> 24 hourThese are great monitors. We have been buying them for work for the last couple of months. I have yet to receive a defective one or any with dead/stuck pixels. I think we have purchased 20 or so total now. Nice large, vibrant monitors with lots of input options (HDMI, VGA, DVI). It also has a 3.5 mm audio plug if you dont use the HDMI connection but you want to use the monitors speakers (which arent great but you are buying a monitor for the image quality not the speakers!). Easy to setup (tools arent required to attach the stand base) and windows 7 doesnt need any drivers to use the monitor (do any monitors need drivers that arent built in to windows now adays?). If you are looking for a rock solid LED/LCD monitor, look no further. I have been using viewsonic for almost 15 years (for lcd monitors) and I still have my original 19 lcd monitor at home working. I have never had one fail on me and I dont expect to have any fail on me any time soon. The only reason I continue to buy new ones are to get larger screens and wide screen aspect ratios. This monitor has been my favorite so far.

> 24 hourI was looking for a decent size/quality, all-purpose monitor to use for gaming, work, and occasional some tv/movies, and this delivered without breaking my budget. Ive used it for three months and am quite happy. 1080p, multi-input, and essential features sold me on it. With minor adjustments to brightness and contrast I think the picture quality is very good, black/white/color accuracy are all good in my non-expert opinion. The menu is simple and fairly easy to navigate, considering there are only four buttons. Image adjustments are more than enough to suit personal preferences, including game mode/eco mode, auto-off, sleep, plus some things you probably dont need (Example: Response time can be set as standard advanced or ultra fast). The up button acts as a shortcut to enable/disable game-mode quickly. There are more advanced manual adjustments listed that are greyd out, perhaps only available in certain modes or reserved for a more expensive model, but nothing Id want to mess with. Gaming on max settings Ive been more than satisfied, screen tearing has been quite rare/minimal. The included stand is basic but felt reliable, would shake a bit when I typed on my old desk, but I ditched it for an arm-style mount to save space and so I could tilt the screen. VESA mounting was a breeze. The built in sound was surprisingly good, decent volume, but I have better speakers so I only tested it briefly. My only minor gripes: With default settings, the clear plastic bit along the bottom remains illuminated blue when powered on. It makes for a very large power indicator, and I found it distracting when watching movies in a dark environment. It can be disabled (Menu >Setup Menu > deselect Power Indicator) so that it only flashes once when pressing a button or going to sleep. No longer distracting but still unnecessary. Took off one star for that and the stand. Its perfectly functional but if youre picky or your desk isnt just the right height youll probably want to buy a better one.

> 24 hourIm a writer and I spend well over 6 hours a day working. Previously I had been using my ASUS laptop and the 15 screen that is standard with that unit.for all of my work, but I noticed that my eyes were getting tired. I upgraded my eyeglasses which helped a little, and then I made the text a larger size, which also helped, but I didt find either of those things a solution. Thats what I went shopping for. After looking through the selection on Amazon, I settled on either a 24 or 27 inch monitor as what I needed. The reviews were favorable, and the price especially great on the ViewSonic, so I decided to take a flyer on it and see if it would solve my tired eye problems. I connected the monitor via the HDMI cable to my laptop, and after a little fiddling got the monitor to work the way I thought I needed, and the laptop closed and off to the side, (I use a Microsoft blue tooth keyboard and mouse for my writing) After one day I was totally sold on this monitor. I dont play games on the computer, but I have watched some Youtube videos, and one of two Netflix shows when Im goofing off instead of working, and I am thoroughly impressed. The picture is crisp and clear, and yes, its bright, but I can dull it down easily. I find that I like the brightness turned up, and put a color background on my word processor instead of white. My eyes still get tired, but I dont start suffering until near the end of the day, so I am comfortable for many more hours a day than I was previously. I think ViewSonic makes a great product, and I dont have a problem recommending this monitor to anyone who doesnt have very specific requirements that it might not meet, although I cant imagine what those might be. For me, it works like a charm.

> 24 hourI bought this monitor because I will be working from home for the foreseeable future, and wanted a larger monitor (than just my laptop monitor). Overall, I think this is a great monitor for the price. I gave it four stars because of the stand - it is not well designed and is somewhat wobbly. If I bump my desk, the monitor will wobble. I also think its difficult to change the settings. Other than that, Im pleased with the monitor.

> 24 hourFirst off this monitor has stunning detail and clarity in all regards. Text is bright, defined and easy to read. The Video on this monitor looks as good or better than it does on my 42 Samsung LED HD TV. The games I play also look better on this monitor than the other monitors I own (which include these 22 and 23 inch monitors. ViewSonic VA2246M, a HP 2159M and an Acer G236HL. The refresh rate at 60Hz could be better, and compared to an old school CRT it seems to slow frame rate a little more than I care for, but the frame rate was measured from a basic low end PC, with an Intel 2000 onboard graphics adapter, and can be resolved by a simple graphics card upgrade (with a GeForce 630 the frame rate is very acceptable for my purposes). The addition of an HDMI input is a nice addition and is a useful addition compared to other monitors in this price range. (HDMI/DVI/VGA and audio inputs are easily accessible). After setting this monitor up, and comparing it to the other monitors Im using. The color and detail, and contrast is what has really impressed me. At a price near the $160.00 mark, this monitor would seem to priced in the lower echelon of desktop monitors (let alone multimedia units). But its performance seems to reach well above other monitors in this price range. I did play with the color balance a little and it helped to create a more realistic palate when browsing photos and video. But right out of the box the colors were brighter, with more detail than on the other monitors Ive mentioned above. None of those monitors had the crispness in the whites, the deep blacks, or depth of color this monitor has, and none are even close after making a few minor adjustments in the monitors menu pannel. As with most monitors the panel of adjustments are easy to reach and use, and the Intel display adjustments allow for fast easy onscreen preview when adjusting this monitor (which did not require a great deal of tuning to satisfy my needs. In addition to the great color, detail and contrast, other options this monitor offers could make it attractive for many buyers. 1. The game mode option adjust contrast, and might or might not be something I use in the future, but its there and might come in useful. 2. The mounting options give the monitor some flexibility and at this size I could see mounting it on a wall for various uses. 3. Built in 2 watt SRS Audio might be attractive in many environments. 4 The weight, it is very lite for a 24 monitor which makes handling quick and easy. 5. Streaming Video from YouTube - Amazon Prime and Netflix on this monitor is as good as it gets. As I said the monitor looks as good or better than my Samsung HD TV. (unlike the other monitors I own this monitor re-creates a true HD experience. Im sure there are other things to consider, and these few might or might not be on everyones list, but at least a couple were on mine. Over all Not owning a monitor over $200.00 I cannot really compare this unit to one of the higher rated displays. But rating it at a monitor closer to $150.00 mark than the $200.00 price range I can say my initial reaction is that if your thinking about its a very good bet. The assembly should take maybe two minutes if your slow (meaning fast and easy). The resulting construction feels solid and it sits square without wobble on my desk. I did not try the speakers, since I have a set that I enjoy and at 2 watts the speakers were not a part of my purchasing decision. I was hoping for at least good color and detail and I believe that this monitor does an excellent job and surpasses my hopes in those regards. Even attached as a basic workstation monitor, this monitor expands the basic productivity that my other monitors provide in that regard. The actual display at 23.6 is large enough to create a smooth easy transition between multiple tasks... However this monitor goes far beyond a basic workstation unit and does a very good to excellent job in multimedia and gaming situations as well (matched with a PC designed for gaming I think it would be a very good choice as an entry level gaming monitor as well). Finally Im Extremely happy with this purchase, and would recommend it as a great choice for an everyday 24 display.

> 24 hourWhat I was looking for was a decent monitor with good blacks and clear text even when the brightness & contrast are turned up. I like a relatively bright screen, but I want my black background to look like the monitor is turned off. I use Photoshop for solely for fixing up photos of my kids, so Im not professional. I causally play FPS games once an a while, but Im not hard-core. I mostly use my machine for coding, word documents, etc. I had the following monitors hooked up all at once: an Acer K242HL-LED, an ASUS VN247H-P and the View Sonic VX2452MH. They are all the same price range give-or-take a fist full of dollars. The Acer was terrible. The blacks were mostly gray and the text looked terrible. The ASUS was much better than the Acer, but it was hard to get good blacks and good contrast. I spent some time messing around with the settings but never had a satisfactory configuration. I was about to write how bad the ghosting is and was surprised it was so bad on a 2ms monitor -- particularly bad when you drag a window around with dark text on a blue-ish background (think Office 2003/SSMS). Then I remembered seeing an option for Response Time in the settings. I just changed it from the default of Ultra Fast to Standard and there is no ghosting at all. The ViewSonic is not as nice as the previous version (which Ive paired this one with). The buttons for the OSD are physical buttons where as the previous version used a touch-sensitive bevel. The ViewSonic is by far the winner of these three and is a good buy once youve configured it correctly.

> 24 hourI have no idea what happened. I just came home one day and noticed, while plugged in, the orange light wasnt on. Ive tested several outlets but nothing turns it on any more. Theres also no clear way to disassemble and see if its a PSU issue.

> 24 hour** UPDATE: Its not even a year since ordering this and the HDMI port is completely trashed. Have to use an HDMI to DVI converter cord. So there you have it. Not even one year and aside from it being a piece of garbage in terms of quality it doesnt hold up to daily use. Simply the worst monitor I have owned in more than thirty years. ** There is not much to say about this monitor other than it is simply terrible. I purchased it to use as a second, larger monitor for use with my MacBook Pro when doing video editing and daily work use. Where to begin. Colors are so far off out of the box ViewSonic should be embarrassed. Days of fiddling got them nearly right, but still quite noticeably off. Next is the clarity. Text is horrible. Jagged and blotchy with castings all around each letter. The speaker is weak, too weak to even bother with. Plenty of in-monitor speakers out there that sound a thousand times better. I wrote ViewSonic about all of this and got a pretty ridiculous response. Most of it had to do with Windows troubleshooting, even though I clearly stated its connected to a Mac. The end solution was a suggestion to pay to have it sent in to them for repair. Its not broken, its just garbage quality. I closed that conversation with the comment that ViewSonic used to be a premium monitor producer, but this reject should have never made it off of the drawing board. I dont understand why gamers hail this thing. I play games too, and I cant help but wonder what kind of rotten game one would be playing that would lend itself to a poor display but still be awesome. None of my games look good at all. I have an old DVI 20 Apple Cinema Display that looks far, far better than this. If it werent for the resolution restriction on my 9 year old display I would really rather use that instead. Do not get this model. It is cheaply made. You will be terribly disappointed in the quality of the picture. This is not, by any measure, a true HD monitor. It can mimic the pixel dimensions but it is far far from able to deliver the quality associated with HD.

> 24 hourOne major problem for me. The picture on this monitor is so sharp and bright that I found it slightly distracting. So I had to make a few adjustments on the menu like dialing down the brightness and contrast. Dont get me wrong. This is a compliment. Usually I take the factory default settings and live with them. But this actually required some minor changes. In fact, I am using it right now. The disc that came with the unit was worthless to me, but I dont think you really need it. By the way, I like all the little additions on this model so you have lots of options to plug in cables with 3 or 4 letters or even sound. Its hard to count but I believe it came with speaker, VGA, DVI cables. I dont recall seeing an HDMI cable but I have plenty of spare ones. It says it is certified for Windows 8, but seems to function just fine on 10. It would have been helpful to get this on sale, but I needed it like yesterday to replace an old dying unit. So far this works great and is strongly recommended for someone with a small crowded desk like mine.

> 24 hourThe basic key to this purchase is the price offered for the combined LED, 2 ms response time, resolution, and the size of the monitor. Having used it for a week now, I can say its visuals are a great upgrade to the older models and the 21 inch. At the 1920 x 1080 resolution, the graphics in World of Tanks or Lord of the Rings online are fantastic, and there is no noticeable blurring as camera/action swings around. (Im running a NiVida GE 1050 card and a 3.2 ghz clock, so the monitor is tasked with plenty of signal.) Setup was simple with the DVI cable. Came with a VGA cable and audio cable as well. Audio cable is needed if you want to utilize the sound, which is nothing special. Two small speakers with sound emanating from behind the monitor. More than adequate for notifications or simple game sounds. But no one buys a monitor for the sound anyway, they buy for the visuals, and this serves up a visual feast, rivaling monitors costing an extra $50 or more. Negatives are a somewhat thicker bezel (read boarder) and an antiquated volume, contrast, brightness control system. Its one of those buttons brings up a menu, another one moves the arrows, the first one selects, a third one sets....etc. What a pain. Especially, when the buttons are on the bottom, back side of the monitor, not easy to reach. I found if you set the monitor visuals once and use your computer audio/volume to set sound, you dont have to use these much. All told, Id buy this again.
