Purchased two new drives and both ended up being faulty. They also had adhesive residue on the tops of them, which isnt something that I would expect from a factory sealed new drive.

Better than what came with the playstation.

Used for PS3 as described but did have re format it for this use the ps3 wouldnt recognize it

HDD in my dvr went bad and I picked up the cheapest new 500gb hdd I could find at amazon, paid $38 and got a Western Digital Caviar black. Not mad at all, in fact, the hdd is now inside my pc serving as my second gaming drive and migrated some of the games like BF1 and GTA V which both installed were ~140gb. Works like a charm.
