> 3 dayI get great reception from the small CB radio with awesome range. I use this CB while trail riding in the Colorado Rockies and due to the elevation I have heard guys talking in San Diego California on the border. It has 40 channels so we just went to a higher number, (where many radios dont go), and we were back in business! Its small enough that I mounted it in the center console of my 2013 Wrangler, neat and clean install! Highly recommend this radio!

08-04-2025I hate to write a bed review, but when the thing doesnt work right out of the box, what can I do. The 520 arrived with a bad mic. As soon as I plugged it in, the transmit light came on. I could wiggle the cable going into the mic and the light would go on and off. Now I have to box it up, take it to the post office and wait on a replacement. You would think Uniden would at least do a simple test on these radios before they send them out. I happened to have an old mic from a 510 and the radio worked fine with it. If the repair/warranty place in Texas send me a new (WORKING) mic in a timely manner, I will change my rating from one star.

> 3 dayUniden does it again with this unit. I owned this same model years ago and made the mistake of giving it to my son, so when I wanted to install one in my new truck I went out and purchased another brand. What a mistake that was! so now Im back on the airwaves with this compact unit and Happy. I will agree with another write up that the microphone is a bit on the small side with the updated unit, but its nothing that I cant work around. Love it !!!!!!

Greater than one weekI needed a CB radio in my work truck for yard communication, so I went with this. Ive been a truck driver for 24 years, so of course I have a big radio that has been modded, but those require fiddling to get them to work correctly. Now that Im doing local work, I just dont have time to mess around with it. This radio, with an 18 foot coax cable, and a basic Francis fiberglass whip antenna is simple, cheap, and works every time. No hassle at all.

> 3 dayVery sweet entry level radio. Small, really tough, very well built, smooth, clean. Audio output on this thing is clear and MSSIVE. Full volume it almost hurts on the hears, but what else you could expect from a radio designed to operate in quarries? If you want to start in CB, GET THIS. Or the 520XL pro wich I also own, and is this same guy with a couple of additional features.

> 3 dayPurchased this for our Jeep JK. It was fitted at the top of the windshield above the mirror. We made a bracket and cut the plastic to snugly fit this into the hole. The mike bracket mounts to the right front side and is out of the way and easy to grab. The speaker is on the bottom so I hear it very well. Looks like a factory install. Great idea for those with Jeep Wrangler JKs
