> 3 dayInstalled this program today. The installation was easy. I am impressed with the security that the program offers. Significantly easier and faster than other programs I have used. So far, I am very, very pleased with the installation. I found this program while scanning Amazons website. Initially, I was reluctant to try it. Frankly, I never knew that this program existed. I would definitely recommend it.

> 3 daywhen i bought my ASUS computer at BB they gave me WEBROOT to try out. Since i was having problems with Norton 360 on my ASUS that was running windows 8.1( I transferred my Norton account from my old comp. that was running win.7 were it worked fine) For my surprise WEBROOT worked really fast, better than my NORTON 360 ever did on my old comp. running win.7 the only problem is that it promises a password manager on your browser, but it never worked. it did worked on the try out, but not when i purchased the software. that is the only reason for a 4 star review. the password manager comes in handy, i had it on my Norton account. WEBROOT is.... to put it this way; so quiet, that i thought it was not working. So i tested it with a malicious software. that i use to test, this antivirus softwares. it took like 10 min to discover it and eliminate it. not bad, that is about the average that it has taken other antivirus softwares. all in all Im happy with the purchase. September 16th 2020 added some pics to the review. Happy and satisfied with webroot that I purchased it again pics show old case and new case. The cardboard one is the new one.

> 3 dayIve used more security programs in the past 15 years than I care to count. Among those that Ive used are Norton, McAfee, Comodo, Kaspersky, AVG, TrendMicro, and Panda. From an IT standpoint all the way to the end user experience, I havent used anything as good as Webroot. Webroot stood out to me because it is a cloud based product. There arent huge virus definition files to update that constantly slow down your computer. The scans are fast. Even on older systems, it can run a scan without you ever noticing a drop in performance. Its an incredibly light program, and certainly not a resource hog like other AV programs seem to always be. Ive never gotten a false positive from the program, and in the 2 years Ive been running it, I havent been infected once. My favorite thing about Webroot? Its an American company, and I love to support America. Most major AV software brands are based overseas. Give it a try - it will most likely be the last AV you ever buy.

21-11-2024Webroot has caught many threats to my computers. It works automatically and can also be worked manually. Their are also some settings that users may choose from that may cover some special concerns. It is fast as it is configured. But I found one threat that it had missed by going directly to the whole operating system, C: drive, and start the app from there. It took a long time to run that way, and it only caught one threat. I plan to use it this way only twice a year. And I will renew my contract soon. UPDATE - 10/17/15: All of the above is or was true, Im jut angry with them. The CD they sent me would not accept the Product Code, the on line help is all robotic. I wasted two hours and got nowhere. Im leaving the 4-STARS posted, but Im sending the software back and changing my digital security to Norton.

> 3 dayThere is only great things to say about Webroot. I have used Webroot for many years and I have been more than pleased with their product. I have never had any problems with their software and/or having anything get through their defense system. I will never use anything else but Webroot, there is no need to use anything else. It catches everything and is so simple to use. Install it, schedule the time to scan and you are done. Great product.

Greater than one week**Update - 6, January, 2015**: Although my original review was a little facetious, I tried to accurately convey the experience that Webroot products leave me with. The review Trolls quickly seized upon the unfavorable commentary and tried to bury it. And somehow, my review from 2014 got transferred to the 2015 software release. For the record, I did not buy the 2015 Webroot Secure Anywhere Complete keycode. Im sure the marketing campaign for this years release is absolutely stellar, while the product is probably only marginally evolved, if at all changed. The feature/benefit lingo is still empty hype, so I dont feel inspired to pay more for something that tells me very little about how it actually works. $70 (on Amazon right now) for something thats likely changed very little from last year - Hell No! Another thing: Webroot tried to swindle me again, a loyal but untrusting customer for several years, for $80, as part of their annual *Special Offer Direct Email* revenue grab, but I didnt bite. They shortly afterward sent a follow up offer of $50 - but still no sale. My keycode did soon expire so I checked Amazon for Webroots latest complete software listing. Its just so easy to double check pricing and make sure Im not getting hosed. It turns out there was something wrong with the 2015 Webroot release/update, not sure exactly what the problem was but they werent selling the 2015 piece yet, so I simply found an offer for a new keycode from one of the unsold 2013 Webroot Complete Security offerings on Amazon. Ended up only paying about $12 bucks or so for exactly what I had before. Yes, I purchased a clearance sale keycode of Webroots Complete Security package for cheap, because for something Im not sure really does all that much Why the hell would I pay full price, which increases every year and likely gets no better? Cloud computing drives costs down across the board, yet these companies sleazily continue to jack prices up out of sheer greed. Sorry, Im not the typical consumer sheep begging for slaughter. **Original Review**:Ive been using Webroot Complete Security for several years; the software use to offer a more dynamic interface that conveyed to users a small semblance of understanding as to what functions it was actually performing during use. Not anymore... the company motto seems to be trust us, and Just click this or that button and well take care of the rest. Reading the back of the installation CD case, were provided with only vague, lazy-consumer-mindset-type benefit statements, such as Analyzes devices and operating systems to detect system issues, and Social network protection including Facebook and Twitter. Nah, really... it does all that? Amazing. And each year this software gets more expensive and provides seemingly less comprehensive service? More on that later. The company seems to have worked to streamline their product and now simply sells activation keys to allow access to some sort of main server that provides the security service; the silent implication is that they believe their consumers to be comfortably ignorant, not interested in learning more about how the product works, and completely trusting of the cloud. Certainly, Im no tech wizard and have little need for vast amounts of technical information, but theres nothing about this products marketing or packaging that distinguishes it from any other security software out there. Lastly, I sign up for the Webroot product, services and special offers email, and each year near renewal time they send me a subscription offer. This year they were slanging key codes to valued, unquestioning consumers for only $80, supposedly the exact package I always buy. I got lucky and only paid $15 for an activation key/disc from Amazon, believing it to be the 2013 update and complete service? Im not 100% percent sure, but the verified purchase indication reflects exactly what Im using this year. All I can tell you is that the virus scans never indicate that any threat had been detected or eliminated, and if my computers do start functioning suspiciously I simply use the factory re-install settings and reset the hard drive. Im a very simple PC user and dont fill up my system with a lot of junk, so that is probably not an option for most heavy users. I back up everything on a jump drive too. If you pay $40 or, even worse, $80 for this software, youre definitely gettin took, but if you pay $15 at least you can say you have some protection... like an invisible prophylactic. Trust me, I have protection ;>)

> 3 dayIve had Webroot virus protection for sometime now and am well pleased with the product. I originally got it from the Best But Geek Squad. I was disappointed in the service I was receiving from the GS and wanted to eliminate them from the equation, so I contacted Webroot directly. I was very happy with the Webroot service. The quality of the product and Webroots willingness to help me is why I purchased this software.

21-11-2024I got the CD version. Unfortunately the cd would NOT work. So went online to the website indicated, created account, entered keycode about 1000 times, but could not download. Turns out my windows 10 laptop was in S Mode and would not download anything that wasnt in the Microsoft Store. Pain in the..... So had to figure out how to get out of S mode, which was a trip considering I had no idea what s mode even WAS or that I was even IN S-Mode. Once I figured out how to get out of S-Mode I was able to complete my account and download Webroot Secure Anywhere. Phew!!! I think I screwed around for at least an hour, maybe more, when I thought it was going to be quick and easy. But then again, is anything easy nowadays???? But I checked, and Webroot is installed, and it even did a scan, so I think Im protected. And I can click on it and manually scan if I want. That is SO MUCH BETTER than the Norton I just uninstalled, which I was never ever sure was ever doing anything. Every time I ever tried to click on it to check status, I would just get ads. So in any event, I think I will like Webroot, and hopefully the PTSD from trying to download it will subside eventually!!

> 3 dayUpdate on March 10, 2017 Raising my rating to 2 stars because of Webroots responsiveness, although it took them a week to actually understand the problem and provide relevant advice. Meanwhile, I returned the disk to Amazon, Googled reviews for security software, saw Webroot was still highly rated for its out-of-box approach and found a link in the PCWorld review which allowed me to renew my software for only $29.99 ($50 off--good until June, 2017.) That went very smoothly. Just entered my activation code and was up and running for another year. I declined the automatic renewal as it locks you in to paying full retail. I prefer to shop and save 60+%. And how tough is it to type security software reviews 2017 into Googles search box? Cannot go higher than 2 stars because installation from this disk is not straightforward and requires special effort from the renewal user to find the activation code in their Amazon order and enter it before their installed, expiring/expired software will (based on Webroots feedback) permit installation of the new software or simply renew it. This is WAY TOO complicated. Was not like this any previous year. Webroot NEEDS TO FIX THIS. If I could rate this lower, I would. What you need to know is if you currently have Webroot software, this disc will not install. Instead of running, it just takes you back to your installed version warning you to renew at an additional cost of $79.99. Moreover it will not uninstall, insisting your password is incorrect. Interesting ploy from a drowning company. Used to love Webroot, but it has betrayed my trust. Not good for a security company. Webroot used to be excellent. My recommendation, go elsewhere for your security software. Webroot has lost its way.

> 3 dayInstal is not as clear as most but once installed very clear and easy to use. It does a great job of reporting all attempts of programs that want to connect to the internet. If at user is not well informed about what to allow or not they will probably follow the recommendation of the program to block the attempt.. It always recommends blocking a program. This will result in problems of updating and usage of programs.. Other than those two hiccups its a good solid program that does its job.
