Greater than one weekI bought this with a decent sized antenna to be able to monitor highway chatter. The only time I was able to make out actual words was in a traffic jam with lots of trucks around. The noise interference was so bad I took it out of my truck at the end of the day. Its just not useable to hear or talk on while travelling on a highway.

> 3 dayThese radios are a great value for the money. There is an almost zero learning curve to using them and they work quite well.

> 3 dayI got the PRO510XL so I could transfer it between cars along with a magnetic base antenna .I used a cigaret outlet plug on the radios power cord. I also have the PRO520XL mounted in my off road truck . Both radios are the same sizeand also have an outlet for an external speaker but the 520 has an RF gain adjustment, PA switch, and Channel 9 switch. If you dont need the extra options of the 520 then the 510 is the radio for you. It is a compact radio at a good price that doesnt feel cheap. The channel dial has a crisp detent feel when you turn it. The mic. may look cheesy compared to more expensive CBs but its functional and for the price I cant complain too much about it. All in all if you ARENT looking for a Cb with all the bells and whistles then the PRO510XL is for you .

> 3 dayThis little radio gets the job done for a weekend warrior like me. It is very basic with few features but at this price who cares? It does exactly what its supposed to do and nothing extra. I like it.

> 3 dayI have purchased dozens of these radios for employees and for personal use. It is the single best value in CB radios I have found after having tried every brand on the market. In the niche market of compact CB radios it is without equal. It is far more durable and long lasting then the similar sized Cobra, Midland or off brand radios. What is amazing is that Amazon sells it at an amazingly competitive price. Expect to pay $55 at a truck stop for one of these. Avoid the cheaper Uniden radio which was a marketing tactic to compete with lesser radios. Also the 520XL in only an upgrade in that you have RF gain control; which isnt a necessary feature. If you want to spend more money to get weather stations or mic gains there are many other products to choose from. But if you want a reliable 40 channel CB radio that broadcasts well and receives well this is the radio for you. It is is rated at the same output power as any full size radios, but is small enough to be mounted in tighter locations. I have used these for years and can not overstate that they are the best price point in the market. Pair it with a Little Wil antenna for the best possible results and buy a road pro 12v adapter plug to be able to plug it into your 12v power adapter. Avoid cheaper plugs that handle less power and fail to indicate which lead is positive and negative.

> 3 dayThis is a great starter radio. Sounds good, LOUD, not a lot of bells and whistles but you get what you pay for. That said, installing was a giant headache. It came with all the hardware and would have been a simple install. However, the wire that goes into the inline fuse holder was pulled out from the factory, just enough that it looked good but didnt make a connection. This inst a hard fix for someone that knows their way around a multimeter, but it was still more challenging than it needed to be. Good news is that it was probably a fluke.

> 3 dayHey, its cheap (price wise), it works and its dependable in the woods. It keeps me from getting run over up in the forest roads that I roam in several days a week, wind, rain or shine. I can monitor the trucks hauling out wood and they can monitor me when Im bumping around. Ill switch to the particular haul roads cb channel thats painted on a tree at the entrance to the road and will let whoevers listening know what forest road Im on, what direction Im heading, what Im driving and what marker Im at. Those who are running that road will usually get back to me and Ill call out the markers as I head their direction. I can hear them calling their markers out as they head towards me if were on the same road. Either way, its safe, sane and the C.B. does the trick. I had no problem mounting it but matching it is a bit fussy for me. The SWR readings are good, but the antenna ground needs some work. Not the c.b. Would I buy it again? Yeah. But theres one more thats a bit pricier that has the scan option for $20-$30 more. Id have bought if I didnt buy this one. This ones cheap in price but so far its doing the job. The speakers a bit challenging for me (hearing impaired, go figure) but I can still figure out whats being said. Its just a bit of a challenge sometimes. Bottom line? If you need a cheap, easy to install, usable C.B. this is the one. When they say compact, they mean it. I run it in my 2015 Ford F150 4X4 (short box) but keep in mind you will have to ground the antenna mount. Too many folks forget that part. I run it with a 4 ft. FireStick most of the time. I had my last FireStick borrowed when I parked my truck in a stores parking lot. When I came back outside my FireStick antenna was gone. So, right now Im running around with a little magnetic mount on the roof. It works but its no FireStick. I gave it 5 stars because its better than my old one that I paid double this price for when I bought it. That one was borrowed and never returned.
