> 3 dayI was hesitant to buy this because I usually like to smell a soap first before buying it. But at the end of the day, I am glad I bought it! It smells great and it makes a nice thick lather. I also found it to be kind of a thirsty soap. It can accept a lot of water!

> 3 dayI really like Tabac. The scent isnt for everyone, but I like it. Lathers like crazy in our water. Excellent cushion but not the slickest. Still, its always in my top tier rotation.

> 3 dayIm exactly one year into wet shaving with a DE safety razor, and this is. A Hannukah gift to myself. Ive used about 10 different shave soaps and creams, and my current soaps are proraso, bigelow, Tobs, AOS, VDH, Speick and Kiehls. Inside the box was a pouch bubble wrapped and taped tightly. Under that was another layer of tightly taped bubble wrap, all wrapped in thick brown paper. Amazing packaging! The elegant plastic windowed box, which was also taped, was a nice, heavy ceramic jar with a brown top and a nice big soap, with a good scent. My wife LOVES the smell. I knew this was coming and had not shaved in about 4 or 5 days. I actually contemplated waiting another week, but couldnt wait, so prep began. My Parker badger brush slightly wet got about 5 to 6 turns on the disk and the lather that occurred was enormous, thick and slick, with a light scent, not too much. This is the slipperiest, slickest, thickest, and richest lather possible. The absolute standard for a perfect lather. Perfect for folks that need to work on their technique achieving a good lather, which should never be overlooked during prep. As I continue to try new products, techniques and pass along this knowledge to newcomers. This would be my first recommendation for a begginers wetshaving kit. Around 30 dollars for soap seems exorbitant. However, this will last me at least 18 months, or more. A good value imho. Describing shave soap usually gets a ymmv. However, that is NOT the case here. This will be the best soap for everyone that wants to start wetshaving. Every aspect makes a difference in the result. Dont pass on Tabac.

> 3 dayAt first smell I didnt like this soap at all. At day or two later the smell had toned down to where it was quite nice. Im keeping this soap as a replacement for Cella soap which doesnt get along with me at all. The shave with Tabac it very nice.

21-11-2024This is one of the nicest shaving soaps available anywhere in the world. It quickly forms a rich thick lather and provides excellent lubrication for a very smooth shave. It has prolonged my blade life far beyond what I used to get when using a canned goo and Tabac provides a wonderful scent not found anywhere else. Another advantage over the canned goos is this one jar will last literally for a year or more. Between this and my tub of Proraso, I am set for a long, long time.

> 3 dayYeah this shaving soap is pretty awesome. Soak your brush in warm water for a few minutes then work the soap. Watch it explode. I bring the loaded brush up to my skin and lather on the face directly. Makes a thick, creamy, phenomenal lather. The scent is strong at first, but after a few uses it greatly subsides. Now it just smells like a very lightly scented soap. So I wouldnt let too many comments about the scent steer you away. Cant go wrong.

> 3 dayIf you traditional wet shave and lather with a brush, you really should try Tabac. Its a lather monster! super slick and gives a great shave. I have hard water and it still lathers really well. The smell is really light. I wish it the smell was stronger.

> 3 dayI love this Soap! Its easy to build a a lather. And, it always makes a rich creamy, protective lather. The ceramic bowl is the perfect size. It fits into the hand nicely and allows for very easy brush loading. The loose fitting lid allows you to cover the container and still have circulation to air things out. You can then simply set it on your bathroom counter without having unsightly, used soap exposed. Add to this a terrific old-school barbershop scent, and youve got a winner! Definitely in my top five shaving soaps! Everyone doing the traditional wet shave needs to have this as part of their shaving gear! You will not be disappointed!
