> 3 dayI have an older house with a mix of windows - some with storm window frames, and newer ones without those frames. This bracket will not work on the windows with storm frames because it is designed with the assumption that the sill and stool will be continuous, but in the case of the storm frame, the bracket cant sit properly on the stool -- the horizontal piece in the front -- because the frame gets in the way. Also, the spring-loaded buttons that are supposed to lock the support arms in place do not work in unison. That is, when one button is engaged in a hole, the other is compressed within the frame and off-center from its corresponding hole. The bracket is fairly sturdy, but I am very disappointed overall in its performance.

> 3 dayThis bracket is dead-simple to set up and get in the window. However, Ive had quality issues with both units that I ordered. The first unit arrived with part of the main piece bent, which prevented one of the legs being inserted. The replacements right wing, which is one of the pieces that braces against the window frame, has a lock pin which doesnt seem to fit securely into the holes in the wing. The motion described in the manual to adjust the wing causes the lock pin to fall out. The left wing does not have this issue. Im not sure to what degree this affects the sturdiness of the bracket, but Im a little afraid to put an air conditioner on top of it.

> 3 dayThis ac mount is well made. It was packed well too. My Milgard windows are flush with outside wall. Before purchase, I looked at TopShelf Website. I knew the two feet at base would not touch my wall without a little modification. Each foot is removable and has four holes with rubber cushions inserted. I removed the cushions and attached a piece of primed, painted wood (approx 1 in. pad) using wood screws. I believe the attached wood provides even better distribution of force on the stucco wall. The mount works well and looks good.

> 3 dayI dont typically write reviews but I had to this time. I dred summer. Actually, I dred air conditioning install time. I have rigged up different contraptions over the years to act as makeshift platforms for my various air conditioners. We recently put in new windows and the problem on only got worse. Nothing to screw into and sudden doom awaiting me if I damaged the windows in any way. Until this year. This adjustable platform from TopShelf is...well...top shelf! Even how it was packaged in the box was professional and all about ease. Some assembly is required so put aside some time...such as a 2-3 minutes. Really. It was ready to put in my window in about 3 minutes after opening the box. I bought a couple for my various ACs. I spent maybe 5 minutes adjusting the first one to fit my window perfectly. After that, I immediately set all the others to the same pin locations when taking them out of the box. The ACs went in like a dream. I have so much extra time I decided to write this review. These are well worth the money. No tools needed. No dread of damaging the windows. Totally awesome!

> 3 dayFit great, supports our large ac. We did install a block of wood between the frame and the window, and did end up drilling two small holes for the wings but I didnt mind - worth it for the peace of mind.

Greater than one weekThis mount is a very heavy/sturdy piece of hardware. It adjusted and mounted easily. It definitely made installing my 10,000 BTU air conditioner much simpler. My only complaint is sealing up the gap around the bottom on the ac unit and finding a way to hold the side flaps against the window frame. Overall I am satisfied with the mount and I am considering purchasing another one,

> 3 dayThe buttons were at an angle and didnt line up with the holes on the bracket. Tried our best to finagle them, but to no avail. Happened with both sets that we purchased. Returning.

> 3 dayThis was easy to assemble. It looks nice from the outside. We live in a second story condo and put it in our primary bedroom. It feels sturdy even with a heavy AC unit on it.

> 3 dayYoull likely need a ton of insulating foam to seal up all the cracks this leaves, but it solves a niche issue and for that I am very thankful. The rubber feet pads are terrifyingly hard to press in and fall out almost immediately - also the spring loaded button stops for the arms are not particularly made the best - one refused to pop out no matter what I tried. Rest of the item seems very sturdily built. Like some other reviewers I have outside flush vinyl windows and no real good way to brace a heavier AC. The last AC I put in damaged the window due to its weight so I needed something to help with the bracing, but didnt want to fabricate my own wooden bracket or shove a 2x4 in my lawn. I set this flush with my inside frame, so the arms in front grab on the sides of the window sill - then used a ton of foam to seal up all the cracks. Not the prettiest but definitely is getting the job done so far.

> 3 dayIts important to note that if you have wood windows without an inner frame / lip on the side of the windows, this *will not work*. The tabs on the sides need something to pull back against, if you rest the bottom of the bracket to push inward against the outer edge of the sill, then the A/C will be tilted forward and drain into the room. That said, this is mostly a documentation problem. If you have a window for which it will work, the product is very well made. It does seem like a few modifications could have made it usable for wood windows (e.g. second set of arms with a screw rather than tab-only option.)
