Youth Digital Mod Design 1 - Online Course for MAC/PC

When you ask either of my daughters (13 and 11) what their favorite homeschooling class is, both immediately answer, Modding Minecraft, of course! Youth Digital has done a great job making difficult content accessible, relevant, and, most importantly, FUN.

My 8 year old son, who is obviously addicted to Minecraft, cannot get enough of this! I cannot be happier watching him get up in the morning wanted to go do his coding. We have been nurturing his interest in coding for a while and have tried a few other programs out there, but this one is so far the attention grabber! Looking forward to him building his skills!

Excellent. The instructing is done so well for the 8-14 year old they have no idea that they are actually learning or taking a class. My 11 year old jumped right in, installed the software himself and looks forward to going to the next lesson each day. Terrific product!

Our 10 year old son LOVES this program. He is engaged and, beyond learning how to code, he is learning to problem-solve on his own. Customer service is absolutely amazing - response time is often less than an hour to resolve any confusion or errors that he encounters and is written so that he can solve the problem without much help from us. It is the best online program we have used. Highly recommend without reservations!

My 9 year old boy (he is 10 now) could not wait to learn how to code his favorite game. I paid about $200 for the course about 6 months ago. We were exited and could not wait. He never got a chance to write a single line of code because we never passed the initial installation step. I tried two different computers. Both Dell Laptops with at least 2 GB of RAM and plenty of disk space. We followed the video instructions point by point. The customer service was no help either because the only way they could help according to their email response was for me to call them during business hours (east cost time, we live in California) so they could remote into our computer to figure out the problem. I am still hoping to plan a day off but I first have to schedule it with Youth Digital and then get day off on that day so their technician can remote into the computer to figure out the problem. And I have to do that before my 1 year runs out, in about 6 months!! I used to be a programmer but mostly in Microsoft world. My experience with Java is limited but I could not imagine installing this would be that problematic. If you know your way around in Java you probably will have a better luck. Youth Digital should refund your money if you cannot use their product. I dont know if they do or not. I have not asked for this yet because I am still hopeful to get a day off to make it work.

Beyond my expectations! This has really got my kid to really focus on something that is both educational (learn about programming), fun to do(building something that no one else can do) and rewarding (gets to see it in action). Highly recommended.

Ten year old son loves it! He finds the video lessons entertaining and likes taking quizes in order to earn specialty items. My husband and I have no Java experience. When my son has questions, he emails the support team. I love that he is also learning to formulate his questions in order to get answers. We will be looking at Youth Digitals other courses too.

My son is 11 and very bright. He made it through the first section. That part was set up great. But, when he tried to move to the next section, the software wasnt working like it was supposed to. As instructed, he contacted customer service but they did little to help him. I stepped in and tried to get them to fix it but they still werent able to fix it. No offer of a refund or anything. We wasted all that money for nothing.
