> 3 dayNot bad. The usb end had to be squeezed a little because it kept falling out but once I did that it worked great in the wizard mode. I am still having problems in the advanced mode. I found other software online that works very well if the video is saved to the computer in advanced more and then edited in the other software where I am able to put nicer introductions and some fading in and out. As far as the equipment is concerned, not bad but I would suggest better software like Wondershare video editor for editing the videos after converting them.

> 3 dayStarting at the Beginning and why I purchased. Wanting to transform my video tapes of family events and put them on CD. Also wanting to make CDs out of some tapes and LPs. I tried the cheap knock-offs for 11ish dollars...didnt work. Narrowed my choice to this and Roxio (I had used a previous version a few years ago). So I called Vidbox to insure this product would do what I wanted(I also wanted to see if customer service exists). I actually talked to a live human who I could understand. A HUGE PLUS. Did the same with Roxio and was directed to their online chat. The chat gave me a message about too busy and they will get back to me. A Day later they sent me a satisfaction survey....Dont bother. So Vidbox it is...easy install. Have Windows 7 64bit and installed perfectly. Didnt have to go hunting for drivers. Transferring From Camcorder...I use the advanced and this product is easy.. I followed the available help user guide and now have 7 DVDs. The look great. Had an old family recorded Christmas tape from decades ago that when played on tape seemed a little too high pitched. So easy to load onto Computer with this product, and easy to make CDs. Converted from WMA form to WAV then loaded into Audacity(free download) to edit the speed and now am happy.. Buy

Greater than one weekI have used the 5.0 version and it worked fine copying old VHS home movies. I bought this one to use on a computer without a optical drive (cd tray) and could not find online where to download the software. Finally I saw in small print with the link in instructions under the first step. I had missed it earlier and tried to search online. Version 8 has more options, like saving as a media file rather than trying to just burn a CD, and it works well. Quality is mostly dependent on your old VCR.

> 3 dayAlthough I have not made use of all the options on this device and software, I have been able to go through nearly 30 VHS tapes and preserve them in digital format, both to my hard drive and to dvd disc. It has been VERY easy. The options to edit are quite limited, however. For example, on a video project, if you have a main clip that you want to fade in at the beginning, then fade out at the end, you cant do that. You are allowed only one effect per clip. If you have two clips, you can apply a transition effect, but only one. So each clip allows one transition and one effect. I also found the text quality very poor. Im using a laptop in 1920 x 1080 resolution, yet each time I open the advanced edit software, it recommends 1024 x 728 or higher resolution, as if I am not already in a higher resolution. When I apply text to introduce a video, it comes out very fuzzy. Its also difficult to find the center of the video. There is no option in a text/ font menu where I might select center text as an option. Whats most important is that I get my deteriorating VHS tapes put safely to digital and retire my ancient VCR, and that I will be able to do and therefore, am very happy with my purchase.

> 3 dayI love this Vidbox VHS to DVD! Ive had two video capture devices before. The first one the picture quality was awful. The second one no longer worked after I upgraded to Windows 10. I ordered a Vidbox VHS to DVD and tried it out and it worked like a charm. It did a beautiful job of capturing video from my Handycam! The picture quality is superior! At first I had some frustrating experiences trying to get it to work properly. This is expected. It takes some practice to get this contraption to work properly, but youd get the hang of it.

> 3 dayThis product feels like its software is written by some guy that still living in the 90s with his VHS player. I have a few issue with the software. I wish you could pre-set the name of the video file that youre capturing before you hit the capture button. I also wish there were more formats available for capturing. The hack they have in the software is that you need to convert from the original file to something else after you extract. Then when you covert it looks like it has to play the whole thing in 3x speed. For me Im converting to an MPEG2 video using this software then converting that file to an m4v file. Im doing this for 2 reasons. I tune the file size in handbrake since the features are far more advanced than this ancient software. This lets me get file size reduce by over half without any noticeable video quality changes. Also, I use some free video editing software called DaVinci Resolve and it doesnt even support MPEG2 since it so old. Also, the registration process is broken and cant detect that you have an internet connection. It keeps telling me to fill out a form and mail it in because I dont have an internet connection. Like its my fault their software isnt working and they want me to yet again relive the age of the VHS where the only way to do registration was by mail. Another issue is that when you capture they should have a prompt so you can put in the date of the file and a description. I end up having to do this after the fact under the file properties in the operating system. What they do instead is just default to todays date and that gets automatically appended to the credits when youre using the editor. That part is really annoying since a lot of people would put multiple videos on one VHS to save money since tapes werent exactly cheap. All together it seems like this software is living in the past. Its mostly built on the premise of converting from one legacy medium (VHS) to another legacy medium(DVD). Then it just looks like their software developers probably just tried to hack a solution to convert the files for your digital devices. They might as well have just made a pop up that says, Just use Handbrake, then you dont have to wait for our slow software to do a worse job and waste more of the time youre already devoting to this project.

> 3 dayI didnt do my research to make sure this product was compatible with what I had. So, I believe that the product is a 5, but what is truly a 5 is the service. It truly was one of the easiest and flawless returns Ive ever done. No one really wants to return items, but if you must, making it this easy makes it so much better. Thank you.

Greater than one weekI bought this for my mom for Christmas. I saw a fella using it at work, he showed me the features and knew it was the perfect thing. It converts anything youve recorded into digital format. The ultimate security for those old Christmas and vacation videos long forgotten in a drawer.

> 3 dayI had two copy programs and cords but neither worked. Though not flawless the product worked for me. Sometimes though everything was hooked up properly I had to restart my PC to have it recognize the connections.

> 3 dayI have been pleased with this product. I had no issues connecting or installing the software to my computer. I have been able to edit my videos and add titles. I am far from being tech savy and found this to be easy to grasp. The process does take time, but for the cost I have converted over 20 vhs tapes to dvd. The quality of the new dvd has met my expectations and is fine for what I want. It sure beat $20 a tape to send them away.
