> 24 hourIm a 21 year old that wants a longboard as a means of getting around my college campus and for recreational use. I chose a board over a bike because the board is much more portable (i.e fits in a car). Ive always loved board sports (skateboarding, snowboarding, paddleboarding), so I figured it was time to get my first longboard. Did some research and item comparisons to a longboard my friend got at Target and a bunch of other longboards right here on Amazon. Pulled the trigger not knowing what to expect. Heres my impression of the board: Deck: Deck was the perfect size for me. I am 60, have longer than average limbs/legs and am currently around 190 lbs. It does have a bit of give/flex that made me uncomfortable at first out of fear the board will break (and that I will break something along with it), but this fear goes away the more comfortable you get with it. Skateboards tend not to have this level of board flex because of the smaller wheelbase. Good grip on top. Bottom came with a few bumps and imperfections on the finish, but nothing a week or two of regular use wouldnt have done to it anyways. I also understand because this isnt a professional board, so Im expecting quality, but understandably not the best. Only issue is the tail/nose are tiny, so while you do have a longer wheelbase in relation to the size of the board, its difficult to prop the board up on 2 wheels. Trucks: Seems to be average quality. I thought the handling was too soft for me, so I tightened the kingpins a bit. And then lossened them. And then tightened them. It took maybe 5 minutes to find my preferred tightness, which is one where I dont feel wobbly and can still turn. Ive gone down a few hills and I felt stable after my first couple runs where I was a bit afraid about not knowing how fast I would go and if I could handle the speed. Again, Im a beginner, but I was able to figure it out. Ive tried going for sharper turns by putting more of my body weight on one side/over the edge of the board, but I keep falling. Im gonna chalk that up to the fact that Im new to this and not blame the board. Wheels: Wheels seem to be decent quality similar to the trucks, though the trucks are better quality. Again, not cheap but not the best quality. Decent. Average or a bit above average, I wouldnt say below average. I will probably replace the wheels with Shark Wheels later on. The bearings, though, were terrible. I followed the advice of another reviewer and bought some Bones Redz for around $10 (without spacers, spacers are already included). Huge improvement on the stock bearings without even breaking them in. Its a shame they cut corners here. Now that theyre broken in, I get a lot more distance on each push. To summarize: -Board components are all average or a bit above average, with the exception of the bearings, which are terrible. Im new to longboardong, this is my first longboard and Im buying it over the internet without any real external guidance, so I didnt want to spend more money without truly knowing the best board to get. I couldnt find a cheaper board that came assembled and didnt come from eBay. Nothing about this board astounded me, but thats just because I had realistic expectations. Overall, I am satisfied with my purchase and I dont think you can find a better board for $49. If it came with a decent set of bearings I wouldnt have had to replace, I would have given it 5 stars. Edit 1: Its 2 weeks later and Ive cleaned the bearings I bought for the first time and replaced the wheels with Shark Wheels (70 mm 78A Ghost Formula). I rode it around for the past 2 days and though I originally didnt like the new wheels, I changed my mind after I saw how much faster I could go, how mich firther I could coast, and how I didnt get stuck on cracks that would have tripped me up on my other set of wheels. I also ordered a pair of Caliber II 50-degree trucks and I expect to see improved handling since these are 40 degree trucks. Still like the board. Edit 2 (01/03/2019): At this point, Ive logged dozens of hours on this board. I now own other longboards, but this is my favorite. The deck, while not the highest quality, remains the only original part of the board. I still stand by my statement that it is worth the money; if you want a real professional longboard board, youre going to have to spend at least $150 on just the deck itself. With that money, I bought a pair of Caliber II trucks for $35, a set of Shark Wheels for $45 or $40 (cant find receipt), and Bones Reds bearings for about $10. Those 3 elements, especially together, will change the way the board performs and responds more than just the deck. Just some food for thought.

> 24 hourI bought this for myself and my 10yo enjoyed it so much I had to get him one as well! Very stable and smooth riding. Perfect for beginners and old folks like me. Very easy to turn, even for my son who is about 5’ tall. I tightened the trucks just a bit after it arrived but have not touched it otherwise. We’ve been using both boards for a few months now and no issues. Highly recommend!

> 24 hourDay one review: Arrived super fast in a very oversized box. Board looks and rides amazing. The bearings and wheels are excellent which is what I was worried about most. I did not feel any resistance or need to change them out. They didn’t even need lube to get that gentle ride. Board has just the right amount of flex, I am 5’11” 190 pounds easy and it supports me up and down the curbs. The length is nice and long but still comfortable to ride. The drop through trucks are a little bit to get used to under your foot when using the tail but not anything that can’t be overcome. Graphics on the board are superb and I was very impressed with the detail. Better than the picture could show hands down. I went with the solar system option. If you are thinking about it then this is the board for you. Don’t hesitate and get this, you will definetly be satisfied.

> 24 hourThis is my first time riding a longboard. Like others have said, the board has plenty of flex but I grew up on a fiberglass board decades ago, so this doesnt bother me. It actually helps to absorb bumps and provide stability in my opinion, like a shock absorber. Im 62 and about 210 and reasonably athletic for a well-seasoned dude and Im quickly becoming comfortable on this deck. Other reviews have noted the tight plastic wrapping upon delivery, but mine arrived in a large clear bag. My belief is that it was previously returned, but there was no wear to indicate prior usage. The nuts on all the wheels and the kingpins were relatively loose and required tightening/adjusting. So Im tooling around, trying to rekindle that muscle memory when I hear an awful grinding sound. Back in the day I recall catching a pebble every now and then and I had assumed this is what happened, but when I looked down I see a missing wheel. As the nut was still attached to the truck, and the nylon ball holders and one of the bearing caps was still hanging on the truck as well, I can only assume I was the victim of a seized bearing. All told, for the price, Im very satisfied. Just check or replace your bearings for a better experience.

> 24 hourI tried to buy a longboard that was similar to the one I previously had and this one was perfect! It turns nicely and feels very smooth and strong. I highly recommend it for someone who’s an experienced beginner or a little intermediate. I don’t think it’s great for a newbie though.

> 24 hourA couple of weeks ago I decided to finally pull the trigger and buy a longboard and after a little bit of research and indecision I decided to settle on the Volador because of its relatively low price point and nice simplistic design. When the board arrived, I took it for a test run to see if I liked the feel of the board. Apart from the tightness of the trucks everything seemed fine, although the trucks were a bit tight so I ended up loosening them a bit so I could take turns better.. When I took it back inside and took a closer look at the board, I noticed that the grip tape had bubbles. Im not sure if that was a result of riding around in the heat or if they was there before, but fortunately that was an easy fix with a screwdriver to pop the bubbles. Now that a few weeks have passed and I have broken the board in somewhat,I can say that for $60.00, this is a solid purchase if you are looking to buy a long board. The deck is solid with little-no-flex. The wheels are holding up fine and there has not been any visible deformities yet. The bearings that the board came with are decent, however, I did have to clean them and re-grease after I rode the board in the rain. But becasue these bearings are rubber shielded it was not a hassle and easy to do. Overall a solid board for the price.

> 24 hourIm a beginner at longboarding, but Im not one to just buy something that looks cool/pretty assuming it will be good quality. Ive researched a lot regarding what type of deck would be nice for me, and Ive also asked my friends who longboard what I should go with. My area has a lot of slopes and straightaways, so I wanted a board that would be great for cruising but I also didnt want to break the bank, especially since Im only a beginner. Overall, I just wanted a decent board thats affordable and rides well. This board is honestly a pretty nice ride. I was recommended a drop through deck since these are better for cruising and carving, which is all I want lolol. The wheels are alright, they could be better. I figured I just had to break them in by riding for an hour or so, but I loosened them a bit and that made all the difference. I might replace them with something else soon though. As for the trucks, they are a bit tight at first, so if you really want to make smooth turns without lifting and moving the board with your weight at the back, I suggest getting a skate tool to loosen the trucks. You can just fine tune it to your liking. The design is one of my favorite things about the board! I got the vintage floral design since I love floral print, and I think the design on the grip tape is pretty rad as well. As for the deck quality, I think its pretty good. Im a small and lightweight person (barely 115 lbs) so the board doesnt respond that much to my weight even if I jump on it, so I let my dad (whos always been a fit and burly dude) stand on it and kind of gently bounce on the board, but it definitely holds it own. This is a great size too if you want more stability compared to a regular skateboard, nickel board, or penny board. Like I said, Im small, but this board has a low center of gravity which I freakin love because Im more comfortable cruising on it. If you plan on bombing hills and whatnot though, I suggest changing out the bearings with ones that are designed for a faster ride. Overall, the board is great if youre looking for a starter board and dont want to spend a lot of money. Ive been practicing every other day for 20 minutes at a time for about 2 weeks now, and Im already comfortable with my backyard roundabout area, so now I just gotta take it around the neighborhood. :)

> 24 hourPros: - Board looks good. - Works fine. Cons: - The packaging was terrible. The box came severely damaged. The packaging wasnt great either. However, the longboard itself was not hurt and thus I wont rate deduct more than 1 star for that. - Bearings arent very good. I strongly recommend switching them out. If youre new to it, dont worry its super easy just look up a YouTube tutorial. Youll need to buy some bearings and a tool to unscrew the wheels. I personally used: * https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B075HVWRGM/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1 * Then used these bearings: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B06XXK6FPQ/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1 * Also, its worth noting that when taking off the wheels you will see two very thin washers or something (not sure what theyre called). One on each side of the wheel. Be sure the smooth side is against the wheel otherwise the wheel wont spin as fast & easily.

> 24 hourThis is my first board Ive purchased for myself. Im really liking the experience of boarding down a huge hill even though Ive fallen from death wobbles a couple times. My friends have loosened the trucks for me noting that Im about 133 lbs and not heavy. Also, having shorter legs at 52, the length of this board gives me ample room to have a comfortable wide stance when riding. Others that are taller than me and range in weights from 165-220 have said: -They would replace the trucks -The board itself is too bendy for them due to their weight -The bearings are uneven (or something like that... I dont remember) Overall, this board is a great fit for me as a lighter weight person and a beginner!
