Greater than one weekWe family of 5 have used thus program to keep us safe. This one is the best for that. Have used 3 other companies in the past, this works the best for us. I installed 5 days prior to another 1 year coverage. I sent a note to Webroot and they guided me how to add the new key without the need to reinstall. Plus our 5 days were added to the 365. ☺

> 3 dayI bought this product after reviewers from several different sources said it was the best. Two weeks after installing it my computer it was taken over by the DNS Unlocker virus. Not only did this Webroot software not detect it, it couldn’t quarantine or repair it. Thankfully, I was able to get rid of it using the instructions from the Microsoft Community postings. I have been using computers since the 1980’s and have installed many different brands of antivirus software and this is the first such problem I have ever had. I guess this is lesson learned and time to move to something else. Update: About 10 minutes after posting my review, James Garcia of Webroot posted his comment. To no surprise, they blame the consumer saying the virus that infected my computer is “a potentially unwanted application that is always installed by user consent”. He then goes on to say that “Anytime that you think you are infected, it is best to reach out to our support team for assistance. They can remote in and resolve issues such as this free of charge”. First, thanks for the rapid response, even if it just to blame me and attempt to do damage control. Second, your company claims that their product (and I quote) “Webroot Internet Security Complete 2016 provides real-time protection for PCs, Macs and your Android/iOS devices, blocking viruses, malware, phishing attacks and identity theft”. So why doesn’t the software intervene and quarantine the problem or at least warn the user this is occurring? Why should I have to wait to have my equipment to become infected and then it be MY responsibility to contact you for help? Third, according to Microsoft, “Computer viruses are small software programs that are designed to spread from one computer to another and to interfere with computer operation”, so your company’s stand that the DNS Unlocker is NOT a virus is invalid (at best). If you feel this is inaccurate, please feel free to argue with Bill Gates. Lastly, I’m not asking your company for anything, except to get what I already paid for. I will not recommend your product to anyone.

> 3 dayI purchased this software on October 20, i.e. a bit more than a month ago. When I first installed the software, I had specifically formatted my hard disk to assure that Id install the security software on a clean hard disk. While the installation of Webroot proved to be easy and quick, I sensed that my browser(s) was loading dreadfully slowly. Analog phone-line pace. Customarily I only use one browser, but I installed a couple of different ones in an attempt to determine whether the slow loading was browser-specific. It made no difference. I contacted the developer and received a brief answer after a few days (Id hate to have an emergency): uninstall and reinstall. Initially, that simple instruction worked. Now, a couple of weeks later, Im back to the slow-loading of the browsers. To be transparent, I run Windows 7 Ultra and have only productivity software (MS Office 2010) installed on my computer. No games, no pictures, no music. At this point, Im annoyed with the security software; while it has kept my computer safe, it slows me down tremendously in my work. The period to return the software has expired. Moreover, I note that Amazon is now selling the same precise version for $22.00 less than I paid in October. Not pleased about that either. I will in likelihood return to the new version of the security software I used in previous years. This experiment has failed.

> 3 daySo far so good. After having AVG and Microsoft antivirus software, this was a nice change that was very easy to install with no issues. I recently installed this software, so I will have to give performance feedback at later date, but as far as ease of install I like it the best so far.

> 3 dayInstalled this program today. The installation was easy. I am impressed with the security that the program offers. Significantly easier and faster than other programs I have used. So far, I am very, very pleased with the installation. I found this program while scanning Amazons website. Initially, I was reluctant to try it. Frankly, I never knew that this program existed. I would definitely recommend it.

> 3 dayThis product has worked well for me for the past year. It is easy to install and covers up to 5 devices. I use it on my cell phone and it provides excellent security as well as internet protection. It doesnt require much space and self updates. All this is done in the background while you are performing other tasks. It is reasonable the first time installed, however, if you renew the 2nd year the price doubles! I chose to repurchase the download again and reinstall the product. Difficult to do, but it works. My bank also recommended it. I hope this has been helpful.

Greater than one weekThere is only great things to say about Webroot. I have used Webroot for many years and I have been more than pleased with their product. I have never had any problems with their software and/or having anything get through their defense system. I will never use anything else but Webroot, there is no need to use anything else. It catches everything and is so simple to use. Install it, schedule the time to scan and you are done. Great product.

> 3 day**Update - 6, January, 2015**: Although my original review was a little facetious, I tried to accurately convey the experience that Webroot products leave me with. The review Trolls quickly seized upon the unfavorable commentary and tried to bury it. And somehow, my review from 2014 got transferred to the 2015 software release. For the record, I did not buy the 2015 Webroot Secure Anywhere Complete keycode. Im sure the marketing campaign for this years release is absolutely stellar, while the product is probably only marginally evolved, if at all changed. The feature/benefit lingo is still empty hype, so I dont feel inspired to pay more for something that tells me very little about how it actually works. $70 (on Amazon right now) for something thats likely changed very little from last year - Hell No! Another thing: Webroot tried to swindle me again, a loyal but untrusting customer for several years, for $80, as part of their annual *Special Offer Direct Email* revenue grab, but I didnt bite. They shortly afterward sent a follow up offer of $50 - but still no sale. My keycode did soon expire so I checked Amazon for Webroots latest complete software listing. Its just so easy to double check pricing and make sure Im not getting hosed. It turns out there was something wrong with the 2015 Webroot release/update, not sure exactly what the problem was but they werent selling the 2015 piece yet, so I simply found an offer for a new keycode from one of the unsold 2013 Webroot Complete Security offerings on Amazon. Ended up only paying about $12 bucks or so for exactly what I had before. Yes, I purchased a clearance sale keycode of Webroots Complete Security package for cheap, because for something Im not sure really does all that much Why the hell would I pay full price, which increases every year and likely gets no better? Cloud computing drives costs down across the board, yet these companies sleazily continue to jack prices up out of sheer greed. Sorry, Im not the typical consumer sheep begging for slaughter. **Original Review**:Ive been using Webroot Complete Security for several years; the software use to offer a more dynamic interface that conveyed to users a small semblance of understanding as to what functions it was actually performing during use. Not anymore... the company motto seems to be trust us, and Just click this or that button and well take care of the rest. Reading the back of the installation CD case, were provided with only vague, lazy-consumer-mindset-type benefit statements, such as Analyzes devices and operating systems to detect system issues, and Social network protection including Facebook and Twitter. Nah, really... it does all that? Amazing. And each year this software gets more expensive and provides seemingly less comprehensive service? More on that later. The company seems to have worked to streamline their product and now simply sells activation keys to allow access to some sort of main server that provides the security service; the silent implication is that they believe their consumers to be comfortably ignorant, not interested in learning more about how the product works, and completely trusting of the cloud. Certainly, Im no tech wizard and have little need for vast amounts of technical information, but theres nothing about this products marketing or packaging that distinguishes it from any other security software out there. Lastly, I sign up for the Webroot product, services and special offers email, and each year near renewal time they send me a subscription offer. This year they were slanging key codes to valued, unquestioning consumers for only $80, supposedly the exact package I always buy. I got lucky and only paid $15 for an activation key/disc from Amazon, believing it to be the 2013 update and complete service? Im not 100% percent sure, but the verified purchase indication reflects exactly what Im using this year. All I can tell you is that the virus scans never indicate that any threat had been detected or eliminated, and if my computers do start functioning suspiciously I simply use the factory re-install settings and reset the hard drive. Im a very simple PC user and dont fill up my system with a lot of junk, so that is probably not an option for most heavy users. I back up everything on a jump drive too. If you pay $40 or, even worse, $80 for this software, youre definitely gettin took, but if you pay $15 at least you can say you have some protection... like an invisible prophylactic. Trust me, I have protection ;>)

> 3 dayJust got this. A big mistake. Yes, it is ostensibly easy to configure. Although with some of the parameters, its not clear what exactly youre configuring or what the potential impact of your various choices would be. How hard would a little more explanation be, for those who want it?. Huge frustration has been the browser filter extensions. Had to uninstall and reinstall both Webroot and Firefox several time before the filter extension for Firefox began to work. Weirdly and somewhat disturbingly, though, the Firefox icon was changed to a blank icon, as though Firefox keeps getting corrupted by Webroot in some way. Not sure what thats about and cant figure out a way to resolve it. Still cant get the damn filter extension for IE to work, despite the fact that IEs add-on manager says that its there and enabled. Way, way too much time wasted on this already. Ugh. After all of that time wasted, I went online and found that Webroots been struggling with the browser filter extensions for some time now. All kinds of problems. Multiple iterations of releases. And, still not resolved. While searching on the web for a solution to the browser filter extension problems, I ran across this on the Webroot website from Feb 2015: This is essentially down to the way that WSA works; it does not scan your entire drive and every file by default but rather it only scans for active files/apps, on the premise that if malware is dormant/inactive then it is not a threat...which makes absolute sense when you really think about it...but the moment that a dormant file/app starts to run/goes active WSA pounces on it, determines if good or bad and acts accordingly, i.e., allows to proceed or blocks & cleans, etc. OMG, are you kidding? So, Webroot doesnt actually find and eliminate threats already on your hard drive, but waits until theyre running and then tries to stop them??? I dont need to point out the obvious shortcomings of that approach. Would be nice to know what Webroots privacy policy is without having to dig for it. The fact that its deeply buried somewhere (Ive not been able to locate it) likely isnt a good sign. It also struck me as odd and troubling that theres no option in the settings for what info gets sent or not sent to Webroot, like with all other virus protection software Ive ever used. I can only assume the worst. Finally, upon looking more closely at the Amazon reviews which led me to buy this in the first place, its hard not to wonder whether a lot of the reviews are bogus and were written by Webroot-paid trolls. There are the tell-tale signs of this: Many reviewers did not make a verified purchase and/or wrote a simple one line review and/or have never reviewed any other product. Frustrating. Very worrisome. Will return.
