Youth Digital Mod Design 1 - Online Course for MAC/PC

My son loved Mod Design 1. It taught him about java and eclipse as well as giving him the knowledge to make mods for minecraft. He still uses that knowledge today making new mods. Highly recommend it.

This product is absolutely amazing! I couldnt be happier! The online tech support is quick, the videos are entertaining, and the lessons are very well-paced and interesting. Very well thought out!

My 10 year old daughter loves the creative mode of minecraft & loved the idea of being able to customize particular aspects of the game that arent available in the standard version. I was initially hesitant to pay almost $200 for her to take the online class, as shed tried scratch programming as was bored with it. However, she kept insisting shed pay attention and would really put effort into it if I were to let her learn Java for minecraft. I took the risk and bought the course online and I have to say Ive been SUPER impressed! Ive been with her through the online lessons and the lessons are indeed fun & easy to follow along with.

My 11 years old son loves it!!!! It is fun, easy to follow, and he is learning new things everyday!!! Even his sisters are learning how to use programs and install them. Great for any kid who loves to play Minecraft and is ready to take it to a new level!! It allows kids to make changes to the game themselves instead of having to find a mod someone else created. My son loves personalizing the game with his ideas!!!!

Wonderful. My 11 year old loved it and was able to learn to code. I saw a bit of the video and I could see that it was very entertaining whilst teaching the kids. Well done. It would be great if they could produce more courses e.g. X Code. Also more of their current courses should be available on Mac.

My husband bought this as a birthday gift for our daughter, who turned 8 this past Saturday and is obsessed with Minecraft. So far, were very impressed. I have to think that some of the reviews that comment on difficulty downloading & installing the various parts are a bit outdated, as we had to only download and install a single 500+MB file which took care of all the dependencies automatically. It seriously couldnt have been any easier.

I only have good things to say about this company, they are creating fun interactive training courses for kids to learn by doing what they love, playing! I got my 11 year old son the Mod Design 1 course, and he is literally programming in Java to make his ideas come to life in Minecraft. I have watched a couple of the videos with him, and the trainer is a total goofball, but my son is laughing and learning, so dont let that turn you off; the goofy + serious training totally works... You might think it is expensive, but it is a true training class, and I think it is a good value for what you get out of it. Having been a programmer for almost 20 years, I can say that it is really good stuff, and critical concepts that kids are going to be required to know at some point. They have other courses too, such as fashion design, 3D Game Design, 3D Animation, App Design (you actually build and install an app on an iPhone or iPad!), and others. It would make a great Christmas present! ... ok, done with my product advertising... no I dont get paid for this, I just want them to make more of these!

I hate forking out big chunks of money when Im not sure if my kids will actually like and USE the product. Im happy that we took the plunge. Both my boys, ages 9 & 11, really enjoy everything about this program. We had no major issues with installation, all support questions have been answered within 24 hours, and the boys are learning. They now know more about computers than my husband, lol. It was definitely worth the money. If your child likes Minecraft and is always wanting to install new mods this will be great for them. They will learn to create their own and hopefully the knowledge will lead them to a career they actually enjoy rather than work that they tolerate.
