> 3 dayFor starters, I never received the instructions in the box. Although, I think the unit was brand new, and never used. I think it was probably a return, and was being resold as new. Just my thoughts, because of the lack of instructions and the ability to send in a warranty card. I hope this last long time and it remains safe. Also, the remote is not working. How would I ever contact customer service? This bothers me a lot but I love the concept and it is working for me right now. I would like to have a new remote , that works.

> 3 dayEasy for me to install. Wanted fan I could put in window and leave in place for season. I use it to bring in cool air at night and turn off and close house during heat of day, sometimes run portable AC in day if needed. This fan closes when it’s off to block most of outside air (will see how much heat is actually transferred when days get warmer but we had some nights in low 50s when I didn’t run fan and my room temperature stayed the same overnight so unwanted cooler air did not seem to be coming in). Also I have it installed in my bedroom, and like the privacy of not being able to see through the fan from the outside when it is off or operating. Ever since I installed the fan our weather has turned cool so haven’t needed to use it. I did turn it on a couple of nights for a few minutes on low speed just to try it, and it did lower the temperature of room and seemed to be circulating the air well.

> 3 dayI like the way this fan looks in the window. I like that it takes up less space than a typical window fan, by about 50%. Airflow is excellent, reversibility is convenient, and when it’s off, it closes the airflow to reduce draft. And the remote control is a must-have. Slick. The built-in thermostat appears to function well. The fan is not especially quiet. On the lowest setting, it’s loud enough to be distracting while trying to sleep, at ~4-5’ away. More than just “white noise“ but not super loud either. The controls are good, though not as intuitive as they could be. For example: - The up-and-down arrows are on the left and right side of the remote control ring. Placing them at the top and bottom would be more intuitive, particularly while you’re laying in bed in the dark. - Because the controls go into hibernation automatically, the first press of any button just reawakens the controls. So you need to press twice for any function.

> 3 dayWe are using the fan in an older storm type enclosure, that is in between the living room and a glassed in patio, so I knew I would have to get creative to install the fan. But after experiencing the comically bad blocks this comes with I fully understand what others here are griping about. Those blocks will only fit in a very specific type of window frame, and even then Im not convinced theyll do much better then a mediocre job at sealing. As seen in my photo, I actually removed the pane of glass and replaced it with plexiglass that I could cut around the fan, which worked out being awesome. It just baffles me how so much thought and consideration could go into designing this product and then them utterly fail on the fitting for various window sizes. But what can ya do, the fan is by far the best, quietest, most volume, air mover Ive seen. The only improvements I see room for is the blocks system of course, and beyond that I really wish it had WiFi support. Seems a real shame they left that feature off. But anyway, yes, Id recommend with one caveat, that you be prepared to figure out an alternative way of fitting it into your window sealed.

> 3 dayI use it for a year as an exhaust fan for a bathroom window. So far so good. The fan is not as strong, but with slight opening of the door when showering and the fan turn on to highest setting, no molds on walls or ceiling so far. Im looking to buy a replacement or something with higher speed because I notice the fan speed is weaker than it was new a year ago.

> 3 dayWound up giving this to my sister. She says she is very happy with it, especially that it is quiet and has a low profile. It can also used with a screen to keep bugs out; this is a good feature. On the whole we are happy, but do have some complaints. It doesnt isolate the outside air as well as expected and is best removed from the window on cold nights. The foam blocks they include to seal air gaps are barely useable. We received a unit with a nonworking remote, however the manufacturer was great about helping us get a working replacement.

> 3 dayI installed this window fan in under 5 minutes! No tools needed! I purchased the Alexa Enabled model and it took about 10 minutes to get it connected. If you will use the Alexa app, connect the device to your app PRIOR to installing the unit in the window. There is a Barcode on the bottom of your unit. If it does not connect the first time follow the directions on your Alexa app! (You must press the power button until the unit blinks.) My review: First we live in Southern California. Our house was built in 1943. Most of the houses in our neighborhood do not have AC. Needless to say it gets hot but not compared to other areas. Second, I wanted a horizontal fan to sit on top of my armoire. I was NOT looking for a window fan. (We have shutters and I thought the shutters would not accommodate a window fan.) Then I came across the Vornado Transom and I am so happy I purchased this fan! FIRST I installed the fan (as it is meant to be) in the window. - It fit in my window perfectly (ignore the other review of the person showing the modular foam does not fit. Look at her pics the fan itself is not installed in her window correctly.) - my shutters with large slates ALMOST closed completely. If you have shutters with the smaller slates I am confident your shutters will close. - note, the fan works best if you select a window that does NOT get direct sun. It worked like a champ in my window facing north. The window facing west, not so good. SECOND. I put the fan on top of my armoire. OMG! it is keeping my room cool. Yes I know this is NOT how the fan is supposed to be used but the fan will stay on top of the armoire! The fan itself is light weight, quiet, sleek and works like a charm! I love this fan! In fact I’m buying another unit for my Sunroom/Office. 100% would recommend this fan!

Greater than one weekFast delivery, however, it came in damaged packaging. I was concerned with the content but it looked ok. So, I ran a quick test to make sure and it seems no internal damage. Will install it and see if it fits the window using the form blocks provided. Will update the review sometime later.

> 3 dayOn the positive side the fan is very quiet and it fits well in my window. It allows me to leave the window only about 4 inches open which means I can put stoppers on the window and keep anyone from breaking in. The negatives, however, outweigh the positives. Even on high, the fan barely moves any air. A light breeze outside and an open window will do more. The controls are also impossible to see during the day. I had to wait until nighttime to setup the fan direction and speed, and then just turn it on and off during the day. The remote control is no help either. It only intermittently works, the buttons are in the wrong places (the up is on the right and the down is on the left). And the temperature mode and fan direction mode buttons are reversed. The button with the thermometer (bottom) controls the fan direction, and the one with the odd direction symbol (top) controls the temperature setting. Update on the air flow: It turns out the slider that determines the airflow direction was stuck half way. I disassembled the unit and manually moved it all the way in one direction, and now the airflow is quite good.

> 3 dayThe fan is quiet and fairly good at generating an exhaust while it is superior at an intake of air. The remote works adequately well and is certainly not to large. I prefer to use the control on the console. The device can fit well, though it would be better if the blocks intended for use in filling out the window size were a bit more clear in the directions for their configuration. My suspicion is that those who report that there is a bad fit of these blocks have inserted them upside down or backwards, which is easy to do. A top arrow on the inner aspect (or the outer if people do not want to see an arrow) would be an assist so long as the package was clear on which side that arrow should face relative to the fan front. Beyond that, there is a consideration of use for these devices in a more temperate climate. The only thing near as bad that I can imagine for use of a fan such as this beyond a failed function altogether is the need to remove and replace the fan on a seasonal basis. The work involved in replacement and removal and the possible damage in storage are less than seasonal placement of a window air conditioner, but is still bad. I might have hoped that the company could have a fit face-plate available to act to cut any passive flow of cold air to the interior when the weather was inclement. If fitted with some foam and arranged to clip to the front as an add on accessory, this could allow the device to sit in place during colder periods without a need to remove and reinsert. I have made a rubber sheet shade to fit the front of the device with a cloth backing and fixed it to serve this function myself and the seal is very acceptable to make the device more appropriate for when a temperature plunge might occur. Given the nature of the volatility of weather fronts lately, a device like this could be useful to allow the device to be more serviceable, even if a temperature in South Carolina or Texas might plunge for a few days in an area unaccustomed to the alteration. Such events are far from unknown and the device left in place could make its locale in the house uncomfortably cold for a few days or require removal and replacement in a matter of a few days with marked inconvenience. Thought could be made for this simple fix.
