> 24 hourThis is our second fan purchased. Love to bring the fresh night air in as long as possible and this product does a great job with several settings and a remote.

> 24 hourI really like this fan overall, but there are a couple of questionable design choices. The Good: - This thing is quiet. Even at the highest setting, it doesnt sounds like a typical fan on high. - Moves a surprising amount of air. Its basically a really long scroll fan. - The fan only moves in one direction. There is a physical diverter that rotates inside to switch between intake and exhaust. The best part is that this diverter closes when you turn the fan off, which somewhat seals off the outdoors. - For a fan, this thing is pretty stylish and low-profile. It doesnt take a lot of vertical space up in your window so a lot of light can still flow through. The Bad: - The foam blocks to seal off the sides are just stupid. I couldnt get them to fit around the fan in my 27 window, which is an exceedingly common window width. I had to buy separate weather stripping to seal it off (pictured in attached photos). I again want to stress that the foam blocks didnt work in my brand new, modern window. - In auto mode (where it blows until you reach a set temperature) the fan tends to cycle on and off a lot, as in every 30 seconds. It seems like this could be easily solved by reprogramming the fan to allow slightly more temperature swing - The thermostat seems somewhat inaccurate, because it senses the temperature in the windowsill and not the room itself. Overall, I still like this fan a lot. If you just want to use it in dumb mode where it blows and blows and blows, its a great fan. If you want to use the Auto feature to try and set an exact temperature in the room, it could be a little better.

> 24 hourWorks well. Fairly silent and does manage to shift all the hot air out of a room in a few minutes. I mounted it at the top of my window in rhe computer room as that room gets hot and stuffy fast Maor gripe with it....you cant tell if its on or off. The power led stays on all the time, and the rest of the display powers off after a few seconds..fine..but you cant seeif its on or off. If the power led went red while powered down or something...but nope. Looks powered on even when off. Or off when on. Very annoying. But even with that ive ordered another to go under my desk. Its quiet enough for that and has low vibration. No more mosquitos chewing my elbows. Got the second one in black. Also pretty awesome. Can confirm they use the same code so the remotes are interchangeable and can affect two devices at once.

> 24 hourThe airflow is great. Keeps the air moving and has been a great help for both me and my cat (we’ve got allergies). The design is great as it fits in the window nicely as a small sliver, so I don’t have to open the window very wide. This is great because I have a first floor apartment right next to the sidewalk, so this helps with privacy. Win! The remote is awful. Whoever designed the remote cannot be the same people who designed the fan. The remote has to be taken apart with a screwdriver to change or adjust the battery. No screw, no battery contact. It’s a small, pain in the butt detail which causes more wasted time and effort. Example: the remote rarely works. Ever. Why not? I unscrewed and removed the backing. The contact wasn’t making full contact with the battery. I nudged it over. Screwed the screw back in (basically stripping it in the process). Ok, great! It works well now. Half a day later it’s back to working when it wants to. I have to push most buttons on that thing at least 3 or 4 times directly in front of the fan to get it to accept my input. So why use the remote? Because it’s somehow easier than the really bad touch-panel display. I work in tech and am in no way a technophobe, but like, just give me physical buttons. Something that actually makes the user experience easier. All in all I am happy with the fan, but the controls are garbage.

> 24 hourPut this fan in our bedroom a week ago and LOVE IT. Whisper quiet on low and moves plenty of air. Thermostat seems to work pretty well. Fan was off on the cold mornings and kicked back on when the outside temps warmed up. Since we have a first floor bedroom we wanted a fan you couldnt see through and this one is perfect. Highly Recommend.

> 24 hourIve ordered this fan three times. The first and third time was fine, and thats what this review is about. The fan works great. Climate control and remote are awesome futures, but Ive bought the fan mainly because of the exhaust future. One-click of a button and any smoke/vape is out. Now the bad. As other reviewers said, the foam spacers arent the best. The way Ive solved this problem - is the Airconditioner Weatherseal Kit from Home Depot. One piece of urethane foam below and one above the fan will seal it well. And the third piece goes in-between the windows. Also, try to squeeze in the foam pieces (that come with the fan) during an installation. Use the ones that are 1/4 to 1/2 inch larger (per window) than needed. Theres no point in them being there if theyre loose. Finally, about my second (faulty) order. Ordered a Vornado Transom window fan and received a steam cleaner instead. I called Amazon support, and they told me to return it, and everything will be fine. So I returned it to Kohls. After Amazon processed my return, they issued a refund. I thought that was the end of it. But, after two months, Amazon charged me again because they havent received a FAN back. How am I supposed to return an item Ive never received? This is an ongoing issue that is not relevant to the Vornado fan. So It doesnt affect my rating.

> 24 hourI purchased this fan to replace a cheaper one that didn’t even live for a year. This one is so much better! It is a little loud when on full blast, but if you just want some air circulation, it’s not bad at all. I have tested the temperature control, it worked as intended. The fan looks good, works well. Can’t complain about anything.

> 24 hourMy number one priority, in purchasing a window fan, was to get something QUIET. I had spent more money than I would have liked purchasing the traditional two fan window units that are so common today. Based on the promise and supporting reviews that they were very quiet fans, I purchased both a popular Bionaire and a Holmes fan. They were ok, but not nearly good enough. I wanted a fan as quiet as my ceiling fan on low and those two weren’t even in the ballpark. So through more searching, I eventually landed on the Vornado Transom. It’s not a traditional fan by any stretch of the imagination, but a few people said it was extremely quiet. Desperate to find something quieter than the others, I placed my bet. This fan is ACTUALLY quiet! On it’s lowest setting, it is a whisper compared to the other two. No, it’s not ceiling fan quiet, but I would compare it to the sound I’d hear coming through the vent when my central air is running. That’s pretty quiet! On high, yes the fan is much more noisy, but it moves a lot more air when on high. To be clear, low speed moves plenty of air, and high speed is not more noisy than the other models on high. Another difference between the Vornado and the other models, is the the fan speeds are SIGNIFICANTLY different. The difference between low and high on the other models is marginal at best. With the Vornado, low is ACTUALLY low… and high is ACTUALLY high. So you can choose between a quiet fan that gives you a nice breeze, or a noisy fan that moves air with quite a bit of force. Again, this unit on high was about as noisy as the other fans on high. On low, there is no contest. Do you get what I’m saying yet? THIS FAN IS VERY QUIET… MUCH quieter than any other window fan I’ve tried. So that’s the big sell for me. Other good features: The temperature selection works well. I set it up for 70 degrees, and it effectively turned on and off as necessary to bring in the cooler outside air. Since I keep the fan on low, I barely noticed when it turned on and off at all. This fan also gives you great privacy because you can’t see through it whether it’s on or off. A couple of not so great things about it... First, the foam blocks are not great. I needed an additional block that was 1/4 inch wide… I either had to try and squish a 1 inch block in that space (nope) or use something else to seal it. Vornado should rethink this strategy or include 1/2 and 1/4 inch blocks too. Considering the high quality construction of the unit, and the steeper price tag, Vornado should come up with something more eloquent. Secondly, the remote isn’t wonderful. You have to aim it DIRECTLY at the unit while you are DIRECTLY in front of it. And the range of the remote seems to be a pitiful 15 feet or so. I don’t know if that’s typical of this unit, but it’s definitely not great. Despite those two shortcomings, I still give the unit 5 stars based on its EXTREMELY LOW noise level given the decent amount of air it moves. If I ever need an additional window fan, this is the one I’ll get.

> 24 hourIt fits great, presses against the screen a bit so I see why some have an issue with the screen. Because of that it sits about half an inch forward but the foam still keeps it sealed. My window slides right to left so I have it sideways. I had to order another pack of the foam spacers to fill the window all the way to the top, I wish they were available on Amazon but they arent so I ordered directly from the manufacturer. I love that it flips from blow to suck with the press of a button. Overall great product.
