Greater than one weekI got this because the heating pad I bought at the local pet store was awful. This was the size it advertised and heats up quicker than the ZooMed brand that I had before. You should get a thermostat to go with it or it can burn your animals. My only beef with it is that the adhesive isnt the most effective. I had to secure a couple of the corners with aluminum tape, but thats a quick and easy fix. Its keeping my snake nice and warm (but not too hot with the thermostat. Theyre expensive but vital for good pet care).

Greater than one weekI purchased 2 of these units....both controls had LED burned out or shorted making it impossible to see the temperature with in 3 weeks. I cant believe Amazon only gives a month to return. These things are junk.

> 3 dayI love the Vivosun under tank heaters! We use them for our snakes.... and I use their heat mat temp controller thermostats to regulate the temp of the mat itself. They’re amazing!

> 3 dayI got this for my daughters new ball python after reading all the glowing reviews. It was pretty easy to set up, but the suction cup to hold the temperature probe does nothing - had to swap it out with a completely different one - and so far, its just not getting to the desired temp. Its warm, just not warm enough, even after setting the temperature gauge where we want it. Im swapping it out for a more expensive, but more recommended by the pros one, but Im still going to keep it as a backup in case the other one goes out/for when it will. The lights on the thermostat are also very bright, just as a warning if its going in a bedroom.

> 3 dayIm not using this as it was intended. Im using it for a breader colony of dubia roaches. It is heating plastic containers. There is still a good amount of heat transfer through the thick plastic containers. I like the controlls, easy to use good display. It works even though im using it for its not intended purpose

> 3 dayI got both an 8x12 and a 6x8 for two separate tanks for my hermit crabs. The larger of the two works wonderfully, no complaints. But within a month, maybe less, the digital readout on the temperate control thing quit working. It just reads 0 though the pad is actually heated up. Very disappointed.

> 3 dayIf you bump the cord even slightly it will stop heating and won’t turn back on! Not sure if I just got a defective one but I literally used it for a week and I woke up to my tank at 72 degrees when it’s supposed to hit 85. This is dangerous. Do not for any reason buy this for any kind of sensitive reptile or amphibian.

> 3 dayBought it to stick on the inside of my small resin 3D printer enclosure (approx size of a 3-gallon tank). It has worked well so far keeping the enclosure 10-15C over ambient (garage was getting down <15C overnight, needed 25C for good printing). Adhesive holding well so far on the side of the plastic tank. Will test regulation as the weather warms - resin, like reptiles, does not appreciate being cooked :D
