This sun umbrella does a great job of keeping off the sun and help to keep you cooler, too, since the sun isnt beating down on your head and shoulders. The only negative I would make is in the design of the umbrella itself. When you try to close it down, unless youre really careful, the ribs of the umbrella tend to dig into your hand. I actually one of the ribs break the skin on the back of my hand one time while trying to close it. Getting it all the way closed into the locked position takes some care and effort.

Dont bother. This thing is useless. If there is even the lightest of breezes it inverts itself. Unless you live somewhere with zero air movement, this will not help you stay out of the sun or rain or anything.

I had purchased it in Sept. 2022. In March 2023, one of the supporting aluminum ribs snapped and broke off. It prevented the opening and closing of the umbrella. Upon contacting the Seller SunGrubbies, I got an immediate response via Amazon link asking me to send the Order Number and my shipping address. I immediately supplied the information, but all of a sudden, the Seller went on radio silence! I followed up twice more but got absolutely no response for a while, but did get back to me to take care care of the situation to my complete satisfaction. Mater of fact, the replacement item got damaged in shipping, so they send me replacement item for that again. Its a company that I am very glad to say that they stood behind their promise of lifetime warranty. I will be more than happy to buy their item again.

Used it for several days at an amusement park and it was a life saver. Kept me cool and shaded. The button to auto open and close is quite stiff and difficult to press. I have a UV umbrella with a hook handle and wanted one more compact that I could slide into my bag. This one fit perfectly and the strap at the end came in handy for positioning if I needed both hands free. Update: Im still leaving this rating at 4 stars, HOWEVER, this is not a rain umbrella. After using this for months, I finally got caught in a rain storm and my head got soaked. The wind vent allows water to get through and it drops on your head. Its not a fast, immediate soaking but water will definitely fall on you.

I got this for my mom so she can keep a little cooler on long walks. Its definitely shiny and reflective, but I guess I expected it to be more lightweight or portable or something because its supposedly for sun rather than rain. I havent weighed it or anything, but just by feel, other than the shininess it seems pretty indistinguishable from other (usually cheaper) travel umbrellas.

I walk at a park in Florida, much of the path is in the sun. This is like carrying a shade tree around, plus for pop up showers, I am prepared either way! It is totally a block from the sun, not like a regular umbrella that is translucent. It collapses small enough for me to carry in the waistband of my park pack.

This sun umbrella is great for the Texas summer heat. I love the automatic open and close. Wouldn’t do without it now. The automatic open feature works when the umbrella shaft has been fully closed; simply push the close button, press the tip of the umbrella to a hard surface (I use the floor of my car), and push down on the shaft. You are then ready to reopen automatically when you need it. I never get sun ir rain when leaving my car, or when re-entering. It offers full protection.

Had this for about a month now. It is holding very well, though the strap broke, the rest is still in good condition. The mechanism works great, I really like that I can open and close it with one hand, especially when Im out walking the dog and only have one hand. It does a good job of giving protection from the sun. Sometimes it feels a little cooler under its shade, but that might just be the breeze and Id like to think that this expensive umbrella can give me more than just shade. It is a little thick at the handle and when folded. Thicker than most compact umbrellas and heavier too (maybe thats why the strap broke). But we cant have it all, can we?

I’ve used a regular umbrella for sun protection (which was still a little sheer) , but I first saw one of these (with the extra silver coating) on a Japanese travel you tube video. I feel like it gives way more protection from the sun. I use a high SPF as well. Had to figure out the one button open and close, but I’m very happy with it so far. The carry case cover sleeve has thick strings so u can drape over your shoulder or attach to a backpack.

So Im a cancer patient. Supposed to stay out of sun. I used this umbrella for the 5 hours I was outside in constant overcast with drizzle conditions in florida. I did not put on additional sunblock. My shoulders, neck, face, and head were extremely burnt when I returned indoors. Ill keep the umbrella for rain showers because it is compact... but please do not make my mistake and think you can substitute for needing high spf coverage sunblock or a long sleeve and a hat.
