> 3 dayIve been riding this longboard nearly every day for a couple months. Im in my early 30s and this is the first longboard Ive had, and it was a good choice. The price is great, the board looks and feel good too. I absolutely love the fish design in the grip tape. I can carve on the streets and Ive been using this to commute a mile or so into downtown Boise. I generally take the sidewalks, but I also will ride on the streets when its smooth. I have to say long boarding is quite fun (and a good workout!). Ive been using this board as training until I get an electric Boosted Board, but its so much fun Ill probably keep it even when I dont have to push anymore. The only bad thing Ive noticed about the board is I think maybe the bearings are a little slow? I had some fellow long boarders pass me the other day. Makes me wonder if I should upgrade to some ceramic bearings. Other then that I really enjoy it.

Greater than one weekMy daughter is going off to college in the fall to California. While she was visiting there she saw lots of longboarders on the campuses and figured she had to have one, so we embarked on doing a ton of online research and arrived at the Volador Freeride Longboard. Given the circumstances of her being a new rider, and being value conscious consumers, we concluded that the Volador was a good choice. It has good all-around components. The bearings are ABEC9, meaning theyre manufactured to exacting tolerances. The trucks are 40 degree, meaning they are amateur friendly and arent going to be overly twitchy at speed. The wheels are 78A, meaning they arent too soft that they wear out fast and not too slow to accelerate. Theyre neither so hard that youre going to feel every imperfection in the tarmac and lack grip. In other words, all the components seem very well matched for both the board and the rider. So we get the board and start bombing down our driveway! Well, not right away, but we (meaning I) got there by the end of the day. In the meantime my teenager daughter, 10 year old son, and I took turns on the board and all had such a great time, that we all decided we each needed to get our own board. The board is a lot of fun and a great value! $70 seemed like a lot of money to me at first, but it seems like a bargain now! I have since continued my research (because my daughter will no longer allow my heavy, risk-taking self on her board) going into skate shops and I cannot say I can tell a difference between this Volador and boards costing up to $200. I have every expectation that the board will hold up and provide years of service. Time will tell of course, but for now, I have to give it 5 stars for initial overall service, value, and performance!

> 3 dayIm a 21 year old that wants a longboard as a means of getting around my college campus and for recreational use. I chose a board over a bike because the board is much more portable (i.e fits in a car). Ive always loved board sports (skateboarding, snowboarding, paddleboarding), so I figured it was time to get my first longboard. Did some research and item comparisons to a longboard my friend got at Target and a bunch of other longboards right here on Amazon. Pulled the trigger not knowing what to expect. Heres my impression of the board: Deck: Deck was the perfect size for me. I am 60, have longer than average limbs/legs and am currently around 190 lbs. It does have a bit of give/flex that made me uncomfortable at first out of fear the board will break (and that I will break something along with it), but this fear goes away the more comfortable you get with it. Skateboards tend not to have this level of board flex because of the smaller wheelbase. Good grip on top. Bottom came with a few bumps and imperfections on the finish, but nothing a week or two of regular use wouldnt have done to it anyways. I also understand because this isnt a professional board, so Im expecting quality, but understandably not the best. Only issue is the tail/nose are tiny, so while you do have a longer wheelbase in relation to the size of the board, its difficult to prop the board up on 2 wheels. Trucks: Seems to be average quality. I thought the handling was too soft for me, so I tightened the kingpins a bit. And then lossened them. And then tightened them. It took maybe 5 minutes to find my preferred tightness, which is one where I dont feel wobbly and can still turn. Ive gone down a few hills and I felt stable after my first couple runs where I was a bit afraid about not knowing how fast I would go and if I could handle the speed. Again, Im a beginner, but I was able to figure it out. Ive tried going for sharper turns by putting more of my body weight on one side/over the edge of the board, but I keep falling. Im gonna chalk that up to the fact that Im new to this and not blame the board. Wheels: Wheels seem to be decent quality similar to the trucks, though the trucks are better quality. Again, not cheap but not the best quality. Decent. Average or a bit above average, I wouldnt say below average. I will probably replace the wheels with Shark Wheels later on. The bearings, though, were terrible. I followed the advice of another reviewer and bought some Bones Redz for around $10 (without spacers, spacers are already included). Huge improvement on the stock bearings without even breaking them in. Its a shame they cut corners here. Now that theyre broken in, I get a lot more distance on each push. To summarize: -Board components are all average or a bit above average, with the exception of the bearings, which are terrible. Im new to longboardong, this is my first longboard and Im buying it over the internet without any real external guidance, so I didnt want to spend more money without truly knowing the best board to get. I couldnt find a cheaper board that came assembled and didnt come from eBay. Nothing about this board astounded me, but thats just because I had realistic expectations. Overall, I am satisfied with my purchase and I dont think you can find a better board for $49. If it came with a decent set of bearings I wouldnt have had to replace, I would have given it 5 stars. Edit 1: Its 2 weeks later and Ive cleaned the bearings I bought for the first time and replaced the wheels with Shark Wheels (70 mm 78A Ghost Formula). I rode it around for the past 2 days and though I originally didnt like the new wheels, I changed my mind after I saw how much faster I could go, how mich firther I could coast, and how I didnt get stuck on cracks that would have tripped me up on my other set of wheels. I also ordered a pair of Caliber II 50-degree trucks and I expect to see improved handling since these are 40 degree trucks. Still like the board. Edit 2 (01/03/2019): At this point, Ive logged dozens of hours on this board. I now own other longboards, but this is my favorite. The deck, while not the highest quality, remains the only original part of the board. I still stand by my statement that it is worth the money; if you want a real professional longboard board, youre going to have to spend at least $150 on just the deck itself. With that money, I bought a pair of Caliber II trucks for $35, a set of Shark Wheels for $45 or $40 (cant find receipt), and Bones Reds bearings for about $10. Those 3 elements, especially together, will change the way the board performs and responds more than just the deck. Just some food for thought.

> 3 dayThis Longboard is okay at best. The first problem with this board is the bearings. If you intend on keeping this board, the bearings will need to be replaced. The ones that came on my board were slow and already dirty, they were also loud and grinding. My board also had a washer missing on one wheel. Also, for a board that comes with bearing spacers, I shouldnt have to loosen the nut on the wheels for them to turn freely. I replaced the bearings with Bones Reds, which was a much better replacement. The second problem with this board is the truck bushings. The bushings are super soft and squeak a lot. Also, the pivot/cup bushing seems too small or the pivot hole in the truck base plate is too big... The pivot is very loose and doesnt sit very nicely inside the cap. Rest of the truck seems fine though. I will be replacing the bushings that came with the board. The board does flex, but it does not seem like comfortable flex like you would get on a nice expensive deck meant to flex. Well see how the deck performs. Luckily this board is for my girl-friend and she is rather light. At the end of the day, this is a pretty cheap complete board at 60 bucks. For a bit of extra money, you can turn it into a decent board. The parts that seem decent on this board are the wheels, the grip tape, the hardware, and the decal on the bottom of the board. This is my experience with the board. I will mention that I read through pages of reviews on this board before I bought it, unfortunately I got the sense that other peoples reviews may not be the most honest and then I started seeing that people were getting these discounted in return for honest reviews. I almost always stay away from products that have reviews like that, and for good reason. Companies should not need to buy reviews, the product should speak for itself. So, buyer beware. If you are looking for a good board that you can get shipped and immediately ride without issue or replacing anything, get a Sector 9. Those have always been a quality board in my experience. You pay a little more, but I can guarantee you that you will be more satisfied. Riding this board vs a Sector 9 out of the box is a night and day difference (the Sector 9 will actually roll).

> 3 dayI like it. Im used to skateboards but not much in a long board. If you buy a built deck that you don’t get to configure then you’ll want to replace the trucks, bearings and wheels with a better set eventually or depending on your preference. I enjoy a smoother ride so I’ll be upgrading. But $70 for everything, even if the only thing included was the deck, is cheap. I can see how a lot of boards came damaged at the time of delivery since Amazon didn’t put any packing material in the box at all. The bird was getting thrown around in there. I have a tiny piece of grip tape that’s a little damaged, but that’ll happen when using the board anyway. Eventually all grip tape needs to be replaced. This is a great starter board though, that you can upgrade as needed. I’m about 127 lbs, so buying a board isn’t really a worry for me, if you’re taller, heavier or more muscular however I’d recommend going to a skate shop or an online retailer with stronger boards. I figure I’ll have this board for about 1-2 years before it would need replacing.

> 3 dayThis is a great board. some of the hardware was loose but a quick tighten down and it was ready to ride. The graphics are really nice, the grip tape looks fantastic. Id add pictures but it is EXACTLY as pictured. This is superb and I would definitely buy this again.

> 3 dayIts a good board for the price range. it feels light and resposive when taking corners, NO WHEEL BITE! Its incredibly stable at high speeds 30-35+mph and grips well, there is a nice curve on the edges to keep your feet where they belong, also a little kick-up on the front and rear to make picking it up easy, may need to tighten or loosen up some things when you get it, wheels, bushings, etc.(I gave the bushings about two turns tighter and I dont get wheel bite, Im 59 150lbs to put into perspective) just needs a good set of bearings and its a competitive setup.

> 3 dayPretty pleased with this longboard overall. The deck is a little stiff but not bad. The wheels it comes with are decent. I’ve rolled over quite a bit of pebbles and twigs with no really issues. My only complaint is that the bearings did not last long at all. Two of them have already gone bad in just a little over a month so those already need to be replaced. Other than that I’d say it was worth the money.

> 3 dayThe Board is definitely easy to learn on, make no mistake it was likely the easiest learning experience Ive had on a board because it comes with pretty tight trucks and a nice wide board surface. It is also a concave deck style, so its easy to feel where your feet are meant to go. A few tips to make this board perform a little better right out of the box, and not overwork your ankle: Buy a Skatetool immediately, loosen the wheel nut on all 4 wheels to get more spin out of the wheels, loosen the trucks evenly, and make sure that they are even because there is no defined front on the board, meaning you can skate in both directions on the board. Also, I dropped some 90mm magneto VOLTS on this board just for fun, and while it can take that size, make sure you tighten the trucks up some to avoid wheel bite because you cant get wheel bite with the 70mms it comes with, but you certainly can get it with larger wheels. My primary negative of this board is that it is so HEAVY compared to many other comparable boards. Dont expect to be doing many longboard tricks with this board, even though it has a pronounced kicktail.
