10 year old loves it. Its amazing that its teaching him coding without and adults help.

i recieved this for my schoolwork and have loved it, usually when people try to mix school and fun they just kill everything enjoyable. but they finally succeded, the course includes videos and interactive problem solving. in fact the guy staring in the video is so funny i sometimes just watch them again for fun. after 5 days i created a mod containing

My kids love Minecraft. I had been wanting them to learn how to create mods in order to segue their passion for Minecraft into some programming knowledge. My son and I had read lots of internet content, then spent a very frustrated weekend trying to teach ourselves to mod with no results.

My son received this program for Christmas and has been enjoying it very much for the past 24 hours. My review is based on tech support. There was an issue getting a program called GIMP to work properly with the Mod program. My son sent an email to tech support on Christmas with a warning from me that it might be a few days before he heard from anyone given that it was a holiday. He had a very quick response and the issue proved to be a quick fix. He followed the instructions in the reply and was up and running again in less than 15 minutes. It was a wonderful surprise to see that the company was so committed to making sure that the program was working for the kids that were using it, and that they were able to explain the solution in a way that an 11 year old could get up and running by himself.

Great product and fast delivery.

Parents bought me this and was greatly disappointed to find out that it has nothing to do with coding. It just teaches copy and pasting code and doesnt even talk a single bit about how to write your own code. Their videos are based on placeholders that their students use. Moreover, they use customer support to advertise their other courses, but most importantly, you lose access to the course after a year without notice!

YouthDigitals Mod Design 1 is absolutely hands-down the best birthday gift Ive ever given my son. He and his siblings (14, 12, 10, 8) all LOVE the videos, plus my son is learning so much about coding. He is realizing that the tiniest details mean everything. When we had issues with the installation of GIMP, the tech support was fantastic! Best of all, after the year of tutorials are over, we will still have Eclipse so he can continue modding. If your child loves Minecraft and is interested in coding, this is for you!

My son is 11 and very bright. He made it through the first section. That part was set up great. But, when he tried to move to the next section, the software wasnt working like it was supposed to. As instructed, he contacted customer service but they did little to help him. I stepped in and tried to get them to fix it but they still werent able to fix it. No offer of a refund or anything. We wasted all that money for nothing.

My kids didnt care for it

Ten year old son loves it! He finds the video lessons entertaining and likes taking quizes in order to earn specialty items. My husband and I have no Java experience. When my son has questions, he emails the support team. I love that he is also learning to formulate his questions in order to get answers. We will be looking at Youth Digitals other courses too.
