> 24 hourIve used dual monitors for quite some time at home. I used to use ViewSonic but switched to Samsung & LG maybe 7-8 years ago. My present (not cheap) LG has a somewhat washed out appearance. This is the second time in a row that a Samsung monitor hasnt lasted 40 months after purchase. For a while now, Ive only been buying Samsung as far as our TVs (32 and 46 presently) and Smartphones (2 x S3s and one S4). At the price of this ViewSonic with its 3 year warranty my heart (and wallet) will not be broken if they die on the 39th month, as was the case with my last 2 Samsung monitors. I find the picture about the same for everyday use at about $100 less than I was paying for my other higher end monitors. I do wish it had more pre-set options but at $150, still well worth it for a very acceptable picture. No, Im not doing graphic design or intense digital photography. Bottom Line - For this price I would/will buy again. If I had the desktop space, Id buy another to play music DVDs while I work.

> 24 hourThe ViewSonic VX2452MH 24 Inch 2ms 60Hz 1080p Gaming Monitor has startling color range and clarity for both at home computing and video streaming of your favorite entertainment channels. I found the monitor to be easy to set up and use with a variety of digital inputs including HDMI and traditional VGA and DVI connections. I have a dual monitor setup on my pc and look forward to purchasing another VX2452MH to replace an older monitor when it is time. Excellent monitor for the price.

> 24 hourFirst off this monitor has stunning detail and clarity in all regards. Text is bright, defined and easy to read. The Video on this monitor looks as good or better than it does on my 42 Samsung LED HD TV. The games I play also look better on this monitor than the other monitors I own (which include these 22 and 23 inch monitors. ViewSonic VA2246M, a HP 2159M and an Acer G236HL. The refresh rate at 60Hz could be better, and compared to an old school CRT it seems to slow frame rate a little more than I care for, but the frame rate was measured from a basic low end PC, with an Intel 2000 onboard graphics adapter, and can be resolved by a simple graphics card upgrade (with a GeForce 630 the frame rate is very acceptable for my purposes). The addition of an HDMI input is a nice addition and is a useful addition compared to other monitors in this price range. (HDMI/DVI/VGA and audio inputs are easily accessible). After setting this monitor up, and comparing it to the other monitors Im using. The color and detail, and contrast is what has really impressed me. At a price near the $160.00 mark, this monitor would seem to priced in the lower echelon of desktop monitors (let alone multimedia units). But its performance seems to reach well above other monitors in this price range. I did play with the color balance a little and it helped to create a more realistic palate when browsing photos and video. But right out of the box the colors were brighter, with more detail than on the other monitors Ive mentioned above. None of those monitors had the crispness in the whites, the deep blacks, or depth of color this monitor has, and none are even close after making a few minor adjustments in the monitors menu pannel. As with most monitors the panel of adjustments are easy to reach and use, and the Intel display adjustments allow for fast easy onscreen preview when adjusting this monitor (which did not require a great deal of tuning to satisfy my needs. In addition to the great color, detail and contrast, other options this monitor offers could make it attractive for many buyers. 1. The game mode option adjust contrast, and might or might not be something I use in the future, but its there and might come in useful. 2. The mounting options give the monitor some flexibility and at this size I could see mounting it on a wall for various uses. 3. Built in 2 watt SRS Audio might be attractive in many environments. 4 The weight, it is very lite for a 24 monitor which makes handling quick and easy. 5. Streaming Video from YouTube - Amazon Prime and Netflix on this monitor is as good as it gets. As I said the monitor looks as good or better than my Samsung HD TV. (unlike the other monitors I own this monitor re-creates a true HD experience. Im sure there are other things to consider, and these few might or might not be on everyones list, but at least a couple were on mine. Over all Not owning a monitor over $200.00 I cannot really compare this unit to one of the higher rated displays. But rating it at a monitor closer to $150.00 mark than the $200.00 price range I can say my initial reaction is that if your thinking about its a very good bet. The assembly should take maybe two minutes if your slow (meaning fast and easy). The resulting construction feels solid and it sits square without wobble on my desk. I did not try the speakers, since I have a set that I enjoy and at 2 watts the speakers were not a part of my purchasing decision. I was hoping for at least good color and detail and I believe that this monitor does an excellent job and surpasses my hopes in those regards. Even attached as a basic workstation monitor, this monitor expands the basic productivity that my other monitors provide in that regard. The actual display at 23.6 is large enough to create a smooth easy transition between multiple tasks... However this monitor goes far beyond a basic workstation unit and does a very good to excellent job in multimedia and gaming situations as well (matched with a PC designed for gaming I think it would be a very good choice as an entry level gaming monitor as well). Finally Im Extremely happy with this purchase, and would recommend it as a great choice for an everyday 24 display.

> 24 hourThis replaced a 22 Viewsonic that I have had for many years but is got fried by lightning strike. I like quality, setup is a bit challenging but do-able. Only thing I dislike is the tinny audio speakers. the old 22 where much better. I am using it on a Mac laptop OS.10.14.5

> 24 hourExcellent - does exactly what I expected it to, and looks great. Colors are mostly true initially, and that can be adjusted if it is a big deal for you as far as hues and saturation and such. Excellent 1080p viewing and the game mode works amazingly with games - everything is easier to see and all that good jazz with game modes on monitors and such (Im fairly new to advanced next gen gaming and all that - until recently my newest system was a Wii). If displaying pure black, theres a little bit of bleed around the edges, but its really only noticeable when it is truly an extremely dark color. I looked through quite a few monitors and reviews before deciding on this one and am overall very satisfied with this purchase - perfect for a 24in monitor for a multipurpose work desk. The stand is a bit flimsy; Ive seen and held monitors that you could carry around by the stand comfortably if you wanted to, and this is probably not one of those - but once its set up on your desk it looks plenty sleek and sharp. I actually end up moving my monitor occasionally and its no problem unscrewing the base and having the screen lay flat for storage if you dont have the box still. Great product, no problems at all.

> 24 hourWe have 20-30 of these throughout our business and they all pretty much work really well. They have 3 inputs which is nice because we have a lot of different model PCs with different video connections it makes it easier to match it up with different PCs The quality is just fine for office work, easy to mount, and seem to be lasting.

> 24 hourBought this to replace an old 22 ViewSonic LCD monitor that was giving up. First impressions out of the box were similar to other comments here - MUCH lighter weight than my old monitor and yet quite wiggly on the provided stand. The first power-up without installing drivers provided very pale colors as others have stated. Also as previously stated, tinkering with the monitors menus provided no improvement as the color settings default to maximum from the factory. I was feeling disappointed, BUT, using the Windows monitor adjustments and installing the appropriate drivers markedly improved the colors. Some additional thoughts - I think part of the adjustment issue I had was not the fault of the monitor, but was simply the change from old LCD technology to LED lit screens, where as with room lighting LEDs provide a brighter, if somewhat harsher light source. Another change issue was the shift from the old standard sized and shaped monitor to a widescreen format that resulted in a monitor about two inches wider, but almost a full inch shorter in screen size. This somewhat deadened the effect of going to a larger screen, and has prompted me to start the search for a four inch stand to lift the monitor to center eye level and the best viewing angle. Dont let the above comments appear too negative - after the above mentioned adjustments I am very happy with the monitor and would by it again without hesitation. My gamer son loves the high refresh speed and brighter picture and I loved the reasonable price. Need a good, reasonably priced monitor? Get it.

> 24 hourI originally bought this to replace an Acer SB220Q as my primary monitor and was, at first, disappointed overall. The contrast was extremely high and tuning its settings through the OSD (whose buttons were extremely sharp and cut into my fingers) didnt help at all. Colors were slightly more saturated than I feel they should have been. Viewing angle was pretty narrow and corners were dark, and coupled with the high native contrast, it was difficult to view any dark images or games. Theres a noticeable screen-door effect on plain white images. The speakers were super gutless and required the desktop audio to be cranked up to max to be audible, at which point it would lose any clarity and had no bass to it whatsoever. Its response time setting was supposed to reduce motion blur, but the tradeoff was that it added significant ghosting and choppy motion. Most importantly, it had a vignette along the right edge of the monitor that was annoying enough for me to RMA it under warranty. I received an older manufacturing date model as a replacement and the quality of the two monitors is night and day for some reason. The contrast and colors now match my other displays, including the SB220Q. I was able to get an almost 100% image match with very slight tuning of the RGB. The monitors OSD buttons are more square and blunt and dont require as much force to press. The speakers are noticeably better. The response time setting now works with no noticeable trade-off like the ghosting before and makes high-speed games look great. Unfortunately, the screen door is still there and this one also has a dark edge along the right side of the screen albeit much less noticeable, but the improvement in the color was enough to warrant me keeping it. Its on-the-fly gaming mode isnt for me as it turns the image bland, flat, and washed out in favor of lower contrast thats supposed to make it easier to see in the dark for esports or tactical games or something. I recommend this for gaming, where youre likely to not focus enough on the image quality to notice its issues, but not for creative work or art as its color and light seems to be inconsistent between units.

> 24 hourI recently started downsizing from a Mac Pro to a Mac Mini and available ports are a concern so my 27 Apple Cinema Display had to go. With so many models and so many gripes, the selection seemed to be a no-win headache. This actually fit the criteria - hdmi, integrated speakers, size, IPS or near, relatively inexpensive, and decent response rate. Its hard to make comparisons with the Cinema display but I thought I wanted IPS. The vertical viewing angle on this seemed to be similar to an IPS screen. The horizontal viewing angle is smaller and dims when you are past the +/-45 degrees of center. Its not much of an issue as a computer monitor. The glow of the backlight at the bottom is noticeable but not much. I seem to have lucked out with no dead pixels that I can see. I wasnt expecting much of the speakers other than that they work. The hdmi and integrated speakers make for a tidy setup. The monitor can be tilted but the best adjustment is the stack of books or boxes to bring the monitor to the right height. I had bought a similar model for my brother and had the hardest time adjusting the contrast and brightness for him until I realized the contrast and brightness were swapped. Maybe its a tomato/tomatoe type thing but contrast actually controls the brightness of the display and this model is no different. As I started adjusting the display for the settings that tomcat9 listed, I remembered the quirk about the contrast and brightness. I finally settled on contrast of 60 and brightness of 100. It still wasnt quite right so I pulled up the color profile in the Mac Mini and it had selected HD-709A. I tried the calibration and the biggest difference came with the gamma adjustment to 2.2. Everything seems to be good now. I havent tried out the response rate yet but I think it will live up to its billing. It is a light display but at this price, I dont think you should expect an aluminum case.
