When I went to install Webroot it accepted my security key then stopped at scan your computer with the error that it could not connect to the internet. I am wired to the internet and was connected fine. When I went to back out of install it installed anyhow with a broken version. It said that it was an invalid copy. I sent a message to Support. Later decided to uninstall it and try again. It was not listed in Control Panels Programs list. Nor did it have an Uninstall option from the Start Menu. I had to Goggle it and search. There is a line command that you have to type in from the Run command to uninstall. I will stop going on about the details. Here is part of the reply I received from Webroots Customer Service today: Unfortunately, we were unable to locate your account data using the information you have provided. We are more than happy to assist you, but are going to need more information to do so. If you would please provide us with any of the following information, this should enable us to locate your account. 1. The registered name on the account 2. Current and/or previous email addresses you may have used with Webroot. 3. The keycode associated with your Webroot software. 4. The invoice number associated with your Webroot purchase. 5. The last 4 digits of the credit card used for purchase. 6. The date and amount charged, as shown on your billing statement. 7. The WBR number located near the barcode on the box or on your receipt. What the... ? They seem to be accusing me of stealing their software After going hours with out any virus protection and being inconvenienced with their buggy software they want all this information just to advise me? I was happy when I saw the message from them thinking I was going to get help. Then find out they expect me to jump through hoops to get this help. This is the first bad review I have written. Before if I didnt have anything good to say I just didnt leave a review at all. I always try to give Vendors the benefit of a doubt In conclusion I did try to install four different times more. Install continued to fail giving assorted error messages. Finally it spontaneously worked like a charm and I do have Webroot installed and working now.

Installed on my IMac. I have used Norton, McAfee, Kaspersky, and free antivirus software. These programs may be better suited for PCs but Webroot has worked best for me on the Mac. Is not intrusive and keeps my Mac clean. Does not have all the bells and whistles that other antivirus programs have, but you dont really need them with the Apple software. Furthermore, Webroot is less costly. It does not try to continuously try to sell you on upgrading to a premium version and does not interrupt with messages and bulletins. I have never needed to use any tech support so cant rate that feature. Basically, once installed it runs itself.

I purchased this product through Amazon. It saved me a trip to the store, as we were all trying to avoid crowds during the Christmas season. Webroot antivirus always scores well in reviews. We have been using Webroot for at least 8 years, and never had any issues with malware etc. My only complaint, is that the Webroot company, is always trying to get their customers to upgrade and purchase directly from them.

I disable their firewall and use Microsofts instead - my geek buddy said that was preferable. Great deal on line

I dont like to load with a key code. I ordered a disc and it loaded immediately with no trouble. It seems to be working well. The price was good, especially for 3 computers. I had Norton 360 for 3 computers last year. I got it at a nice introductory price . I had no problem with it, but when it was going to renew for another year automatically at about triple the price I decided to shop around. Once Webroot was up and running for awhile I thought I might as well uninstall the Norton antivirus. When I did that it did something to my computer. It would no longer recognize my remote devices, camera and MP3 player. I have extended warranty on my HP computer and they helped me get my computer to recognize them again. I am no computer guru. Im just saying Beware on uninstalling Norton. When I Googled it I read several other people had the same problem. I still have Norton on 2 other computers. It is no longer active, but I intend to just let it sit there.

Had to call Web Root tech support to get my new subscription on my computer when I already had an old version on the computer. Webroot does a poor job of giving existing users clear info on how to do this. Note the need to click on the service wheel to the right of the MY ACCOUNT section at the bottom right hand portion of the Webroot box. Note this is the box that pops up to note your subscription is expired and you need to renew... Once clicked you then enter the new Webroot code from inside your DVD box or code you received via Amazon. Note the service agent I talked to was extremely nice and has sent a note on this to help in the future. Hopefully this helps others who currently need to, or want to update their expired Webroot program.

Ive been fixing computers since I was about 6 years old when computers boomed in 1998 which had most American households owning some kind of computer. Ive dealt with several different anti-viruses such as Norton, McAfee (before they merged with Norton or whatever happened), Kasperski, and several others like AVP. Now to the point... This is by far my favorite anti virus on the market! I originally had my friend who works at geek squad recommend me to this anti virus once Kasperski got ridiculously expensive and slow. Ive had this anti-virus for about 8 months (I got a trial from Best Buy when I bought my new laptop) and I have never experienced such a quality anti virus. Instantly detects and deletes viruses and does a scan quickly. I see why my work uses this anti virus. Pros: - Instant scans! The full computer scans are very quick and efficient. Instantly deals with viruses and whatever the problem is the second it gets on my computer. - Doesnt take that much memory on my computer! Which is great when you are a student and can only afford a business/school laptop with low memory. Like in my case the Lenovo 100s (Which I absolutely love! Its great for the college student who just needs the basics for internet browsing and paper writing). - Cheap price! For what you get for $20 on 3 computers for a year, its incredible. Honestly no cons.

I purchased a renewal subscription from Amazon and was waiting for the prior year subscription to expire. I was in the process of preparing important documents regarding sale of a building. All of a sudden my screen locked up and a web root blue screen gave me a choice of renewing or uninstalling. Even going to task manager and attempting to end the task wouldnt work. I got an error message access denied. I couldnt get out of the blue screen and unfortunately and only a hard reboot of my computer would work which caused me to lose all my unsaved work. All five of my computers locked up the same way. In prior years, you could go to task manager and end the web root task, then proceed to enter your new key code with no need to uninstall. Then try finding a phone number for tech support...good luck. This is a ridiculous way to do business and to treat your customers. A simple message warning you that you need to renew would be sufficient. I can guarantee you Im going to switch antivirus software immediately.
