I purchased this software on October 20, i.e. a bit more than a month ago. When I first installed the software, I had specifically formatted my hard disk to assure that Id install the security software on a clean hard disk. While the installation of Webroot proved to be easy and quick, I sensed that my browser(s) was loading dreadfully slowly. Analog phone-line pace. Customarily I only use one browser, but I installed a couple of different ones in an attempt to determine whether the slow loading was browser-specific. It made no difference. I contacted the developer and received a brief answer after a few days (Id hate to have an emergency): uninstall and reinstall. Initially, that simple instruction worked. Now, a couple of weeks later, Im back to the slow-loading of the browsers. To be transparent, I run Windows 7 Ultra and have only productivity software (MS Office 2010) installed on my computer. No games, no pictures, no music. At this point, Im annoyed with the security software; while it has kept my computer safe, it slows me down tremendously in my work. The period to return the software has expired. Moreover, I note that Amazon is now selling the same precise version for $22.00 less than I paid in October. Not pleased about that either. I will in likelihood return to the new version of the security software I used in previous years. This experiment has failed.

I love the Webroot product overall. It would def get a 5 except that customer service cant get it working on my iPhone. Also, because I have more than 5 devices it wont integrate into a single account. Not happy about that and wish that all subscriptions could be on one dashboard. But this product does not slow my computer down and does a good job of protecting it. Plus it doesnt try to constantly download other products. For that even though this is a 4 for some things that we cant get working I must say that as a security product it is AMAZING!

Its one of the best AV Ive used. Norton and McAfee are garbage and slow your system terribly; Kaspersky was my choice before Webroot and I immediately recognized significant performance gains using Webroot without a loss in system security after switching from Kaspersky. Kaspersky also STILL prompts with ads even on fully paid/licensed versions.

Im not sure if its just me, but I find this to not really do much for me. Yes, this internet security does have impressive reviews, which is the reason why Ive gotten it but after the first year, I decided not to renew because I find it to be mininum at best, but thanks to the special on Black Friday I renew the license for another year, and still not that impressed. First thing first, the pro is that it is very light on the system, and alledgedly scan fast. You hardly notice it in the background and it does automatically updates for you. But the problem is when you actually scan it, the commputer lags and slows down and the fan just comes on due to the stress it costs on the computer. I have had multiple instances when the program was scanning my computer with other programs running, my computer crashed. Definitely overrated, but definitely better than some of the other software out there.

Works well. Been using it for two years. No virus infection and trojan intrusions and it is intrusive and does not take up too much space compared with other shields.

Need to find something cheaper, but for 5 computers for a year, it was a good price. It is also quick. My last bout with Norton took 2 hours (a couple years ago). This was 20 minutes. Loaded it on other family machines and detected issues with them all. I already had this on my machine. Note that the Amazon price was less than the Webroot renewal price, which was too steep. That is why I was looking for another product. At this price for 5 computers, Ill stick with webroot.

Just got this. A big mistake. Yes, it is ostensibly easy to configure. Although with some of the parameters, its not clear what exactly youre configuring or what the potential impact of your various choices would be. How hard would a little more explanation be, for those who want it?. Huge frustration has been the browser filter extensions. Had to uninstall and reinstall both Webroot and Firefox several time before the filter extension for Firefox began to work. Weirdly and somewhat disturbingly, though, the Firefox icon was changed to a blank icon, as though Firefox keeps getting corrupted by Webroot in some way. Not sure what thats about and cant figure out a way to resolve it. Still cant get the damn filter extension for IE to work, despite the fact that IEs add-on manager says that its there and enabled. Way, way too much time wasted on this already. Ugh. After all of that time wasted, I went online and found that Webroots been struggling with the browser filter extensions for some time now. All kinds of problems. Multiple iterations of releases. And, still not resolved. While searching on the web for a solution to the browser filter extension problems, I ran across this on the Webroot website from Feb 2015: This is essentially down to the way that WSA works; it does not scan your entire drive and every file by default but rather it only scans for active files/apps, on the premise that if malware is dormant/inactive then it is not a threat...which makes absolute sense when you really think about it...but the moment that a dormant file/app starts to run/goes active WSA pounces on it, determines if good or bad and acts accordingly, i.e., allows to proceed or blocks & cleans, etc. OMG, are you kidding? So, Webroot doesnt actually find and eliminate threats already on your hard drive, but waits until theyre running and then tries to stop them??? I dont need to point out the obvious shortcomings of that approach. Would be nice to know what Webroots privacy policy is without having to dig for it. The fact that its deeply buried somewhere (Ive not been able to locate it) likely isnt a good sign. It also struck me as odd and troubling that theres no option in the settings for what info gets sent or not sent to Webroot, like with all other virus protection software Ive ever used. I can only assume the worst. Finally, upon looking more closely at the Amazon reviews which led me to buy this in the first place, its hard not to wonder whether a lot of the reviews are bogus and were written by Webroot-paid trolls. There are the tell-tale signs of this: Many reviewers did not make a verified purchase and/or wrote a simple one line review and/or have never reviewed any other product. Frustrating. Very worrisome. Will return.

I gave it 4 stars as we shall see how it goes. It caught a nasty trojan right off the bat so I was grateful for that. I use my laptop at the public library a lot and it seems it opens it up to all kinds of invasion. I had another anti virus program that was letting stuff through. Now I have both trying to keep my computer from succombing to stuff nobody wants.
