I have a second story bedroom in a reasonably well insulated house. On bright sunshiny days the upstairs gets warm, later in the day. When the sun goes down, the bedroom remains warm for the first part of the night. This fan can exhaust the hot air, or bring in the significantly cooler air, making the room much more comfortable faster. The fan is very quiet and aesthetically it blends with the window. It Allows my motorized room darkening shade to operate automatically and keep the road dark and cool for the evening. It was a wonderful investment.

My 7 month old is getting more sensitive to light. The layers of fabric over the windows keeps getting thicker. It’s summertime and the sun stays out much later than the winter so his 7pm bedtime was getting harder. It was hot in the room. I needed a fan that would let in as little light as possible. This fan is perfect for us. We don’t have to use an AC because we live in the mountains. It does let in a small amount of light but it’s very minimal. If your kiddo needs 100% blackout then a window fan will most likely not work for you. This is the closest to blackout in the market! Would absolutely buy again. Like so many other reviews I wish it came with a few more spacers to fill out gap between the unit and the window frame.

This works great. Good privacy, decent air flow, not fugly. Only issue I have is that it doesnt have any flex in its temp control. This means if youre right on the edge itll turn itself on and off constantly unless you shut it down or turn off the temp control. Annoying if youre actually in the room, but not insurmountable.

Wound up giving this to my sister. She says she is very happy with it, especially that it is quiet and has a low profile. It can also used with a screen to keep bugs out; this is a good feature. On the whole we are happy, but do have some complaints. It doesnt isolate the outside air as well as expected and is best removed from the window on cold nights. The foam blocks they include to seal air gaps are barely useable. We received a unit with a nonworking remote, however the manufacturer was great about helping us get a working replacement.

I purchased this fan to replace a cheaper one that didn’t even live for a year. This one is so much better! It is a little loud when on full blast, but if you just want some air circulation, it’s not bad at all. I have tested the temperature control, it worked as intended. The fan looks good, works well. Can’t complain about anything.

My home office also houses my home server, multiple NAS devices, and a 3d printer. It runs about 10 degrees hotter than the rest of the house and I’ve used a window fan for years. My old traditional window fan started rattling (assuming a bearing is going out) and I found this. I wavered between the remote and Alexa version but ultimately decided on the Alexa version. It’s been really nice to be able to change the settings via voice and it’s been rock solid for both exhaust and direct mode.

1st off, a warning that this fan is designed for a window with a low lower lip (.25 to .50). I have double hung windows with a 1.25 inside lower lip and I ended up having to build a bracket to properly install the unit. That said, once installed, it works great. Its quiet, even on its highest setting. I installed the unit on window for a combined living room open walk thru to kitchen; 28 from window to end wall of kitchen. At its top setting, I can feel air movement at 20 from the window and was able to lower the temp in the two combined rooms several degrees F° in about 1.5 hrs. The remote is simple and easy to use, but is tiny and could be lost easy; put it somewhere you know you can find it. It was worth the cost and I do recommend it if you need something to vent a full room. Just check your window sills carefully before buying to avoid frustration.

Make Sure You measure your window:) I got mine to work but it is outside the replacement window with the window handle holding it, I have a screen so it placed well, good over all design, I think they went for quiet more than power. My old Holmes (they dont make the model anymore) was much more powerful, but much much louder. I use it for exhaust only, it does not pull smoke well, and Im 5 ft. away on level 4. We will see how long it lasts I do like the design.

I had been looking for a replacement for the Lakewood LPRW03 for about 10 years now. Lakewood had been bought out by Honeywell and then the fan was discontinued. The TRANSOM appears to be a modernized model of the LPRW03. The TRANSOM performs very similarly to the LPRW03 as far as noise to air movement ratio. This is very good, being completely below the noise floor of my area at 1, whisper quiet at 2, audible at 3 and somewhat loud at 4. Enough air is moved at speed 2 for me, so this is very appealing. The foam blocks work with my window extremely well. I installed the left foam block first, put the fan in, then slid the right foam block in from above the fan on the right side. The fit was a little on the tight side, but for sealing, thats a good thing. The temperature control leaves a lot to be desired. It is significantly impacted by the outside atmosphere, so you cannot really use it reliably to control the interior temperature. The remote is also oddly short range, which I didnt expect for an IR device. I have to be within about 10 feet for it to work.

It’s well worth the price. It’s quiet and it sits on the window sill where you don’t have to remove the screen or put pressure against the screen, but if you wanted to remove the screen and push it deeper into the window, you could do that too. It has the top and bottom thick foam pads that creates a custom fit to any bottom surface or window. Best of all, it’s sleek looking and quiet. I actually think I’ll be able to sleep with this running vs the noisier blade type window fans.

Transom is the result of a complete re-imagining of what a window fan should be. The air chamber abundantly draws fresh air from the outside in — or reverses electronically to exhaust stale air out. Powerful airflow circulation and comfort at half the height of conventional window fans, Transom is easy to install, blends elegantly into the space and preserves your view. Transom seals off windows 26” to 40” wide with the patented Soft-fit System that provides a sleek, satisfying and snug fit from end to end, without having to remove your screen. Transom – a new kind of window fan.
