    I compared this product to the same 12/3 50 foot cord at the local big home improvement store which was selling their own brand of cord for $69.97. I bought this cord on Amazon at $42.96. This cord is made in the U.S.A. the other was made in China. This cord was much thicker and heavier than the other cord. All in all this is an excellent, quality product with a thick covering that is very durable. I bought one for myself and my dad. He has said several times how much he likes it. I would definitely recommend.

    I have a large yard which sometimes needs power tools at a distance from the house. I can run anything off of this cord, including the in-ground pool pump, which I move from its usual location for other pumping duties (season-opening cover drain and hottub drain). This cord does not get hot at the ends. MADE IN USA. The lighted-end feature is actually not a waste. This cord is not the easiest to handle, but you cant cheat on 12-guage wire. The ultimate test came unexpectedly when storm Irene hit. We were without power for a week, and I was lucky to be able to borrow a generator from a friend who was not affected. You hear stories of people who are hurt by carbon monoxide because a generator was too close to the house. This cord was put into use for the generator; we ran it from far away in the yard, right into the house and ran the refrigerator and telecommunications continually. Made life much easier during a difficult time and provided peace-of-mind for all the people in the house. UPDATE: After almost 4 years of use, and treating it with complete disregard while dragging around rocks and concrete and vegetation, and leaving out in the rain (disconnected, of course), I can say unequivocally that the outer jacket on this thing is TOUGH. There is only one noticeable gouge in the jacket, and it did not go through all the way.

    very good quality!!!! a little heavy but with this drive of power it is normal . you have a light at the end of the extension that tell you if the wire is live .....very practical....a very good buy!!!
