Taylor of Old Bond Street Peppermint Shave Cream (5.3 oz)

I didnt know what I was missing. I was missing a cool refreshing close shave free of nicks. I had grown accustomed to my old soap; thankfully it ran out. I bought this one because it had LOTS of great reviews and I read / believe reviews. So if you read this one believe it. This stuff is awesome right out the box. It covers so well smells so great and provides a wonderful shave. I have been using soap, brush, and old school double head razor for about 6 years. This is THE BEST soap I have ever used. If there is something better I want to know what it is. I truly appreaciate the entire package - smell, coverage, feel, and close clean cut free shave.

PROS: Foams up very quickly so it doesnt take 1+ mins to lather up like some other soaps. Cost efficient. CONS: Sometimes the lather will get sticky when on face. This can be fixed by using more water when lathering. NEUTRAL: The peppermint smell is not subtle, its sweet like candy, so expect that. 4/5

I am a HUGE fan of Taylor of Old Bond Street. My go-to is usually the Eton College shave cream, but I am also what some might crudely call a menthol slut. Well, Clubmans Osage Rub is my guilty pleasure, so I thought a nice peppermint oil laden shaving cream by TOBS would be a great addition to my gourmet shaving kit. Boy was I right! Now, this cream wont burn your face or anything, but as you brush the lather on your face, you can instantly feel the cooling sensation. Its wonderful. You cant feel any fresher than this while shaving...or can you? Rinse off when youre done, then slap on some Osage Rub and REALLY make your eyes water! This shave cream gloriously intensifies the effect of that aftershave, which is my #1 favorite thing about it!

Hands down best stuff Ive tried. Its a bit on the pricey side, but worth every penny. Leaves a cooling mint effect on your skin thats soothing and never too strong. After I switched to this, found I dont need aftershave anymore. I recommend it to anyone who shaves, but especially those that shave with double edge safety razor like myself.

I very rarely write reviews for items I purchase on Amazon however I am so satisfied with This saving cream that I had too write a review. This shaving cream lathers vey quickly and with very little cream. The peppermint cream allows for a smooth shave and leaves the face feeling refreshed. I would highly recommend this product and I know I will purchase again myself!

This is the 5th TOBS that I have tried. The smell is very minty and leaves a nice tingle on my face. Perfect for those that shave in the morning, it helps open my eyes in the shower. The cream lathers quick and a little bit of product goes a long way. I have been pairing the cream with a feather as-d2 razor. I would use this cream again, although I am sure I will try another scent before I finish this one.

I have several TOBS soaps and they all perform well, but the Peppermint is by far my absolute favorite. The cooling effect of the soap on the skin is like having a good level of menthol without being over the top, which is truly a plus in my book. The scent is clean and pure Peppermint, you know its there as soon as you open it. After a great shave you are left with a cool moist skin feel. You can pair this scent with many of your favorite aftershaves without any problem.......It Is a Keeper.

I have used this three times so far it is very comparable to tobs almond as far as performance. It does have a very strong peppermint smell I have read some reviews that say it smells like candy cane. To me it is reminiscent of that but not as sweet of a smell. The best part of the peppermint is the feel to me its almost like using a menthol shave cream and its very refreshing when your done and splash your face with cool water. This will be in my regular rotation for sure and as always with tobs a little goes along way. I use this with a double edge razor and good badger brush I also face lather no bowl and have no issues with lather. It does have a slight tingle to it similar to menthol so I am not sure how people with sensitive skin will react to it. I do not have sensitive skin and have had no issues.

LOVE THE SMELL AND FEEL

I started shaving with a brush and safety razor about a year ago. I started with products from The Art of Shaving. Their cream (lavender) was hard, clumpy, and hard to lather. Taylor of Old Bonds Street Peppermint Shave Cream is awesome! It is creamy, smooth, and feels amazing on your skin. I get a much closer and smoother shave with this stuff than with the last cream I had. The peppermint oil leaves your face feeling cool and refreshed. I think Ive found my shave cream for life. -------------------------- Update (2 months later) I have been using this shaving cream for just a couple months, and it has worked magnificently. I normally shave 2-3 times a week, and when I do shave, I only use a small dime-sized portion of shaving cream on my brush. Using that amount over the last couple months, I have barely made a dent in the container. This stuff is going to last me a long time. What I have liked about this cream: - The smell is amazing - Even after two months, it still feels like butter (actually more like cool frosting) - The lather is thick and substantial - The stuff leaves your face feeling cool and refreshed (Note: I use a safety razor and a pre-shave oil before my shave)
