    Greater than one week

Probably more wire than Ill ever need, but having this beats going to the store constantly for those small packs of hanging wire. Identical wire to what I used while working in a frame shop. Easy to work with and sturdy.

I almost paid $9 to hang just two pictures but then found this roll of 500 feet for $25!. Thats at least 100 decent sized pictures. I got these hangers:

Great quality picture wire for our old house that has picture rail throughout. No more holes in the plaster wall needed! Purchased in conjunction with 100 Pack Brass Plated Steel Picture Rail Hooks Wide

I am a professional picture framer. I have used coated wire for a long time as it makes a nice clean look. I bought this for an art show of my paintings. Doubled up on the loop and twirled around like I always do. The way this coating is one here, it can slowly slip and come undone. One of my pieces went crashing down and luckily had a frame on it to take the blow. Frame was ruined. I dont know if this is cheaply made or the coating is SUPER soft, more than normal? But we had to go around and double KNOT all the wire on the pieces to prevent it from slipping out of what is a normal double loop best practice in framing. Would NOT buy again, and will only use this for small pieces from now on. (The piece in question was not over the weight limit of the wire either) I have framed for top galleries, and framed very heavy pieces and have never had anything fall before.

This is my go to picture wire. Its easy to twist on the ends and wont stab your fingers in the process. It holds over 40 pounds, but your end tying technique needs to be up to par with that kind of weight or I imagine it will unwind if you simply twist the ends. You just need a decent cable cutter or it will still fray the ends a bit.

Spool arrived broken / split - which will make it very difficult to use as this is a 500’ roll of wire.

I work as a handyman. Lately I have been doing a lot of picture hanging. Maybe a 45 LB wire is overkill on tiny frames ( < 10 lbs) but the ease of use, and having it on a spool is a real time saver. But, whenever I use this product, I get flashbacks to my childhood, watching the Roadrunner cartoons, thinking about the Coyote and a spool of fuse wire for dynamite, that somehow always ended badly for the Coyote.

Product arrived on time and was as expected except... One of the plastic outer circles was broken, making it a little hard to unwind. Not unusable, though.
