> 3 dayWith this platform/bracket feel way safer wrestling to put a +60lbs, unwieldy, fragile in the back, pain in the everywhere ac unit in. 30 secs to put together, 5 stars. Once in properly really sturdy and easy to maneuver big ac in place, 5 stars. Getting properly in place, 3 stars for 2 easy to fix problems. First, the feet should not be able to flip a full 180°, a small bit of metal would have saved me 10 minutes of thinking got legs at right lengths only to discover the feet had flipped...again. Second, the legs push pins popped out of place, which meant I had to remove the leg from the frame, fish the metal clip out, and pop the pins back in holes. This happened on both legs. A simple fix would be put a piece between the pins so they cant be popped completely out of the holes of legs but could still be adjusted on the holes of the frame. Just saying that these are easily fixed issues and should have been awhile ago. Also, maybe make the arch on the front of the frame 1/2inch longer for those of us who need to put a 2×4 under frame to lift over frame of window.

> 3 dayI really a sturdy product, and very easy to install. Only thing is I wish I can get the shelf arm closer to the outside wall. Because the adjustment arm hole in 5ge last one. The arm still fall from touching the outside wall. I need the pull in my windows air-conditioning more in to the window, so the both outside support arm can touch the outside wall to support the air conditioning. That is why I give it a 4 Stars.

> 3 dayI was so enthusiastic about this product. A screw-free design was exactly what I was looking for (I even googled it), as Id like to move my small Frigidaire AC from room to room as needed. I dont plan to use the AC extensively anyway, just need it for those random hot days on the coast. Thus I really wanted to avoid putting holes and hardware all over my window. I carefully read the description and my Andersen vinyl-clad windows fell neatly within the specs described. No rep contacted me after the sale, as other reviewers have stated. The shelf arrived in two days, and was incredibly easy to put together. Its a slick little shelf that is engineered smartly and sturdily. Every part was pressure-button adjustable; I didnt even need a screwdriver to put it together. The pressure buttons have a front and back, with the back slightly offset so there is no risk of the bar sliding uncontrollably when you depress the button. Thoughtful safety feature. Of course then I carried it to the window and attempted to install it. No matter how I situated it, I couldnt make it sit flush...with anything. The brief instructions are void of adequate diagrams, and the one photograph online doesnt sufficiently illustrate how the sill stop wings sit. The frame rail sits inside the window on the sill. But when the wings are extended to the window frame, they are notched in a very specific pattern which doesnt necessarily reflect that of the window trim. If the trim has any profile other than a plain 90 degree corner, it isnt going to fit cleanly. So there was a sizable gap between the frame rail and the sides of the window. Once seated on the sill, it tilted precariously on the outside portion, as the outer window ledge is angled downward for drainage (arent they all?), leaving only the legs to support the unit outside the house. This still might have been acceptable, but the angles were so sharp that, once the square upper sash was lowered onto the tilted top rail of the AC, there were gaps all around - a job worthy of a can of spray foam. The lower rail of the AC didnt even fit square within the frame rail, since the shelf was angled and the AC wanted to sit relatively square. When the AC side panels were extended, the resulting side gaps were enormous. I didnt expect an airtight fit, but the fit was so haphazard it seemed like the AC and the shelf were built for two entirely different purposes. The AC is already designed to seat with a downward draining angle; perhaps it was just poor fit that gave the shelf itself an approximate 10 - 15 degree slant. If the AC rail wasnt lodged inside the frame rail, it would have simply slid off the shelf. After adjusting and shifting and angling and maneuvering, I finally pulled the shelf out and rested my little AC directly on the sill, lowered the upper sash and extended the side panels. I included the picture herein, because with a near-perfect fit like this, I dont think I need to drop $100 on a shelf that will move my 41lb AC into a cockeyed position that will require miles of insulation and a handful of screws. That kind of defeats the goal of keeping it portable, so unfortunately the shelf is going back. On the bright side, this is a rockin little AC, and the $100 refund comes close to paying for a second one - maybe I dont need to move it from room to room after all.

> 3 dayI was very impressed with the apparent quality and workmanship of this unit (very versatile for just about any size and application) so I was very disappointed when my contractor tried to install it but said it would not work with my new Frigidaire window a/c unit. Im not a contractor so I cant say for sure why not, but I believe it had to do with the way the base of the a/c was made. They spent a lot of time trying to get it to work, but could not. Amazon return was smooth and painless - but I wish it would have worked. My a/c was installed in a window right over the street and if for no other reason but for visual assurance I wanted a beefy looking shelf unit to support it, and I am sure this would have been perfect -- even though Frigidaire said the a/c did not need any additional support. My 18,000 btu unit was very heavy and the contractor ended up fabricating his own supports for my peace of mind :-). I wish I could give further detailed information as to why it would not work with my a/c (it fit into the window perfectly) to help those reading this review decide whether to purchase - but Im not exactly sure what the contractors were up against but I do know they tried very hard to get it to work.

> 3 dayThis bracket is dead-simple to set up and get in the window. However, Ive had quality issues with both units that I ordered. The first unit arrived with part of the main piece bent, which prevented one of the legs being inserted. The replacements right wing, which is one of the pieces that braces against the window frame, has a lock pin which doesnt seem to fit securely into the holes in the wing. The motion described in the manual to adjust the wing causes the lock pin to fall out. The left wing does not have this issue. Im not sure to what degree this affects the sturdiness of the bracket, but Im a little afraid to put an air conditioner on top of it.

> 3 dayI rent a duplex house that was built in the late 1920s and live on the second floor. Thus, I try to avoid putting holes in things if I can. Enter: Top Shelf No Drilling bracket thingy. It was very simple to put together and is quite sturdy. My 12,000 BTU window unit is about 65 lbs and it handles it just fine. The only drawback that my bf and I had with installing this is that when we pushed the feet against the house, then the flat surface that holds the AC unit is too level and loses that slight backward tilt that is necessary for the condensation to drain back away from the house. The front part of the bracket doesnt sit perfectly flush against the window from the inside either. So, we had to settle for letting the feet face back away from the house to get the necessary angle. Aside from that, Im quite pleased with this product.

> 3 dayI dont understand how people have an issue with this thing.. I didnt even need the instructions.. How the mechanism worked was very self explanatory. And no i do not have built up siding on the house. I had it put together and installed in my window in about 5-6 minutes (had to tweak the length on the two arms to get it straight and tight). And that was just because I didnt double look when I first put it up so that was all on me, I think I could have been done faster with some more thinking capacity lol. All in all my AC was in my window in 10 minutes. Oh and dont get discouraged if it says it wont ship UNTIL a certain date.. I was heart broken when I saw that I wouldnt get it until next week. However seller contacted me to ENSURE it would fit my window since that has been the complaint, I double checked my measurements and said yes I commit to the purchase THEN he charged my account and shipped my unit on Monday (I ordered it Saturday or Sunday) and I got it today.. It is sturdy, well balanced, and SOOOO easy.. Worth every penny to me. I have a feeling this one will last many years..

Greater than one weekI dont typically write reviews but I had to this time. I dred summer. Actually, I dred air conditioning install time. I have rigged up different contraptions over the years to act as makeshift platforms for my various air conditioners. We recently put in new windows and the problem on only got worse. Nothing to screw into and sudden doom awaiting me if I damaged the windows in any way. Until this year. This adjustable platform from TopShelf is...well...top shelf! Even how it was packaged in the box was professional and all about ease. Some assembly is required so put aside some time...such as a 2-3 minutes. Really. It was ready to put in my window in about 3 minutes after opening the box. I bought a couple for my various ACs. I spent maybe 5 minutes adjusting the first one to fit my window perfectly. After that, I immediately set all the others to the same pin locations when taking them out of the box. The ACs went in like a dream. I have so much extra time I decided to write this review. These are well worth the money. No tools needed. No dread of damaging the windows. Totally awesome!
