Except for a few loading issues on Windows 10 I would have given this a 5 star rating. One error message said that it could not load a file because it already existed (so what?) and I skipped that issue. A second issue involved the on-line registration which indicated that my machine was not connected to the internet which it was. These little set-up problems out of the way I tried to capture a video. No problem. It is really quite simple and the 30 odd page manual is a big improvement over the Dazzle one of 300 pages which is on its way back. Thank you Amazon. Dazzle is made by a company noted for video editing and did not separate themselves from that genre long enough to provide a no frills user friendly approach to transferring a vcr video onto a dvd or onto ones computer. Dazzle would do well to consider a quick start guide similar to the one everyone else uses. If one is interested in serious video editing it will probably require a dedicated program. For the simple conversion, this is the best one available.

Ive purchased other VHS to DVD programs in the past and have had issues with the audio being out of sync with the video. Im happy to have finally found one that doesnt have that issue. The videos I recorded were a bit choppy (which is why Im giving it 4 stars instead of 5) but other than that Im very happy with VHStoDVD.

Works as intended! Easy setup and connections between a VCR and computer enabled me to copy old home VHS tapes. Once copied to your computer, the files easily burned onto a DVD. Gotta copy them before the tape wears out - or the VCR breaks! One note of caution......my VCR as 3 different sets of audio/video jacks. It didnt work on the one set of jacks, but did for the other. Something to be aware of in case you encounter a problem during setup.

Works great. Easy setup and install. Easier to convert and name files. Just drag and play. Converted a bunch of videos my sister had of family events such as birthdays, holidays, etc. However, the quality of the digital conversion, is the same as the quality of the original video. This conversion process does not clear up nor improve picture quality.

prettty good software that works with a lot of windows programs (Vista, Windows 7, windows 10 are what i used.), pretty easy to use. Much cheaper than having someone convert old vhs tape to digital.

Worked as described with Windows 10. After false starts because of DVD writer and with help from LIVE tech support was able to copy my collection of VHS tapes.

I purchased this kit (VHStoDVD 8.0 Deluxe) awhile back during a Gold Box Lightning Deal sale, but Im just now getting around to using it. The software was easy to install and has been very easy to use (Im just using the basic video recording function). Hookup was simple too, just connect the cables to the box and to the video player. You get some cables with this kit - but Im using the S-Video input and had to supply my own cable for that. The digital videos this software creates is more than adequate for my needs. The finished files are in MPG format (think its MPEG-1) which are pretty huge, a one hour video comes out to be a 3GB+ file. The video resolution of the files Im getting is 480P (720x480). I could convert them to MP4, but the media player I have plays the MPG files fine. Im using a pretty heavy-duty computer (i7 w/12GB running Win7Pro) to run this software. Like I said, this kit works for me. Im happy with my purchase.

I have used the 5.0 version and it worked fine copying old VHS home movies. I bought this one to use on a computer without a optical drive (cd tray) and could not find online where to download the software. Finally I saw in small print with the link in instructions under the first step. I had missed it earlier and tried to search online. Version 8 has more options, like saving as a media file rather than trying to just burn a CD, and it works well. Quality is mostly dependent on your old VCR.

Absolutely easy to use even in the advanced mode. I did have to google the manual a couple of times and the menu/title backgrounds are a little outdated hence the 4 stars and not 5. I highly recommend this product for those wanting to convert their home vhs tapes.

Well made and was simple to connect to computer and VCR. Operations were tricky and I believe if the company had video instructions on their website would help the consumer to use their product to its fullest. I will have to say, I believe I have actually managed to rescue two priceless family VHS videos by converting them to DVD. Fortunately a friend had a VCR I was able to borrow to make this transfer. Honestech VHS to DVD was worth the cost. The final transfer to DVD played right away on my DVD player. Unfortunately I wasnt able to use their Editing option as it either didnt work or I just couldnt figure it out. The Easy Wizard Mode is very basic so I stuck with that.
