> 3 dayThis was such a delightful surprise! I expected screws and hex bolts and all manner of headaches putting this together. It was so simple, I almost didnt believe it. This is top rated by Wirecutter and theyre on the money with this review!

> 3 dayI loved this easy to assemble, adjustable, very sturdy brace for my window a/c unit. Unfortunately, I could not use it because the shape of the actual air conditioner and window sill combination did not allow the a/c to rest on the brace properly. Bummer—it was exactly what I needed, and would have made seasonal removal so much easier. So there is slightly more to it than measuring the dimensions as suggested in the instructions, but I’m not sure how I would have known without buying it and trying it. (I have the very popular GE Profile PHC08LYQ1 (6150 BTU) and the similar 8100 BTU. They have the same cabinet, so didn’t work with either one, but the problem was how the a/c had to sit in my particular window frame).

> 3 dayYoull likely need a ton of insulating foam to seal up all the cracks this leaves, but it solves a niche issue and for that I am very thankful. The rubber feet pads are terrifyingly hard to press in and fall out almost immediately - also the spring loaded button stops for the arms are not particularly made the best - one refused to pop out no matter what I tried. Rest of the item seems very sturdily built. Like some other reviewers I have outside flush vinyl windows and no real good way to brace a heavier AC. The last AC I put in damaged the window due to its weight so I needed something to help with the bracing, but didnt want to fabricate my own wooden bracket or shove a 2x4 in my lawn. I set this flush with my inside frame, so the arms in front grab on the sides of the window sill - then used a ton of foam to seal up all the cracks. Not the prettiest but definitely is getting the job done so far.

Greater than one weekIts important to note that if you have wood windows without an inner frame / lip on the side of the windows, this *will not work*. The tabs on the sides need something to pull back against, if you rest the bottom of the bracket to push inward against the outer edge of the sill, then the A/C will be tilted forward and drain into the room. That said, this is mostly a documentation problem. If you have a window for which it will work, the product is very well made. It does seem like a few modifications could have made it usable for wood windows (e.g. second set of arms with a screw rather than tab-only option.)

> 3 dayI had a nightmare time trying to install my 12000BTU AC in my condos window. The window is old and the sill is strange, and other brackets that required bolts just didnt line up properly. I decided to go with this one after reading the wirecutter review and wow did it do the trick. I simply installed the arms and the locking mechanisms and it fit just right. It turned a project I dreaded doing into something I found quite easy and fun. Would buy again.

22-11-2024This is very well constructed and very sturdy... but is not designed to fit what should be a normal installation. There is a 1 space from the outside of my window track to the edge of my siding. Which is similar to most houses I have owned. This bracket will not work unless there is at least a 3 space when set on its most compact setting. And it is adjustable to accommodate up to a 9-10 gap.. which I have never seen in any residential setting.

> 3 dayWith this platform/bracket feel way safer wrestling to put a +60lbs, unwieldy, fragile in the back, pain in the everywhere ac unit in. 30 secs to put together, 5 stars. Once in properly really sturdy and easy to maneuver big ac in place, 5 stars. Getting properly in place, 3 stars for 2 easy to fix problems. First, the feet should not be able to flip a full 180°, a small bit of metal would have saved me 10 minutes of thinking got legs at right lengths only to discover the feet had flipped...again. Second, the legs push pins popped out of place, which meant I had to remove the leg from the frame, fish the metal clip out, and pop the pins back in holes. This happened on both legs. A simple fix would be put a piece between the pins so they cant be popped completely out of the holes of legs but could still be adjusted on the holes of the frame. Just saying that these are easily fixed issues and should have been awhile ago. Also, maybe make the arch on the front of the frame 1/2inch longer for those of us who need to put a 2×4 under frame to lift over frame of window.

> 3 dayThis was very easy to install. My only complaint is it is expensive.

> 3 dayAlthough this support seems expensive, its worth every penny. It make your install a breeze. No tools needed for the support at all, only for the AC curtains (a screwdriver). I take that back. I did need a small level for the support to get the air conditioner draining correctly. Correction: Im pretty sure if I remember right, I think it has a built-in level.

> 3 dayWorked very well. Sturdy and well-made. Used it for a 10,000 btu a/c that happened to be the same width as the arms. The platform is 19 wide, the gap between them is 15. The struts have good feet with rubber nubs on them, but I added a wood beam at the bottom to spread the load on the fiber/cement shingles, which are a little brittle. (Not much weight on them so it was probably unnecessary.) Also added a 1/4 sheet of plastic to the platform to slide the a/c on. (Also not necessary.) A small bedroom a/c would look small on this; I also got a Jeacent unit that is 15 wide and fits the small units better.
