I tried the provided USB Type C cable, the provided DisplayPort cable, and this USB Type C (3.1) cable (https://www.amazon.com/AmazonBasics-USB-Type-C-Gen1-Cable/dp/B01GGKYUKI), and all I got was No signal on the screen. I am extremely frustrated and dont know why my macbook pro 16 is not working with this monitor. googling didnt help much, but i could confirm other people were seeing this issue, perhaps due to a macOS problem. I hope someone from ViewSonic can help.

Despite the ubiquity of USB-C ports on laptops in recent years—including all Apple laptops—USB-C support remains a rare feature. Seriously, I searched for hours to find one thats 1) in stock and 2) not ridiculously overpriced. So I felt incredibly lucky to find this reasonably-priced 24 display with full USB-C support and an excellent 1440p resolution! The refurbished unit I received looks and works as good as new, and the included USB-C cable works perfectly with my MacBook, charging it while receiving its video signal and connecting the monitors USB hub. There used to be a time when monitors were MUCH more expensive and thanks to the proliferation of options and increased technology, competitive prices have saved our wallets. But when it comes to selecting a monitor, the brand should also be taken into consideration because that is arguably the most important part of your computing process - you need to SEE what you are doing? ViewSonic has been around forever and its quality remains unchanged, and this monitor attests to the craftsmanship and value. The graphics are vivid and crisp, the construction of the monitor is sturdy, easy to assemble and set up - and being able to swivel the screen or flip it is what makes this SO AWESOME! This is a good monitor for your modest home office, an extra monitor for heavy-duty tasks where you need two screens, or even in my case where the screen on an old laptop is cracked and this has saved my work because I am now able to transfer it to another hard drive - I used the VGA output but there is also HDMI! Priced for holiday savings, this is a must have!

Monitor perform very well - good color, excellent picture quality, brightness is much better than my prior monitor. Im using 2560x1440p resolution - and use it as my primary monitor. I also have a 21 HP 1-8-p monitor as my 2nd monitor and am using the laptop screen as monitor 3. All three interact well in Windows10. The 2560x1440 gives me plenty of working area on the main screen -- often I use 2-3 windows on that screen and can still position them to view all with only slight overlaps. I use screen 2 as the screen to share for online presentations or to park an open document or Excel for frequent reference. I only keep then laptop screen open so I can use Hello Windows login from the laptop camera -- I dont really use the screen often. I deliberately bought the USB C to have one cable connections - but due to some other port needs, Im actually connected using HDMI for now so I cannot comment on that capability.

Generally is good performance for price. I purchased this item for true 8bit color depth and other graphical parameters. But Firmware updating cannot support for VG2455-2K Model is is bad. Try both Anker and Cable Matters video cables, this monitor only works for wife MacBook Air 2020, but not for my MacBook Pro 2018 nor sons MacBook Air 2019. Try upgraded to Catalina 10.15.4 , reset NVRAM but still no luck, very frustrated and hope someone knows the solution.

Pros: 1. Nice picture. 2. Nice to be able to see different applications in different screens. Cons 1. Inadequate instructions to connect to a computer (MacBook Air 2020) that has none of the specific ports. Eventually I figured out on my own how to connect via HDMI using a hub. Not easy to do with limited technical knowledge. 2. I was disappointed to find out that the Display Manager and Split View function are only available on Windows desktop PCs. When I called tech support, they kind of minimized the importance of Split View, but I am working remotely with Microsoft Remote Desktop where a lot of functions are not available. Split Screen would have come in very handy.

quality is excellent, just broken base

For the price, it is unbeatable. Im glad chose the 1440p model over full HD. I was on the fence since I dont do any gaming and this would purely be for office use and browsing. It makes a big difference in how much text that can be displayed and the clarity as well. Bonus USB ports on the side not shown in the specs.
