I bought this a few years ago so that I could be protected from the sun while having to walk a lot and wait at bus stops a lot in the city. I love that it just pops open with a one-handed push and collapses with a second push. My only critique is that, once you push together the ends of the collapsed umbrella, it still does not fit in the carrying case. Otherwise, I love it so much that I got 2 more so I can have one each for my work locker, my car, and home. It protects well from the rain too, so this is an all-purpose umbrella that I never want to be without. By the way, THANK YOU for understanding that light colors reflect the sun and dark colors absorb. Ive seen so many products that I would love to get if only they had the light color on top and the dark color on the bottom.

I used this umbrella on the hottest day of the trip. It blocked the sun and kept me cool. It was a bit on the heavier side and being that I have an old injury on my shoulder carrying it in my backpack did become and issue if I was carrying it there. Other than that it was perfect. Loved it and used it in areas where there was absolutely no shade to sit and eat or drink. I love this umbrella so much!

    Greater than one week

The umbrella mostly serves the purpose to shield majority of the sun light. But the quality of the fabric is so low, many holes are already found when the open the package the first time. The quality control is the main compliant for which I will need to return it

I have long used umbrellas for sun protection. This is the best one I have found so far. There are three main points. First, the top is silver in color and highly reflective. This is good because it does not transmit a lot of heat downward in the hot sun. Some umbrellas are black on top, and that makes no sense if heat is an issue. Second, the underside is black, and that is good. UV radiation reflects from all around just like normal visible light; it does not only come from above. The bright sand on the beach is sending lots of UV in your direction. So the underside should not reflect that UV radiation back down toward you. A blue color is the worst, since blue is very close to UV in the radiation spectrum, and a bright blue underside means that the reflective UV is hitting you. Black is the best since it reflects very little of anything. The third point is that the umbrella works well as a push button collapsible. One push and the umbrella is up and covering you, and another push and it is collapsed. Some other umbrellas do this as well, but this feature in a UV umbrella is nice. It collapses small so I can carry it in my motorcycle bag.

I had purchased it in Sept. 2022. In March 2023, one of the supporting aluminum ribs snapped and broke off. It prevented the opening and closing of the umbrella. Upon contacting the Seller SunGrubbies, I got an immediate response via Amazon link asking me to send the Order Number and my shipping address. I immediately supplied the information, but all of a sudden, the Seller went on radio silence! I followed up twice more but got absolutely no response for a while, but did get back to me to take care care of the situation to my complete satisfaction. Mater of fact, the replacement item got damaged in shipping, so they send me replacement item for that again. Its a company that I am very glad to say that they stood behind their promise of lifetime warranty. I will be more than happy to buy their item again.

I love this umbrella! I live in southern California and the sun is definitely intense in the summer. This blocks the sun, and I do notice that it keeps me cooler than just a standard umbrella. I have had it out on pretty windy days, too, and have never had a problem with it bending backwards. When I originally purchased, I was worried that the handle would be too small to hold comfortably, but when I used it the handle is perfect for me. I would definitely buy again!

This actually makes me cooler unlike other umbrellas in the sun that make me hotter than if I was actually not in the shade at all. Its the perfect size for walks or baseball games. I dont feel bad for taking up a bunch of room. And most importantly, it blocks the suns rays. Zero sunburn while under this umbrella. Love it!

I purchased this umbrella back in April, though it took me a while to get past feeling conspicuous and actually use it. Thanks to the brutal, record-setting stretch of triple-digits days weve had for the past several months, Ive largely gotten over my self-consciousness and have used this umbrella frequently. While it isnt a miracle worker (you wont feel 10 degrees cooler under it, for instance), it does keep you from being seared alive while walking across a hot parking lot. I have noticed that the fabric appears rather thin; the sun is clearly visible when you look up through the canopy. But my biggest complaint is the flimsy aluminum spokes. In under four months of use, one spoke snapped in two upon opening. This, of course, caused the umbrella to open haphazardly. I managed to still use it by pulling down the awkwardly jutting side. Several other spokes have sinced snapped and the umbrella now completely flips up when opened and is unusable. Im now back to being seared while walking across parking lots. This sun umbrella was nice while it lasted, but Im not sure that Im ready to plunk down another $30 for such a cheaply made product.
