch-lite plastic wrap itself and how much of it is in there that you wont have to reload until maybe a year or two.

My counter space is very limited and since this item claimed to have a mounting option I was hoping to mount it to a wall. Unfortunately, it does not function in that configuration. My guess is the mounting holes are intended to mount to the counter surface. There should also be some type of warning or statement that once the stabilizers are securely in, they are secured. They are not coming back out without breaking something. Once I realized I could not mount it, I put the stabilizers on to see if I could find a counter or shelf home for it but nothing worked. So I figured I would just keep the dispenser in the drawer that I keep the wraps in. It was too big with the stabilizers and I could not get them off! Therefore, Im returning.

I love this dispenser. I cook a lot of cake and I cut it in slices and wrap in plastic wrap to freeze it. I cant tell you how much I hate dealing with plastic wrap. No more struggle. I saw Ina Garten use it on her show and I immediately order it. All cooks will really appreciate the convenience.
