> 3 dayI did hours of research before taking a chance on this monitor. I bought it as a second monitor for my new MacBook Air 2018, as my new Mac would not recognize my old monitor even with the correct adapter cord (I’m guessing it was too old and outdated?). I chose this product because it is USB-C compatible and based on the positive reviews. I nervously hooked it up using an Apple thunderbolt 3 cord ($39.99 on amazon) hoping my Mac would recognize it and — voila!! It worked beautifully. This monitor is not only perfectly compatible with MacBook Air 2018 but also has great resolution and some nice adjustment features - you can effortlessly move it up and down or swivel the screen side to side using the easy-to-assemble base. I highly recommend it!!

> 3 dayI purchased this monitor after a similarly-configured Lenovo monitor bricked on me only a couple months out of warranty. This ViewSonic isnt quite the looker as the Lenovo, but its ergonomically superior in some respects, and I think the screen is brighter and has better viewing angles. I also like the arrangement of the USB ports for extra peripherals just behind the screen on the users left hand side as theyre easier to access. My one complaint is about the user interface. On the front of the monitor on the lower bezel is the power button, a button that allows you to switch viewing modes, and four other menu buttons. Those four other menu buttons pull up a unified menu but serve other functions once the menu is activated (one for up, one for down, one to select, and one to exit). That all makes sense, of course, but, for the way I work, a one-button option for switching inputs would be far, far more useful than a one-button solution to switch viewing modes. Im a grown man with no time for games - this monitor is for my work. But I have two computers - my work and my personal. Ive literally never, in over a year, needed to change color/brightness settings via the viewing mode button. But I do switch inputs multiple times a day, so, having just one button to press to quickly switch inputs would make far more sense.

> 3 dayI am a developer so I write code, surf the web, deal with spreadsheets and text all day long with occasional Photoshop work. Im not a gamer at all so no comment on how this monitor performs for gaming. Im running Debian on an older Lenovo laptop (T430s) using a Display Port from the monitor to the Mini Display Port on the laptop. Let me say how happy I am with my purchase. This is a solid monitor with a thin bezel, beautiful picture, beautiful design all combined in a 24 package. The bezel and the stand are premium in terms of texture, design and durability. I prefer monitor stands that are square and non-glossy compared to those that are round and glossy. I know I know, to me, design and looks matter too. This monitor also has actual buttons. The buttons are firm in place and dont wiggle around. It also has a Text-mode setting that helps reading text easier. I appreciate the fact that ViewSonics logo on the front of the screen is black and not chrome or white so it doesnt jump at you. I thought that was a smart design choice by ViewSonic. The speakers on this monitor are above average. I dont have much expectation of built-in monitor speakers in general. I buy a monitor for its picture quality and resolution capabilities, first and foremost. Regardless, I dont have problems watching videos or listening to music. I used to have a 27 BenQ with 2560x1440p resolution. That monitor was amazing but it was too big for my desk and the text was a bit fuzzy. Im now running the same resolution on a 24 monitor with the same screen real estate and the text looks amazingly sharp. Note: A 27 1080p monitor does not necessarily give you more screen real estate over a 24 1080p. Its not the physical size of the monitor but rather the resolution of the monitor that will allow you to fit more windows on your screen. It took me 3 monitors to figure this out. Also note that the higher the resolution, the smaller the text. Basically sit back at an arms length from your monitor screen and find the resolution that youre comfortable with. Can you read text or surf the web without any eye strain? Then determine which monitor can produce that resolution at its best. Of course, other factors are involved here too such as your graphics card that you have to consider. Overall, I highly recommend this monitor for the price. Hope this helps people out there.

> 3 dayThe monitor was plug & play working immediately. An adjustable tilt on the monitor is easy to use. I adjust the monitor frequently between video streaming and regular alone computer use. Worked well with MacPro charging computer through the monitor and syncs great between 3 screens. Some other monitors do not play well with Apple products.

> 3 dayI have Mac Pro. I used type-c data cable that came with package, and the one which I have bought separately which is designed for both power, video/audio transfers. Both didnt work. Gladly I have HDMI adaptor through with monitor is working. I am planning to return as I bought this especially for type-c.

> 3 dayI performed so much research on these monitors, as I have some at work and wanted some for home office. Very confusing to research these as their model numbering is difficult. First, I really like these monitors, which is why I bought x2 for home (vg2755 1080). The daisy chaining is awesome, which comes to my 1 star rating. The xx55s dont allow you to! Absolute nonsense as VS markets the awesomeness of USB-C allowing you dock the monitors to each other (which these monitors are usb-c). You have to get at least x1 xx56 and then connect a second monitor such as the xx55. But wait, there is more! Not all xx56s let you!!! It looks like the 4k version does not, but the 2k does? and what of the size differences? I am sorry to give such a low score to something I like but that marketing needs to be far more truthful in what they are advertising.

Greater than one weekDo not believe one of the top comments saying one needs only a USB 3.1 cable to display to this monitor. It is not true, the company has false advertising claiming compatibility with Macs, which is not the case without an adaptor. Third party adaptors most likely wont work either. One probably must purchase an Apple one and cough out $70 and utilize the adaptors HDMI to connect to this monitor as the usb-c connectivity of this monitor does not support thunderbolt, not allowing macs to display. The company representatives also wont offer any real help on the issue, rather referring you to Apple customer support, leaving you on your own.

> 3 dayOther reviews talk about the picture and the lack of a USB-C cable. They have heard and now include a 10Gb/s 1m long cable which works fine. The built-in speaker sound quality is not as good a the build-in late model MacBook Pro laptop, but is ok. The USB-C cable allows for the monitor to be almost be a docking station. After a month of our family using 2 of these monitors, Ive raised it to 5-stars.
