SuperSoftstrand 500-Feet Picture Wire Vinyl Coated Stranded Stainless Steel
-
a long way from home
> 3 dayI picked up a freshly framed print from a framer friend of mine and noticed how neatly his back wire was wrapped. I asked if he had a machine that does the wrapping so neatly. No, he said he uses this vinyl coated wire and that it just wraps neatly. I exhibit prints throughout the year and frame most of my own exhibit prints because they are fairly straightforward to frame (I give the more artistic frame jobs to my friend the professional) and until this day I had always used the bare stranded steel and not only was it messy, but it often left me with little bloody holes and slices in my fingers. As soon as I got home from the frame shop I logged onto amazon and looked for the vinyl coated wire. My framing life has been changed forever. This stuff is so easy to work with and just as my friend said, it wraps perfectly. I have no cut fingers and the wire feels incredibly secure. I wish I had known about this stuff before now. And this large roll is not going to be finished any time soon so it really is cost effective to purchase the wire this way. As far as I am concerned this is one of those near perfect products. BOTTOM LINE: if you do your own framing you arent going to find a better wire. Dont go back to those uncoated wires

> 3 dayIf I could rate this product 100 stars, Id do it. For what would have cost about 5x as much at a local hardware store, Amazon is selling this amazing product at an amazing value. What makes this wire so great is just how true to its name it is: its as soft as a babys bottom - which means its super easy to work with. Its flexibility and vinyl coating mean you wont be pricking any fingers with this stuff. The item as currently pictured shows a picture weight limit of 43 lb, but the package I received (same 500 ft super softstrang) has a label claiming a weight limit of 60 lbs. Im using this wire to bind sections of hardware cloth together for making a fence, but this great wire has many other practical applications.

> 3 dayI truly like this wire. It’s not very thin and not so thick, but very sturdy and easy to manipulate. Also it won’t injure your hand because when you cut it, it won’t have sharp ends. So no need to tape the ends. I really like to use it for my canvas.

> 3 dayAfter using this picture hanging wire I will NEVER go back to the cheap stuff again. This is a high quality product that makes handling a painting for hanging a pleasure. I am sure there are lots of happy and less cut up hands on everyone who handled my paintings. It is worth the extra price with enough to hang lots of paintings. I am very happy with this coated stainless steel wire. (which means no rust like the cheaper wires) To all artists who frame their own paintings I highly recommend this. It adds to the quality of your finished piece.

> 3 dayI’ve used this product for well over 10 years on my professional art. It is durable, easy to use, leaves a very clean look, and doesn’t tear up my hands. I have hung large framed watercolors with glass and fill it using this wire, up to 48 x 48“ pieces. I have repeatedly purchased spools of this wire

> 3 dayThis wire has made a big difference in my framing presentations. It’s far better than the non-coated wire I had been using and looks more professional. Will keep using for all my framed prints.

Greater than one weekThis is soooo much better than using the wire! It is soft and supple and very easy on the hands! Will be back for more when I run out! I am not worried about my customers getting poked with wire any longer!
