> 24 hourI use two of these monitors daily at work for CAD work as well as programming machines. The screens provide crisp images of what I am working on. I enjoy viewsonic screens more then any brand. Viewsonic is easy to work with as well. Last year one of my monitors that I purchased from Amazon developed some dead pixels. All I needed to do was contact viewsonic, email pics of the issue I was having and I was told to send it to them and they would take care of it. A few days later a brand new replacement monitor arrived at my place of work. Very happy with their customer service. Viewsonic monitors have a 3 year warranty period, I had owned the monitor for two and a half years. Will continue to buy viewsonic monitors, once you pick one up and use them on a daily basis as I do, you will notice how inferior other monitors are compared to viewsonic.

> 24 hourMonitors picture looks great after you play with the settings, but the settings reset every time the monitor shuts off and I have to input them again. I dont know if its just a glitch or if thats the way its meant to be for some reason? The speakers are decent for a monitor, but dont expect great sound. Its pretty quiet, even at full volume, which is why I have mine plugged into a speaker system. Other than those little issues, Id recommend just for a budget set up or something cheap to game on if youre low on money. Worth it for the price.

> 24 hourAfter my old Acers died, I decided it was time to step it up to 1080P. However, even for someone that has worked with computers for nearly 25 years; monitors are extremely difficult to buy. In fact, it took me 3 weeks to finally pull the trigger on a pair of these VX2452MHs over the equivilent Asus, Acer, and BenQ low response gaming monitors. On to the review, which is going to be short, from a dual-screen perspective, and about 3 days of usage. I’m going to try to answer questions that I initially asked myself about the screens as part of the review. Additionally, I’m not using the 2W speakers and I immediately mounted these guys to a dual-screen stand, bypassing the unadjustable OEM stands. So, are they easy to setup? Very easy, my screens are currently connected to my PC via DVI, and the visual quality of these monitors is indeed stunning right out of the box. Just to note, inserting the cables can be a bit of a pain because you have to *lightly* push down on the plastic back to get the connectors to plugin; so make sure to take your time with the external setup. Once powered on, the screen takes 2 seconds to turn on, and they are very bright, so make sure to turn them down a bit. How about dead pixels? I bought two screens and neither had any dead pixels. Is it a glossy screen? Nope, its also an anti-glare screen. How about the buttons and menu? The control buttons sits under the right bottom edge of the monitor and the menu is very functional, easy to read, and every setting is adjustable – even the response time. That’s nice, but are they good for PC gaming? To be completely honest with you, the screens are so good that you don’t have to adjust any setting other than the brightness. When you switch over to ‘game mode’ the response shoots down to 2MS and there is absolutely zero ghosting in games such as BF4, Terraria, and Left 4 Dead 2 at 1080P/60hz. I plan to try GTAV, and Shadow of Mordor as soon as I have a chance to download them again, but I’m sure they’ll be even more stunning than before. My end goal is to manually adjust the screens, but I havent had the need as of yet. So you really like them? Yes, for the price tag versus performance they are excellent. You won’t be able to get a better 24 Inch LED TN panel at this price outside of Black Friday. In my opinion, ViewSonic did an excellent job making sure these killer screens were well worth the price tag. Just keep in mind that these are GAMING monitors, so people looking to buy these for web design, video editing, and photo shop may have a different opinion. I suspect a lot of the lower star reviews are non-gaming reviews.

> 24 hourMy model: ViewSonic VX2452MH 24 1080p Using for ~4 months. I needed a second monitor to extend my laptops display. For work use, I use it as a second monitor for coding and browsign internet. For home use, I use is to play games, watch sports, TV/movies/Netflix. This is my main entertainemnt display because I dont use the TV that much and this is convenient in my room. I bought this after a lot of research on TN, IPS, VA, etc. panels. TN panels have a complaint of having untrue colors at a wider angle like more than 160 degrees. Even though I am not using it at that wide angle, I dont see any color distortion. Resolution is really good (1920 x 1080) and its really nice to have a lot of space for multiple windows instead of switching. Its very easy to assemble too; it took about 10 minutes. Great monitor overall and worth the price (I bought it at $120). I would recommend it for any use case since there is a 22 and 27 variant too.

> 24 hourUpdate 2: Submitted the paperwork required to get it replaced via ViewSonic warranty program. The process required several emails back and forth and was kinda confusing but overall, ViewSonic reps were quick to respond to my emails and answer my questions. They sent me a new monitor and then I used the same box and packaging to return the old monitor. The only part that made me uneasy was that they require your cc number incase you do not return the old monitor or if they decide it is not covered under warranty (which is understandable). However, what bothered me is they never acknowledged that they received the new monitor. Tracking clearly said they got it but after several emails, they never would admit that they got it and I was in the clear. All I want is closure and a statement that the process is complete (and my card will not be charged). All in all though, I am happy with my new monitor and very happy that they followed through on their warranty. It seems that most companies find any excuse to not follow through. Update: Submitted a RMA request as instructed by the manufacturer and am currently waiting to hear back. Great monitor for the price, however, within a month of having it, a cluster of pixels have died in the center of the monitor, leaving an obnoxious white spot that you cant get rid of. Considering how fast it appeared, I imagine more will be on their way out soon.

> 24 hour** UPDATE: Its not even a year since ordering this and the HDMI port is completely trashed. Have to use an HDMI to DVI converter cord. So there you have it. Not even one year and aside from it being a piece of garbage in terms of quality it doesnt hold up to daily use. Simply the worst monitor I have owned in more than thirty years. ** There is not much to say about this monitor other than it is simply terrible. I purchased it to use as a second, larger monitor for use with my MacBook Pro when doing video editing and daily work use. Where to begin. Colors are so far off out of the box ViewSonic should be embarrassed. Days of fiddling got them nearly right, but still quite noticeably off. Next is the clarity. Text is horrible. Jagged and blotchy with castings all around each letter. The speaker is weak, too weak to even bother with. Plenty of in-monitor speakers out there that sound a thousand times better. I wrote ViewSonic about all of this and got a pretty ridiculous response. Most of it had to do with Windows troubleshooting, even though I clearly stated its connected to a Mac. The end solution was a suggestion to pay to have it sent in to them for repair. Its not broken, its just garbage quality. I closed that conversation with the comment that ViewSonic used to be a premium monitor producer, but this reject should have never made it off of the drawing board. I dont understand why gamers hail this thing. I play games too, and I cant help but wonder what kind of rotten game one would be playing that would lend itself to a poor display but still be awesome. None of my games look good at all. I have an old DVI 20 Apple Cinema Display that looks far, far better than this. If it werent for the resolution restriction on my 9 year old display I would really rather use that instead. Do not get this model. It is cheaply made. You will be terribly disappointed in the quality of the picture. This is not, by any measure, a true HD monitor. It can mimic the pixel dimensions but it is far far from able to deliver the quality associated with HD.

> 24 hourI bought this because I needed a monitor, any monitor, to use with a couple of devices with HDMI output. This monitor has overall done a good job for the price, but it has some quirks that you should know about before choosing it. Pros: * Works. No dead pixels. * Reasonably fast to wake up. * The 2 button is a one-press shortcut to switch inputs. * Power supply is internal (no brick on the floor). Cons and quirks: * No built-in USB hub. * The onscreen menu is handled by four buttons in a row: 1 2 ↓ ↑, where 1 is usually back/exit and 2 is usually select. Its slightly tricky to remember which button to push, all of the ranged controls (like brightness/contrast) have to be selected and then changed and it doesnt display this clearly, and the Memory Recall function, which resets all settings, is in the main menu and has no confirmation so its easy to press by accident. * Occasionally has a blip of static a couple seconds after switching source (not recurring, so not really a problem). * Cannot be easily made dim enough for comfortable night-time use; there isnt much brightness range and what there is is tedious to adjust. * Stand has only a tilt adjustment. (When vertical, the height from the tabletop to the bottom edge of the image is 12 cm or 4.5 inches.) * When I connected it to a BeagleBone Black running Linux in text mode, the image was shifted downward about five pixels, so that the bottom line of text is partly cut off (cant see the cursor underscore). This may be a quirk of the BBB, or it may be that the monitor has trouble correctly aligning images which are solid black on the top and bottom edges (wouldnt think that would be a problem in pure digital inputs, though). Mixed-bag notes: * The clear plastic ring at the bottom center is a giant blue power light. It can be disabled in the menu. But it turns amber in sleep mode and this cannot be disabled. * Automatically tries other sources when one goes away. So if you have two computers connected and you put one to sleep itll display the other one, which is convenient. On the other hand, its terrible if you have, say, a Chromecast plugged in to the HDMI port (which *always* provides a signal). This function cannot be disabled. Complete list of ports on the back: * AC power in * Line audio out * Headphones out * HDMI in * DVI in * VGA in

> 24 hourPros 1. Worked great out of the box 2. menu system intuitive 3. nice style 4. power light easy to see, but dispersed below viewsonic symbol so it is not annoying in any way. 5. driver set up was easy 6. device/screen always cool to the touch. Cons Havent found any yet, this is a great desk monitor for everyone who doesnt care that colors are perfect, but most cant tell the difference anyhow. Edit: Been using for a while, there is massive interference in the headphone jack relay. Since I own two of these monitors, the interference is highly noticeable on both. Basically, you just cant use the headphone jack relay. Not only does it not transfer the audio volume well, but anything past 40% volume in the monitor setup wizard creates pulsating interference. 4/5 because of audio problem and it just doesnt make sense to put a monitor without perfect colors as a 5/5.

> 24 hourIm a writer and I spend well over 6 hours a day working. Previously I had been using my ASUS laptop and the 15 screen that is standard with that unit.for all of my work, but I noticed that my eyes were getting tired. I upgraded my eyeglasses which helped a little, and then I made the text a larger size, which also helped, but I didt find either of those things a solution. Thats what I went shopping for. After looking through the selection on Amazon, I settled on either a 24 or 27 inch monitor as what I needed. The reviews were favorable, and the price especially great on the ViewSonic, so I decided to take a flyer on it and see if it would solve my tired eye problems. I connected the monitor via the HDMI cable to my laptop, and after a little fiddling got the monitor to work the way I thought I needed, and the laptop closed and off to the side, (I use a Microsoft blue tooth keyboard and mouse for my writing) After one day I was totally sold on this monitor. I dont play games on the computer, but I have watched some Youtube videos, and one of two Netflix shows when Im goofing off instead of working, and I am thoroughly impressed. The picture is crisp and clear, and yes, its bright, but I can dull it down easily. I find that I like the brightness turned up, and put a color background on my word processor instead of white. My eyes still get tired, but I dont start suffering until near the end of the day, so I am comfortable for many more hours a day than I was previously. I think ViewSonic makes a great product, and I dont have a problem recommending this monitor to anyone who doesnt have very specific requirements that it might not meet, although I cant imagine what those might be. For me, it works like a charm.
