> 3 dayThis product works flawlessly, but it does not enhance the video in any way. I had hoped I would get a clear picture from my 8 millimeter tapes and micro tapes. The video I did get is acceptable and I assume the best possible on any device. My point is I would have liked it to be much clearer. That may be due to my tapes themselves and the video recorder or camcorder I was using

> 3 dayInitial review: Worked well the first day of use. On second day, it was DOA. Works good when working. Serious reliability problems. Revised review: Amazon sent a replacement immediately. Replacement has worked flawlessly for over 40 video tapes. Changed my rating from 2 stars to 4 stars. I would recommend to a friend.

> 3 dayAwesome buy. I bought this in conjunction with a vhs converter and have been extremely pleased. The software is awesome and offers a lot of editing options, and is straightforward to use even for novices. Also, the product works well through constant usage without drop off in quality. Video quality depends on the input, but I just saved 20 years of home movies with this product. Cant ask for more than that.

> 3 daySMOOTH AND EASY, thats the way I like it and thats what this delivers. I work in an edit studio where quality is important. I have had a couple converters that give just kinda grainy, shaky transfers (SOny Media Tower, Im looking at you). This one, if you take the time to just read the instructions, installs beautifully first time and does a slam-bang job of transferring whatever Ive fed into in. Some old Hi-8 was first, and it looked pretty darn good. Guys in the room were like, whoa! Were in business! We used S-video cable (not the supplied RCA jacks) for that. Did some VHS, and found that it gives a good transfer, but of course, its not a miracle worker. I had some garbage that is still garbage BUT its not editable in our pro machines where it wasnt just seconds before. Good VHS looks really good. The audio is very good too. No extra hum or hiss added. Operationally its a breeze. Sorry but those reviewers who have reported problems, I just dont get it. This thing does the job with a VERY easy to use interface (duh, push de button get de video). You see the video in the small viewing screen. Controls beneath that. Rewind, well, thats to rewind. Free updates. Sorry, its that simple and works great and stable every time we duh, push de button. Simple! Awesome. Exactly the way I need it to be because I function on a lot of levels with a ;lot of different equipment and just dont need a lot of fussy particulars. Good video from old stuff at last! The version we got, works on both the Mac and windows PC (have 8.1 and Windows 10 here, a disk was provided for each format). By the way, and this will be obvious, make sure you are buying for your type computer (PC or WIndows) if you dont get the one that does both because it absolutely will not work on the wrong system. Sorry for me, first time I didnt push de right button. But they took care of me which is something else I really liked. Real people at work behind the screens and phones. Buy with confidence.

> 3 dayThe item is really easy to use. You only need to install the program CD and it works very easy. The quality of the file is not very high but its O.K. Probably the items with higher price have better quality than this one. One more notice: All my tapes are more that 3 hours long, the VIDBOX makes record only for max. 3 hours and I am forced to record the remained 15-20 Minutes separately.

Greater than one weekEasy to install. It allows us to take family VHS tapes and convert them to .wmv files on our Windows PC. You can create DVDs but I have not done this yet, as I want to edit the .wmv files for content (45 minutes of a football game needs to be shortened to about 10 minutes!) MUCH cheaper than taking them to commercial converters! My feeling is that DVDs will age out over time and as long as I have the .wmv I can edit them with PC software over time.

> 3 dayI do like it. The video quality is not as good as expected. But that could be my DVD burner. I would recommend it to any one that has great old stuff that they would like to hear and see again digitally.

> 3 dayI bought this a while ago but just got around to using it and unfortunately it doesn’t work. As soon as I click record it shuts down the program. Extremely disappointed.

Greater than one weekIve been able to transfer from VHS to DVD fairly simply, but I havent figured out the advanced editing features yet. Im not tech savvy, so I may not be able to do any editing. The directions are pretty useless. But, the DVDs I made played back on my TV/Dvd player as hoped.

> 3 dayWorks great for someone who isnt very technical, like me. I have a ton of VHS tapes that I wanted to copy on DVD for myself and my three daughters. After spending $250 on having a few 8mm tapes put on DVD, I decided to try this. It has advanced features but its working fine for my needs on the simplest setting. Very reasonably priced.
