Im very happy with this software. Installation was quick and easy. I opted NOT to install the QuickTime portion of the software, which shouldnt be an issue, as I plan on using the Easy Wizard mode only. So far Ive transferred two VHS tapes to DVD, and both look very good. Typically VHS film quality, mind you. But thats to be expected when your source is VHS. The transfers to DVD are perfectly watchable. The only issue I saw was a small wavy line appearing at the very top of the frame(s). However, this doesnt detract from enjoying the DVD transfer, in my opinion. (Im not sure if this is a VCR tracking issue or something that normally occurs during the VHS to DVD transfer). My VCR only has one Audio OUT jack. So this results in the audio being heard in one channel only, IF listening to the DVD with headphones. However, this should be rectified by using a 2-Female to 1-Male RCA Y-adapter connection (costs around $5 to $10). The sound will still be mono but at least it will be heard through both the left and right channels (when listening with headphones). All in all, I am extremely pleased I chose this product for my VHS transfers. (My operating system is Windows 8.1 with a 2.0 GHz processor).

Awesome buy. I bought this in conjunction with a vhs converter and have been extremely pleased. The software is awesome and offers a lot of editing options, and is straightforward to use even for novices. Also, the product works well through constant usage without drop off in quality. Video quality depends on the input, but I just saved 20 years of home movies with this product. Cant ask for more than that.

I bought this for my mom for Christmas. I saw a fella using it at work, he showed me the features and knew it was the perfect thing. It converts anything youve recorded into digital format. The ultimate security for those old Christmas and vacation videos long forgotten in a drawer.

Ive purchased other VHS to DVD programs in the past and have had issues with the audio being out of sync with the video. Im happy to have finally found one that doesnt have that issue. The videos I recorded were a bit choppy (which is why Im giving it 4 stars instead of 5) but other than that Im very happy with VHStoDVD.

I purchased this when I was the Video Director at my church. We recorded all activities within the church and made DVDs for the members that requested them. I used the 5.0 Deluxe for more than 5 years and changed to the 8.0 when we upgraded our camera. I had used it for 2 years when I handed my position over to the younger generation. The instructions were not intuitive but Tech Support was great. A dependable application and one I would recommend without hesitation.

Has some issues. First of all I highly recommend getting a video signal booster between your vcr and this device. I had a lot of weird flickering going on. After calling tech support, they said my vcr signal was probably weak and the device does no amplification. Also this makes random ticking noises through your speakers. Doesnt end up on the video but is annoying. And the most annoying part...the final video can be choppy at times even when you dont see it while you are watching. No doubt a product of digitizing the video. Usually at the beginning of the footage, its all black and white and jumpy until the the device figures out how to track. Very annoying!!!!! Hindsight I wish I could have used a DVD/vcr recorder before they discontinued them.

Easy to install S/W and hardware. Had problems with the VHS conversion but could have been my equipment. Beta conversion to DVD went well after a learning curve. Users guide installs with S/W installation which is handy. Support answered my questions vis e-mail in a timely manner and helped with a problem. Read the Users Guide thoroughly before you start because capturing, editing, and burning can be tricky. Suggest use of DVD-RW when first burning project. Then if o.k. remaining discs can be burned using one time burn DVDs. That way cuts down on bad burns and discs that have to be discarded. Warning: My Sony Blu-Ray DVD player would not play DVDs with title and menus in content. Eliminating them did not bother me but it might some users. Did not try editing.

Wonderful video bóx, its Powerful for different old devices, as vcr, camcorder, Betamax, turntable. Etc, and the software its great, and can récord from turntable too for music mp3 files. Was the best choice I did, the video editor its soné kind basic, but you can capture your video in Mpg format, export to Avi or MP4 and can handle with another video editor as Camtasia, or Sony Vega

This product has worked perfectly for the purpose for which I purchased it, that being to transfer years and very many hours of vacation and family video tapes to DVD. The Easy Wizard Mode is the method I use as it is just that,...Easy! The device is easy to set up, instructions are easy to understand and easy to follow. Although the device has numerous other features, I have not had a need to utilize any of them at this time. Thus far I am very pleased with this product.

Easy to install. It allows us to take family VHS tapes and convert them to .wmv files on our Windows PC. You can create DVDs but I have not done this yet, as I want to edit the .wmv files for content (45 minutes of a football game needs to be shortened to about 10 minutes!) MUCH cheaper than taking them to commercial converters! My feeling is that DVDs will age out over time and as long as I have the .wmv I can edit them with PC software over time.
