> 3 dayIve read lots of reviews and opinions regarding the need for anti-malware/virus software for MacBook Pro. Some products for Mac slow down the system or impede the functioning of some programs. Webroot is an American Company and the service technician helped me get it up and running. I have a new computer . . . going to very reputable sites and still Webroot found infected files in just the two short weeks Ive owned this laptop. Im very pleased. Its easy to use (for those of us who know little about computers) and I hope to re-up it after the first year. Highly recommend for MacBook Pro and other Mac users.

> 3 dayUnfortunately this is not getting all the issues. I have malware on my computer that continues to open the internet over and over and using up 99% of the processing locking it up. I now have to seek a professional to take care of the problem

> 3 dayIve used Webroot for over 3 years. Never gotten a virus on any of my machines while using webroot. Amazon sells this version for less(almost $10) less than any of the big box stores, and also less than Webroot offered me to renew. This product scans your machine faster than any other product Ive used! However, it will block certain functions on a machine that uses Windows 10. I installed it on my new Windows 10 laptop, and Webroot conflicted with touchpad issues, and slowed down Windows 10 updates. Windows 10 supposedly has a built in virus protection. When I removed Webroot from my new laptop, the touchpad issues, and the slow update issues disappeared. Caveat. These are just my experiences. Also, this is not a download, but, product includes the disc. And a renew code. If one already has Webroot, the renew code can be entered without playing the disc. But, if one of the devices you need to install the program on, is not at your location, it is good that this product includes the disc, as you can take the disc with you to the other location. I have computers of mine at several locations. I only wish Webroot would supply support for more than 5 devices, like the other antivirus programs do You can always add a device, for more money, online at their website. But, I wish theyd sell the product, to cover all ones devices.

> 3 dayIve been using Webroots product for the last 10 months, and due to the fact that my laptop is still free of any issues is a testament to the effectiveness of this product and my careful web surfing. Im not a digital techy, so I cant give you the nuts and bolts of why this has been working so well. I can tell you that Webroot works so quickly and seamlessly in the background that you have to check now and then that its still engaged. Ive used Norton, McAfee, and Kaspersky over the years and found that they were either memory hogs, or run slowly robbing resources, and sometimes both. What I find frustrating is that online reviews of virus, etc., software are very unreliable, with many of them being overly complimentary while others pan the very same product. How much influence do these software manufacturers have on these sites that accept advertising? Consumer Reports is probably the most trusted source (accepting no advertising), but they didnt include this Webroot product in their last review. Another frustration is that when its time to renew, manufacturers, including this one, start sending reminders at least 60 days in advance of the end of the service period. Their offer for renewal never shows the best price available, so shopping again for the same software online is strongly recommended. I dont have any issue with the product, but the marketing schemes used by these companies is anti-consumer, especially toward their existing customers. Ever felt that way about your cable company or your cell phone provider? Do software manufacturers really want to be lumped with cable companies occupying the bottom of the list of trusted service providers?

> 3 dayI bought this product after reviewers from several different sources said it was the best. Two weeks after installing it my computer it was taken over by the DNS Unlocker virus. Not only did this Webroot software not detect it, it couldn’t quarantine or repair it. Thankfully, I was able to get rid of it using the instructions from the Microsoft Community postings. I have been using computers since the 1980’s and have installed many different brands of antivirus software and this is the first such problem I have ever had. I guess this is lesson learned and time to move to something else. Update: About 10 minutes after posting my review, James Garcia of Webroot posted his comment. To no surprise, they blame the consumer saying the virus that infected my computer is “a potentially unwanted application that is always installed by user consent”. He then goes on to say that “Anytime that you think you are infected, it is best to reach out to our support team for assistance. They can remote in and resolve issues such as this free of charge”. First, thanks for the rapid response, even if it just to blame me and attempt to do damage control. Second, your company claims that their product (and I quote) “Webroot Internet Security Complete 2016 provides real-time protection for PCs, Macs and your Android/iOS devices, blocking viruses, malware, phishing attacks and identity theft”. So why doesn’t the software intervene and quarantine the problem or at least warn the user this is occurring? Why should I have to wait to have my equipment to become infected and then it be MY responsibility to contact you for help? Third, according to Microsoft, “Computer viruses are small software programs that are designed to spread from one computer to another and to interfere with computer operation”, so your company’s stand that the DNS Unlocker is NOT a virus is invalid (at best). If you feel this is inaccurate, please feel free to argue with Bill Gates. Lastly, I’m not asking your company for anything, except to get what I already paid for. I will not recommend your product to anyone.

> 3 dayI love the Webroot product overall. It would def get a 5 except that customer service cant get it working on my iPhone. Also, because I have more than 5 devices it wont integrate into a single account. Not happy about that and wish that all subscriptions could be on one dashboard. But this product does not slow my computer down and does a good job of protecting it. Plus it doesnt try to constantly download other products. For that even though this is a 4 for some things that we cant get working I must say that as a security product it is AMAZING!

> 3 dayI regret ever trying this product. They decided to retire their app and create a new one. The key code they provided for current customers to switch apps was EXPIRED so I went months without ANY security. I purchased a new version with a physical card with a new key code and it was EXPIRED too. Calling the company for help is futile. There is no way to reach a human being, they just keep repeating the same useless instructions over and over until you disconnect the call. Never again.

> 3 dayI have had Norton installed for a couple years now and wanted to try something new & possibly better. After uninstalling Norton & installing WEBROOT a system scan revealed a hidden virus or Trojan that Norton never knew was there. Also, I have been getting warnings when visiting some sites that have pop-up ads that contain Trojans & blocks these from my computer. So, all in all, this blows Norton away. I just wish they would have a lifetime subscription or 3 year subscription instead of just yearly.

> 3 dayBuying directly from Webroot is foolish as their pricing structure is so expensive. I was able to get this at half the cost.
