22-11-2024Took this on a trip to Disney World in August, it was HOT... I dont do well in the heat. It certainly saved me from baking to death in the sun. Dont get me wrong, it was still hot, but I was able to find relief in the shade this baby provided. Also, my fair skin did not get sunburned. The only thing I would change is that this is a bit heavy so it did get a little tiresome to carry all day. However, the wrist strap did help somewhat. Its sturdy and operated perfectly each and everyone of the 100 times I opened and closed it that trip. I would recommend this umbrella to everyone!

> 3 dayThis is a GREAT product ! Better protection, better coverage and cooler than wearing a hat ! And a big plus is that it doesnt ruin your hairstyle like wearing a hat does. This umbrella is a necessity for those of us who must avoid direct sunlight. I keep an extra one in my car at all times- so handy!

Greater than one weekHaving previously owned a uv ray blocking umbrella from the Breast Cancer Association (that I lost somewhere), I found this umbrella while looking to replace the other. The price was a bit formidable (had to talk myself into buying it) but now that I use it, I find it is definitely a good value for the money. My other umbrella was flimsy compared to this one. This has substantial weight to it and requires a good grip. As others have said, the handle is a bit awkward. But...despite that, I love this umbrella! I like that it has the Melanoma Association approval, a really dependable testimony to the effectiveness of the uv ray blocker. Having an illness that is exacerbated by uv rays, I feel that endorsement gives me confidence the product will work as advertised. Other umbrellas sold on Amazon just say they have uv protection, but with this umbrella, I have no doubt. The claim that it reduces the heat under the canopy by 15 degrees seems plausible to me. I really love the cover with the carrying ropes; it comes in handy. If you are looking for a genuine uv blocking umbrella that is sturdy and delivers what is promised, this is the umbrella you should buy.

> 3 dayI’m pretty happy with this umbrella. It is definitely superior sun protection and it keeps me cool during very hot days. However, I am not satisfied with the closing mechanism. Yes, this is push activated but only to open. To close, you have to pull the neck down and it doesn’t always catch. It can be cumbersome and nuisance. Other then that I am pleased with this umbrella. It is sturdy and does well in the wind for the most part.

> 3 dayDid a heat test on a 95° day. From underneath the UV Blocker temp was 105° the standard black Umbrella was 142° these temperatures were read after Umbrellas sat in sun for 15 minutes. Dropped 1 star because mechanism in handles need to be built out of something other than plastic. 2 Umbrellas broke after only a couple of months of use.

> 3 dayThis umbrella is clearly a higher quality than the cheaper brand I purchased last year (which only lasted a year) The skeleton is sturdy, the fabric is resilient, the venting is fortified. The size is perfect for one person, barely wider than my shoulders, so I can walk down a crowded street no problem. I attached my own shoulder strap because I find the slip case too much to deal with. The only thing that could be better is that its a little cludgy to close. The first one I bought (I believe it was this brand) closed with the same button that opened it, much easier than this version. Sadly, I left that one on the bus! Hopefully whomever found it recognized it for the treasure that it is.

> 3 dayI recently purchased this umbrella for a family road trip that included stops in Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama and Florida in June and July. We knew it would be really hot and humid, plus I have very fair skin and get sunburned easily. I also have family history of skin cancer and try to be very careful about sun exposure. This umbrella was one of the very best items we purchased for our trip! It made a huge difference in our comfort level when outdoors in the heat and sun. We took turns using it (or used it in pairs) and wished we had purchased one for each family member! We also brought two ordinary umbrellas, and the difference between using this UV-Blocking umbrella and the regular ones was substantial. Using this umbrella gave so much more relief from the intensity of the heat and sunshine. We used it when in line at attractions at Disney World parks, while strolling through botanical gardens and hot city streets. We used it nearly every day of our trip. We got some curious looks from others, but when I saw their sweat drenched shirts and flushed faces, I was incredibly grateful to have this umbrella! We felt noticeably cooler when using this umbrella on hot and sunny days, and when it rained a number of times on our trip, it was an awesome rain umbrella too! It is built very sturdy, and has a handy strap on its carrying bag that allows you to sling it over your shoulder so that you can remain hands-free when not in use. We intend to purchase at least one more before we take another trip, because we loved this umbrella so much. This is a great umbrella that I highly recommend!
