05-06-2025I bought my 17 yo a leo gecko for Christmas and after researching got this heat pad for her tank. It has NEVER reached the temp I set it for and if she turns off the heating lamp it drops even lower. It’s a complete waste of money, I do not recommend it and will not be purchasing again.

> 3 dayIt’s not the best mat and thermostat, but for the price it works great. I had to mess with it for about a week to get it where I wanted it. It sticks good but it helps if it’s warmed up to get it to stick. I would buy it again if I need it. I’m using for a ball python 40 gallon tank. I still use a heat emitter with it to keep temps at range, but it works pretty good.

> 3 dayHave been trying for a month and a half to get these to heat properly. Changed the substrate. Put minimal substrate. Added a ceramic heat emitter. ALL THREE I bought get nowhere even remotely close to the heat I set them at (even with the heat emmiter) and thats with the thermostat probe IN THE DIRT needless to say the air above the mat is even colder.

> 3 dayNot really sure how small of a container I would need to use in order for the heat pad to be worthwhile, but it is what it is. I just use it with another heat pad at the same time to maintain a temperature that I need. Wish I could just return the pad for 10 bucks or whatever.

> 3 dayI had this on my daughters ball python enclosure. Nothing wrong with the pad but the thermostat quit working in only 5 months. Not acceptable to lose heat on a loved reptile in the middle of winter.

> 3 dayI attached the heating pad to the bottom of an aquarium for a snake. The adhesive is of poor quality because in less than a week, the weight of the pad was enough to make it fall from the bottom of the tank. Bad thing is, I had bought 2 of these and both were a disappointment. Lesson learned.

> 3 dayIt gets too hot. And I have a thermostat on it

> 3 dayDoesn’t get as warm as advertised. Have to set the thermostat 10 -15 degrees warmer than what you actually want. I have to check it multiple times a day with my thermometer gun. Sometimes it falls well below what I have it set for. It’s just consistently inconsistent. Invest your money in a radiant heat panel from a reputable source if you’re using this for reptiles.
