Greater than one weekTabac does the job, just like all the other shaving soaps and creams. But it is nothing special. I find it less slick than many. It also dries on my face quickly compared to other products. My main knock on Tabac is that it builds up on my blade edges and often will not dislodge without disassembly. When shaving with my slant bar and Tabac I put a layer of Creamo on first to lubricate my face better for an extra margin of safety. I wont buy this product again.

> 3 dayYee Haw! I’ve been wet shaving since 1967, and this is the best shaving soap I have come across yet! It lathers thick and rich and provides an awesome layer of comfort and protection. If you nick yourself you almost have to try. I just wish I had purchased it sooner. I have several shave soaps that I use in rotation, but I think this is undoubtedly the best. You just gotta give this one a try. I don’t think you’ll be disappointed!

> 3 dayI was hesitant to buy this because I usually like to smell a soap first before buying it. But at the end of the day, I am glad I bought it! It smells great and it makes a nice thick lather. I also found it to be kind of a thirsty soap. It can accept a lot of water!

> 3 dayWhat can I say. This is a classic soap. Its very smooth and stays moist on the face a bit longer than my go-to Barrister & Mann Tallow soap. The scent is a bit classic as well. My wife called it an old-man scent, but I use a daily strong scented aftershave tonic that compliments the scent makes the scent a bit more modern. Overall, Id give it a 10/10 for lubrication and smoothness and a 7/10 for the scent. As far as presentation, the bowl is second to none. Its a hefty, well presented white colored glass with brown metal lid.

> 3 dayIm exactly one year into wet shaving with a DE safety razor, and this is. A Hannukah gift to myself. Ive used about 10 different shave soaps and creams, and my current soaps are proraso, bigelow, Tobs, AOS, VDH, Speick and Kiehls. Inside the box was a pouch bubble wrapped and taped tightly. Under that was another layer of tightly taped bubble wrap, all wrapped in thick brown paper. Amazing packaging! The elegant plastic windowed box, which was also taped, was a nice, heavy ceramic jar with a brown top and a nice big soap, with a good scent. My wife LOVES the smell. I knew this was coming and had not shaved in about 4 or 5 days. I actually contemplated waiting another week, but couldnt wait, so prep began. My Parker badger brush slightly wet got about 5 to 6 turns on the disk and the lather that occurred was enormous, thick and slick, with a light scent, not too much. This is the slipperiest, slickest, thickest, and richest lather possible. The absolute standard for a perfect lather. Perfect for folks that need to work on their technique achieving a good lather, which should never be overlooked during prep. As I continue to try new products, techniques and pass along this knowledge to newcomers. This would be my first recommendation for a begginers wetshaving kit. Around 30 dollars for soap seems exorbitant. However, this will last me at least 18 months, or more. A good value imho. Describing shave soap usually gets a ymmv. However, that is NOT the case here. This will be the best soap for everyone that wants to start wetshaving. Every aspect makes a difference in the result. Dont pass on Tabac.

> 3 dayIve heard you either love it or hate it ... count me in the former. Cant quite place the smell, other than everything you remember about the old barber shops rolled into one. Ill definitely continue to buy this one. drf

> 3 dayGreat stuff, good lather, nice smell nothing flowery just a hint of lotion. The container is ceramic or glass. The top is plastic, it stays on but there isnt any type of hard seal so dont tip it if you dont want the lid to come off. I soap wont come out but I wouldnt go around shaking it. Lathers in half the time as the previous soap I was using, a Taylor of Old Bond Street product. I liked Taylors stuff but this one is better. I have been using it everyday for 4 weeks and havent put a dent in it. I estimate ~4-6 month usefully life. If I am wrong I will update it later but I reckon I am not.

> 3 dayGives the best and closest shave, but it may make my skin a bit dry. Hard to tell with the weather.
