> 3 dayI got this for my mom so she can keep a little cooler on long walks. Its definitely shiny and reflective, but I guess I expected it to be more lightweight or portable or something because its supposedly for sun rather than rain. I havent weighed it or anything, but just by feel, other than the shininess it seems pretty indistinguishable from other (usually cheaper) travel umbrellas.

Greater than one weekIt’s a great size umbrella for one person, it’s okay ish for 2 people to share. Does a pretty good job blocking out sunlight :)

> 3 dayUV protection-Great Size-Great Turns inside out-ALWAYS. Unable to use in mildest breeze. Totally unacceptable. Otherwise, looking for replacement that can be used in real life….

> 3 dayWorks good for price. Vents work ok still had it blow over in gusts. Sun protection and size good for basic use in tropics.

> 3 dayI have been using this umbrella daily for a few weeks and so far it has worked well for rain and sun. The only reason for the four star review is that in order to close it I have to push the open/close button to contract it and then place it on the ground and to push it to full closure. I tried repeatedly but was unable to close it by pulling by hand and cut my finger on a sharp edge when I tried to close it any other way that described above. Be careful of the sharp edges or have bandages ready.

> 3 dayWeve only had these a week but my sister and I take them on daily walks. We both avoid the sun but find hats quite hot and not quite adequate for full face and neck coverage. These umbrellas have what appears to be a very sturdy mechanism for opening and closing and definitely not only keep you from sunburn but also make a mini cool climate. I use a larger version for days when Im alone walking gardens or touring but this smaller size is perfect for travel and for walking with someone who has their own umbrella. Its also handy when the park where we go had the sprinklers running. So far so good. I will say that they are a little heavier than many travel sized umbrellas but I hope that speaks to the metal being sturdy. The last version I had was much lighter broke after very few times being used.

> 3 dayI weighed the umbrella and I got 14 1/2 ounces rather than 13 ounces. I got it for a Disney vacation, but I think Im going to take my regular umbrella instead since it is lighter in weight. Id rather get a little sun, then lug a heavier umbrella. It just seems so much heavier than what Im use to. I do appreciate the free returns, but Ill probably just keep it for walks in the Michigan summers.

> 3 dayI have long used umbrellas for sun protection. This is the best one I have found so far. There are three main points. First, the top is silver in color and highly reflective. This is good because it does not transmit a lot of heat downward in the hot sun. Some umbrellas are black on top, and that makes no sense if heat is an issue. Second, the underside is black, and that is good. UV radiation reflects from all around just like normal visible light; it does not only come from above. The bright sand on the beach is sending lots of UV in your direction. So the underside should not reflect that UV radiation back down toward you. A blue color is the worst, since blue is very close to UV in the radiation spectrum, and a bright blue underside means that the reflective UV is hitting you. Black is the best since it reflects very little of anything. The third point is that the umbrella works well as a push button collapsible. One push and the umbrella is up and covering you, and another push and it is collapsed. Some other umbrellas do this as well, but this feature in a UV umbrella is nice. It collapses small so I can carry it in my motorcycle bag.
