This is NOT windows 10 compatible, it lags and has issues when installed in Windows 10. It worked okay with WINDOWS 7 & 8 . The only issue I have had thus far is sometimes it lags a little, seems to skip a bit here and there and I am use to one that never did that. I have tried it in several different settings and still does the same thing. Its nice to have but not the best.

This product has worked perfectly for the purpose for which I purchased it, that being to transfer years and very many hours of vacation and family video tapes to DVD. The Easy Wizard Mode is the method I use as it is just that,...Easy! The device is easy to set up, instructions are easy to understand and easy to follow. Although the device has numerous other features, I have not had a need to utilize any of them at this time. Thus far I am very pleased with this product.

Easy to use. Good transfer. Sometimes takes long time 6-10 hrs to save edit if hr or longer video.

I have used the 5.0 version and it worked fine copying old VHS home movies. I bought this one to use on a computer without a optical drive (cd tray) and could not find online where to download the software. Finally I saw in small print with the link in instructions under the first step. I had missed it earlier and tried to search online. Version 8 has more options, like saving as a media file rather than trying to just burn a CD, and it works well. Quality is mostly dependent on your old VCR.

I love this thing. It does exactly what I needed it to, and its very easy to use. Just make sure that you have all of the necessary cables for connecting it to your devices. What you need may not be included in this purchase, depending on how you plan to use it, so thats something to keep in mind.

For the most part, I like this software/hardware product. I actually am very happy with the hardware. It is easy to connect my old camcorder to my computer and transfer to digital format. I have been putting them (transferred home movies from VHS) on disk drives (I call them thumb drives). My somewhat low rating is for the editing software. If you try to get too fancy making changes, the program stops responding and if you dont save your project OFTEN, you lose all the work (and a lot of time) you put in up to that point. The PDF directions are easy to read and comprehend but it wont let you email it to print from a different printer. (Mine is out of ink right now and I wanted to email it to work so I could print it on that printer.) There are a few other options Id like to see added. For example, there is a title screen and a credits screen in the storyboard editing. You cant copy a photo into either of these screens. It would be nice to be able to do that. It would also be nice to add a picture to the transitions between clips. And, I discovered (during this last non-responsive error) that you can add text to a clip but only to the beginning of a clip. I would like to add text to the middle of a clip, kind of like an editorial during events. I will continue to use this program; I just have to remember to save the project often and find other tricks to make title pages and ending credit pages the way I want them by making a new clip screen and adding a picture. Hopefully, it wont freeze before I get each edit done.

My experience with this product and the support team has been good. I found phone support to be excellent. A young man named Justin, clearly from North America, very polite, patient, articulate, knowledgeable and helpful. Then again, I am a bit more tech-savvy than most users, and I try to be polite to tech support people. Here are some caveats that I have learned. Make sure the little box has a good power supply. Best way to do this is to invest in a powered USB hub. If you have a lot of USB devices chained on your PC, the power may drop a bit to your devices, or so I have heard. I have a couple of powered hubs anyway, so I used one for this device. If your videotape/VCR combination is not producing a good, stable image, you are going to have video and audio problems with this program, such as the intermittent blue screen interrupt on video and ticking audio artifacts. What plays acceptably on your TV may not do here. I was trying to make a digital copy of a film I had recorded off cable many years ago, and I had the issues. Justin asked me to try a commercially-manufactured VHS movie, and the video issues immediately disappeared. As for my audio problems, mea culpa, I had the RCA audio cables in the wrong jacks on the back of the VCR. So far, the thing works OK for me.

May change this if I get a hold of support. But got this for my wifes birthday she wanted old vhs home movies transferred. Each tape is 30 minutes. The first time I tried easy mode and it said it recorded it all but ended up with only 8 minutes. Then I did it again in advanced mode mpeg2 and got the full 30 minutes so was like ok now we are in business. But later started anther tape recorded 30 minutes at 1.8 gig, but then after it stopped it said 30 minutes at 1.8 gig, but only wrote a 700 meg file with the last 9 minutes on it. Thats also what it showed in the edit part. Tried 3 times same result. Now trying a 4th in wmv to see if that makes a difference. I do not care the format I will be re-coding in handbrake to hevc anyway. I raised from 1 to 3 stars, because it actually does you just have to leave it running on top of the screen or it will cut it. At least in windows 10 if it gets tabbed down you have to start over. I have used a lot of encoding software and this is more like a screen capture software that catches its box only and only when its on top.

prettty good software that works with a lot of windows programs (Vista, Windows 7, windows 10 are what i used.), pretty easy to use. Much cheaper than having someone convert old vhs tape to digital.

The Advanced Mode is VERY complicated. Dont have the time to learn it much less use it. The Easy Wizard would not work at first, after spending a couple of hours. Had to contact tech support. They werent sure where problem was. They Did spend a lot of time trying to resolve the problem. Suggested I trouble shoot on my own. I Later found an update patch for 8.0 , using Google, that SPECIFICALLY addressed the Easy Wizard problems I was having. Patched to 8.01 or 8.1. Works great now, for simple unedited transfers.
